Hi j011485.. I am glad you are enjoying DJG, in my case I used toothpicks to keep my eye lids open when I watched DJG DVD over 4 days! But it was worth it! BTW - welcome to the board! ;D Hi YunYun I’m glad you liked YMK’s messsage…she is class isn’t she? Thanks for the Mongolian song. You know what? I think we are watching the same Chinese channels. I came across that song last summer too on PCNEChinese channel and again during the Chinese Year’s show. I actually tried to find that song online and failed so thank you Yunyun! BTW have you seen the cartoon too? Yes, yes, before you ask, I am not having my second childhood, I haven’t left my first one! Anyway, I came across another song which some might think is childish but I liked it. It is called, "Lao Shu Ai Da Mi" ("The Mouse Loves The Rice") ;D You can find out about the background of this very popular song (I am sure Kwoonie knows about this!) from www.funponsel.com/blog/archives/2005/08/22/story-behind-the-mouse-loves-the-rice-song/ You can also listen to an English version of this song on this site (the link is at the very bottom of the page), but for a Mandarin and Cantonese version you have to visit oudefeng.multiply.com/music NB: You have to scroll down to number 4 for the Cantonese version and number 15 for the Mandarin version. For completeness, I have the lyrics as well, see below and can you imagine Sir Ming singing this little crazy and silly song when he was in exile? When I hear your voice I get a special kind of feeling it constantly makes me want to not forget you I'll always remember there's somebody Who will stay in my heart forever even if I can only long for you this way But if there really comes a day When this love becomes a reality I will double my efforts to be true to you No matter how far the road I will surely make this love come true I'll lean close to your ear, and gently say I love you, I'm loving you like the mouse loves rice No matter how difficult, I will stay with you I miss you, I'm missing you No matter how painful; I will do anything to make you happy This is how I love you.I hope you like it too! ;D Enjoy uk fan

Thanks once again, Obsidian*G. Luckily you were online to answer Yunyun regarding her query. I'm only online once in a while so, you know ...... Well, I'll try to listen to the Mongolian song mentioned by Yunyun and other items which was posted by Ukfan soon. Then I'll be able to comment more. Time.....flies too fast when you have too much work to do and not enough for us to have fun, eh? ;D Hi j011485 - welcome to the board too. I wasn't as extreme as Ukfan; watched DJG the normal way but luckily for us it wasn't broadcast so late. It was on at the primetime - 8.30 pm.

Hi Jo! Welcome to the board. You'll have lots of fun here! Here is a welcome present from Yunyun: www.sonyunion.or.kr/webdata/nojo/djk040901-6.WMVYes, it's the opening title sequence of DJG! I like to watch it over and over. Mama thinks I'm mad Hi Obsidian, Thank you for answering my question about LG. Makes more sense now. ;D Kamsahamnida! Hi ukfan, Yang Mi-Kyeong really is special. Just like Madam Han, which I think is one of the reasons why DJG has become such a success. Everyone fell in love with her character. And why it was so heartbreaking when Madam Han passed away It's funny that we both watch the same things! I came across that Mongolian song during the summer when I was doing my exams, (yes, the cartoon version-I loved it! ;D). Can't you just imagine Jang Geum singing it with Sir Min and their daughter Sohun? Thank you for the song about the mouse who loves rice. Maybe when they make the musical version of Dae Jang Geum, they could make Sir Ming sing this song? ;D ;D Hi kwoonie, Nice to hear from you again, I hope you're not working too hard! I'd better go, it's dinner time once again. Goodbye everyone! Love, Yunyun

Hi Yunyun..I'm back! How are you doing? ;D I have been a bit busy lately, but I am here! ;D I did have a quick browse before coming back to this thread and there are so many new threads...and so many new members! All of these are obviously good news...and I do hope DJG board will go on and on..... What had happened a day or so ago of course was the disaster in the Phillipines. I do feel their pain and suffering - if there is a God, I hope the almighty will not foresake them in the hour of needs To all DJG fans from the Phillipines, please accept my condolences and deepest sympathy Till next time uk fan

Hi ukfan, I hope you are well. I wrote to BBC again. This time I asked them for an appointment with head of drama acquisitions and Wayne Dunsford (the only person at the BBC who seems remotely interested in Dae Jang Geum being shown on BBC). But, just got an automated response. So, I'm going to write to the BBC again, until I get a result. ;D ;D On arirang's website, they have VODs teaching basic Korean! On the homepage, click on the TV icon at the top, scroll down to 'Traveler's Korean', then when you get to the next page, click 'Video on Demand' on the left. There are 25 episodes. Great for people who want to learn basic Korean but have no access to arirang TV. There's also another programme on there called 'Let's Speak Korean' teaching more advanced Korean. Enjoy! Take care everyone, bye for now. Love, Yunyun

Hi YunYun, I'm glad to hear that you are in communication with the good old BBC - give them hell if they don't do what you requested... ;D Thanks for the link to the Korean language site and I had a quick look and users are required to register...so I'll give it a go as soon as I have a spare minute. You know what, the Korean phrase from DJG which I can't get out of my head is , " Ankorra" (I am sure the spelling is wrong) and it means something like, "Please be seated". Come to think of it, I think we should start a new thread, " My favourite Korean Phrase from DJG drama"...what do you think? BTW, Tai Shan is growing up very fast! Have you paid him a visit lately? ;D Till next time uk fan

Hey ukfan, yun yun and everyone else - how's things? Like ukfan, I just have a spare minute or two to quickly browse here and boy, there's plenty to read about. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to do all the reading at present. You know, ukfan - I was trying to download the Lao Shu Ai Da Mi song from the site you gave, but I had some problems halfway.... .....old pcs and what nots . Anyhow, I did finally get to listen to the song but not from the site. Someone lent me a CD from China and inside there were a couple of versions of the song. Now, I seem to be humming the chorus in my mind most of the time. ;D It's catchy.

Hi kwoonie Glad to know that you liked the Lao Shu Ai Da Mi song Not only is it catchy, to me it's hilarious! ;D You know what, my music taste may not be great but my choice: 9 million bicycle in Beijing (2005) and Lao Shu Ai Da Mi (2006) are certainly memorable! What is 2007's selection be I wonder! Hi Yunyun, hope all is well and BBC has replied to your letter. All the best to one and all! Till next time PS. I will be watching DJG this weekend...again!!!

Annyeong haseyo Lady Han ;D Yes, we do get such a drama or film only once a blue moon and DJG will probably go down in television history as the most successful K-drama ever. ;D Further more, what is interesting about it is, we all are part of it in one way or another. Also, I will the first to admit, I have learned a thing or two and I am glad to say I am a better person as a result of watching DJG ;D & Plus..DJG was my first K-drama! ;D Till next time uk fan

Ottoeshimnikka UKFan? YEs I agree, DJG is a world-wide phenomenon too, so I'd say it was very successful ^__^ me too, I changed in some ways because of DJG and Lee Young Ae's character in DJG as Jang Geum sometimes inspires me ^^, Wow, it's your first drama? for me, it was my first historical KDrama & I loved it..! I mean, I'm still loving it! laterz :]
