Why would they need to do that? They didn't do it for LBKT. Ten days the episodes are going to sit there and collect dust? Come on, people can do amateur fansubs in that time. And the 21st is a Tuesday, what's up with that?
And wow I sure hope the font they use for the episode subs is a heck of a lot bigger than what we saw in that teaser. Hmmm things have taken a crabby turn suddenly.
Not to change the subject but if we're getting Mokjong in this drama, and from those photos we obviously are, then it will be really interesting to see if KBS is any braver about the gay thing than they were in Iron Empress.
p.s. Maybe Kocowa will still get it promptly even if KBS World runs it with a delay. Maybe?

Iβm beginning to wonder if the series will start in medias res during the Khitan invasions then flashback to Cheonchuβs reign I was thinking about that as well, it sounds that way to me. Which means we're going to get some whopper narrated texts, or at least we should.

I think we got our opening.
Hey the actor that played the monk who raised Kim Jun once again plays a monk who raised the main lead.

Hey the actor that played the monk who raised Kim Jun once again plays a monk who raised the main lead. That guy's like in almost every drama and film as a side character. Some Korean traditional historical fans are complaining that it doesn't feel like a legitimate traditional historical because it's lacking the usual traditional historical actors who appear in almost every traditional historicals. (Ex. Kim Myeongsu, Lee Gwanggi, Yim Ho) While I don't completely agree with them, I can understand why they might feel that way because the actors in this highlight aren't really giving off traditional historical vibe with their acting except for CSJ, Lee Wonjong(Kang Jo), and Baek Seonghyeon(Mokjong). I think KBS is really trying to change the image of traditional historicals by hiring as many new faces as possible with this drama.

It only recently occurred to me, but Iβm kinda fearful that if they do the gay thing, it will be to promote or justify homophobia, especially since Mokjong favoring his guy is treated as a bad thing in the history texts.

I was expecting that anyway, I read a compendium of historical examples of emperors/Kings having male lovers in East Asian history and most take either the "he was really feminine... and evil!" route or "he was really cool but he used the emperor's affection to abuse his power, etc, etc..." route

Do we have an idea when this will air on KBS America? Although, given their history of butchering (editing) their shows to fit in the 50 min airtime slot, it might be better to watch on Kocowa or Dramacool.
PS - So great to see Lee Won Jong in a KHD again!!!

By the time I post this, it should be past 11PM in Korean time, which is probably past the airing of the showβs first episode.
Still not showing at Kocowa yet though. Actually the Kocowa page doesnβt even say when itβs coming up. Time or date.
KBS drama classicβs YouTube Chanel is uploading clips though

I think KBS is really trying to change the image of traditional historicals by hiring as many new faces as possible with this drama. This is a wonderful thing! Yes it's fun to spot the familiar faces in supporting parts, and there are only so many actors who do these dramas anyway, so you'll get some of that like it or not. But especially for leads, and especially for a drama that covers a time period that literally has never been touched by a historical before, I don't want to see the same people recycled over and over. Let these important main characters have their unique portrayals and styles. But this is sounding like the same rant I do every time so I'll stop lol Do we have an idea when this will air on KBS America? Although, given their history of butchering (editing) their shows to fit in the 50 min airtime slot, it might be better to watch on Kocowa or Dramacool. PS - So great to see Lee Won Jong in a KHD again!!! Hey Steve! Good to hear from you again. Yeah I definitely am not going to hold my breath for KBS America. Kocowa is an official site--the ads can be annoying but it will be a reliable outlet. The only thing to keep in mind is that if they do this series like the previous one, we'll only have 24 hours to watch each new episode (with commercials) before they stick it behind a paywall. I hope they don't do that again but it makes sense that they would.

This drama's time period has been covered by Iron Empress before. And I think I said this before, but the reason why same people got cast over and over again in previous traditional historicals is because these actors are the ones that make a traditional historical feel like a traditional historicals. Just finished watching Episode 1, and I have to say the drama feels more like a fusion historical like SBS Six Flying Dragons and part of the reason might be because of the lack of the usual traditional historical actors.
