So Triptaka will run against Gwanggaeto because Triptaka is an MBC production ,I never understand networks Gwanggaeto is doing well Triptaka will target the same audience ,people will not desert Gwanggaeto for Triptaka . Only people like us who think Gwanggaeto is complete idiocy will watch Triptaka . Sun/Moon may be alright Daemang was a fictional drama set in Joseon that had two fictional Kings and a fictional Crown Prince ,when the King is murdered and his brother seizes the throne the Crown Prince hides out with Merchants until the new King being a tyrant finds himself the object of a rebellion organised by the Merchant Guilds .Still to this day one of my fave historical dramas at least as far as Joseon Dynasty ,And it made stars of Jang Hyuk and Lee Yo Won so you never know . And as a bonus it had the best female swords woman i have seen in a Sageuk ,also made a star of Son Ye Jin too. Triptaka's rival will be King Taejong Muyeol(Kim Choon Chu) because Triptaka starts in February and Gwanngaeto will end in March(if it doenst get extended).

No its 36 episodes .
Triptaka will sort of follow on from AOW ,its actually about the Sambyeocheol who were originally the private army of Choi/Cho'e family but after Goryeo was placed under Mongol domination the Sambyeocheol rose in rebellion and made a stand against the Mongol's

@dyc
I started watching AOW where I left off and the thing that has been bugging me was why are the warriors illiterate even Yi Uibang who came from a good family. Is it kinda related to TwDR as the King wan't to develop a simpler language which is easier to learn?

^Thats strange. The warriors were a lower class than the civil officials, but I thought they should at least be literate

@dyc
The name of Tripitaka Koreana has officially been changed to The Warrior.
One role has been casted so far.
Kim Joo Hyuk will play the role of Kim In Joon(later known as Kim Joon), the man who took over as the new warrior dictator after killing Choi Ui and putting an end to the long Choi regime. This is supposed to be the main character, I think.
Kim In Joon started out as Choi family's slave(his father was a slave of Choi Choong Hun). He won the favor of Choi Woo and became a close subject of Choi Hang. He was murdered by Yim Yeon, who then took over as the new military dictator.
This guy was very anti-Mongol, so I guess he's perfect as the main character.

Thank's Truth this drama is looking very good .Though i wish they had kept the Triptaka name .
Reading up on the Queen Insuk/insoo drama ..how silly we only had The King And I a couple of years back and the actress who played her in that drama is a similar actress to Chae Si Ra .
Oh well to drag up one of our bad Empress jokes "Chae Si Ra Si Ra what ever will be will be " AKJ was the criminal responsible for this moment of wit .

@saguek I thought so too but only a few like Kyun Dae Sung and the elder Choi brother were literate. I think literacy was one of the main sticking points between the loyal ministers and the warriors as the former preferred hiring official who pass the civil exam and can read while the latter prefer hiring their illiterate relatives in order to maintain power.

MBC have just announced DAE JANG GEUM 2 will role next year . Of course Lee Young Ae is not touching it and now it seems head scribe Lee Byun Hoon wants to do another new historical rather than send Great Lady Jang off a cliff followed by Gladiator School . Still MBC are fed up with delays and will film it no matter what .

Dae Jang Geum 2 why? Are they remaking the first one? A continuation? Don't they know lightening doesn't strike twice. I personally see no need in remaking it.

Granted, I haven't seen subs yet for the most recent episodes, but it seems to me GyeBaek is being seriously upstaged by the king and Eungo. Considering that the show's supposed to be about him, he seems more like a supporting character just reacting to and being manipulated by the royal family. I hope it all makes more sense once I see the subs.
