The Most Memorable Scene in the DJG Drama
DJG as we all recognise has the potential of becoming a classic. Imagine yourself watching a k-drama 10 years down the road and reflecting on the DJG drama and if you have to pick the most memorable scene, which one would it be?
Please note, I did say the most memorable scene (ONE SCENE) so don't cheat, I can count up to 5! ;D
I think, in my case, it would have to be the spiritual master who made the prediction about the 3 women in DJ father's life.

every scene!!!!! jk..
hmm... I would have to pick the scene towards the end of the series when JG and Min and their daughter Sohun are living a happy life, and the guards come from the palace and Sohun thinks that they are going to prison. She drops to her knees saying that her parents are good people. The guard explains that JG and Min will be welcomed back to the palace and brings a "kot gah mah." <--- (how do you say that in english, i do not know -_-) then sohun looks at her parents and goes, "we're going to ride a "kot gah mah" to go to prison?"
that was sooo cute!!! i loved how JG and Min exchanged glances while they were laughing. aww...
most people in korea think that the best scene was the tournament between Lady Han and Choi. It was truly a memorable scene, when JG had to step up and cook instead of her master. It showed her inner strength and her wisdom in handling things in difficult times... Min was a little more attracted to her after this, too. ^^* Most people were attracted to the cultural foods of this drama, i think,...

Well, that certainly would make MY top ten, UKFan. But how can we possibly choose? Okay. Another visually stunning image--wait a minute. Has everyone finished watching the show? 'Cause mine is a spoiler. I will space down: * * * * * * SPOILER SPACE * * * * * [HIGHLIGHT TEXT TO READ IT]: Lady Choi tumbling off of the cliff after her little world crumbles around her--she reaches for the red cloth that fell out of her hair and over she goes. (They showed that, didn't they, or was it so well done that I supplied the image for myself? It's been over a year since I watched it last...LOL.)
Bo
PS - If you tell me I don't have to do this, I'll take out all that muck up there and leave it like regular text.

You picked an interesting scene, UKFan, because that's what got me hooked to the whole series to begin with, it was so well written. I loved how they did that neat thing with the words.
djanggum, I don't love the final episode. I guess it was a little anticlimatic for me, it's nice to see them together and all, but a little bittersweet. MJH shouldn't have to go do hard labor for years away from he love of his life!
TheBo-- that is too funny.
Getting back to the topic, I would have to go with the 'Are you happy, I'm sad, are you sad? I'm happy' walk in the hills after JG passed her exam. It's the one that always brings a smile to my face when I hear it.

it's never hard work for Min as long as he has JG...
i like the winter scene when JG and Min are running away, and JG asks him if he knows the consequences, and Min says it's ok because it is for her...

Okay, if I get to pick a whole scene, and it seems everyone here has seen the whole thing, I'd say the scene that is two scenes at different times. That is, the part where DJG's mom follows her dad (or does he follow her?) after he saves her life, where he makes a path for her over the river and catches the thieves in the woods, etc. And then, the scene crossing the river is repeated by DJG and Min when they are running away together. And don't they repeat a similar scene...earlier. Oh, dear, I'm a little mixed up. I think DJG and Min do a river crossing scene, and later on, they do a similar thing over snowy rocks when they are running away.
Don't you hate scattered people, LOL? It's the repetition of the parents' relationship that I like, so lyrical and circular.

Djanggum, MJH didn't have JG with him while he was doing hard labor! Luckily, hard work didn't seem to have a bad effect on him and he didn't look a day older when they were reunited years later ;D
TheBo, Lyrical and circular is how I would describe the conversations I love so much in dJG. Maybe there's an on-going lyrical/circular theme all over DJG. Think about that spoiler scene you described earlier (in black), she flashed back to when they were playing as children and she relived that moment and sort of came full circle.

the most memorable scene for me is the Expose' on the Sulphur Duck Incident When all the witnesses gathered to expose the wrongdoing of the badguys From this scene, I heaved a sigh relief when Finally, there is justice after all. (good triumphed over evil !) The exchanges b/w Lady Cui and RIght PM Wu is worth to watch and of course, the entry of a one viable witness(wont tell-spoiler) put a shock on all their faces. I always rewind to these part .hehehe

MJH shouldn't have to go do hard labor for years away from he love of his life! On the contrary, I like the final part . If they have eloped earlier, MJH wouldnt be put on exile. Wait, How many years was MJH on exile? When I saw them together as a family, it put a smile on my face. Its a happy ending for a tumultous life of Jan Geum.

I don't know the actual number of years but it was a long time. MJH's character went from 29 to 50 during the series. A dashing looking 50 year old man, I may add. But anyway, he was reunited with JG at 42 because the series said 8 years later before we see them in the village with the girl. Let's say he was 30-31 when he went to Jeju and he was there a few years, then he came back to the court a little bit. I would guess that he must have been in exile 6-8 years? Wait, we can check.. how old did the princess look at that Queen's birthday party at the end?
I can perfectly understand why people like the last episode. I just feel like so much is lost already. However, it's a happy ending, considering they could have just kill off his character.

Oh, I forgot about the Sulphur Duck expose! Man, that WAS great. See, UKFan, you've set an impossible task. Bo What is impossible Bo? That is not like you! ;D Ok, I got to admit they are obviously many, many memorable scenes in DJG, that why this drama is so special. I tell you what people..I am generous today, everyone can list down 3 most memorable scenes. So, to complete the 3 most memorable scenes in my case. 1. The prediction of the 3 women in DJ father's life. 2. Lady Han and JG winning the 2nd competion after the Empress & the Queen stepped in as they were so impressed with what Lady Han had done at Tai Ping Guam. 3. The expose' of the Sulphur Duck incident. Over to you BO, LiFan and everyone else.... uk fan

I would count the Jang geum&Lady Han vs. Geum Young& Lady Choi Competition too as the most memorable scene. That's what got me at the end of my seat and cheering (voiceless, i'm watching jitp at the dead of the night when everybody else is asleep ;D). I also loved that scene because that's where good motives conquered the evil ones despite of all evil schemes *double evil here*, courage and strength of conviction and character will be polished amidst adversities.
