Lee Jaeyong(Lee Sanhae in KBS Jingbirok) has been cast as Park Jin(fictional character) That's probably why they came up with this character. Additional cast : Ju Seoktae(Shimazu Toyohisa in 2023 film Noryang) has been cast as Choi Jil Han Jaeyoung(Lee Bangwon in 2022 film The Pirates : The Last Royal Treasure) has been cast as Ji Chaemun Jo Jaewan(So Yoshitoshi in KBS Jingbirok) has been cast as Boryang Kang Shinil(Yim Sahong in KBS Queen For Seven Days) has been cast as Monk Jingwan Han Changmin has been cast as Yang Daechun, the son of Yang Gyu Jo Seungyeon(Gyeong Geunjik in MBC My Dearest) has been cast as Kim Eunbu, the father of Empress Wonseong en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_UnbuHa Seungri(Jang Hari in Netflix All of Us Are Dead) has been cast as Empress Wonseong en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_WonseongI loved Ha Seungri's character in All of Us Are Dead. All of Us Are Dead was Netflix's 12th most watched series worldwide. I can't believe she's actually going to be in a traditional historical. Granted, she wasn't the main character in that show so I guess it's not too surprising. It'd be surprisng to see one of the 4 main chracters from the series in a traditonal historical though.

Let me guess. Park Jin is descended from Park Sulhee. Or it’s another Park clan close to the Wang family…

Or it’s another Park clan close to the Wang family… I said it was a fictional character because someone named Park Jin doesn't exist in this time period, but I think the staff might have just changed either Park Jinseung or Park Seom's name for the same reason I mentioned in other thread.

A better look at the battle scenes.
And confirmation the Khitan characters are speaking Khitan (or something close to it)
I spotted a helmet used in King Geunchogo
Nice to see the Khitans aren’t wearing leather barbarian armor at least

This drama is apparently going to be streamed on Netflix Korea.
It is unknown whether Netflix US or other countries will be picking this up on their Netflix.

Although I wouldn't put it past them to try to pass off Manchurian as Khitan...

We’d have to speak to someone who speaks Mongolian. For all we know, the spoken Khitan in the show is just modern Modern Mongolian

We saw footage of Gang Gamchan being tied up and being carried off. Methinks a fictional plot to oust Gang Gamchan by jealous and crooked officials will be made up. Oh noooo........ Not too surprising since pre-Joseon dynasties historical records are scarce compared to Joseon dynasty record. This is one reason why there aren't many pre-Joseon historicals in the first place. Most pre-Joseon historicals except for dramas covering final years of Goryeo dynasty leading up to foundation of Joseon have more fiction than history in them. This is one reason why Empress Cheonchu had to rely so much on fiction although not having enough records doesn't justify turning Empress Cheonchu into Korean Joan of Arc. EWG also has more fiction than history in it especially the plot points taken from Romance of Three Kingdom. I'm ok with some fiction in pre-Joseon historicals since there aren't as many historical records left compared to Joseon, but I hope they don't go overboard with fiction in this drama. This drama only consists of 32 episodes, so they shouldn't have any need to include pointless fiction made up to fill 78 episodes of Empress Cheonchu. Aside from Kang Gamchan getting arrested storyline, I can maybe see a fictional love triangle between Hyeonjong, Wongyeong, and Wonseong. Historically, I don't think there would've been any love triangle since Hyeonjong had 7 queens and 6 concubines. If anything, there may have been love tridecagon lol. I guess they have no choice but to include love triangle to lure in viewers who aren't normally interested in traditional historicals. I mean they cast a former Kpopl idol as a main character, of course they had to include a romance plot lol We’d have to speak to someone who speaks Mongolian. For all we know, the spoken Khitan in the show is just modern Modern Mongolian I don't really see the point of making Khitans speak Modern Mongolian. Khitans didn't speak Mongolian neither were they Mongolians. They are closely related cousins of Mongolians but we don't know what language they spoke. All of them either integrated with Manchurians after Jin dynasty became dominant in the region or became Chinese. Foreign characters speaking in local language in historicals where they don't play a significant part like the Ming emperor in Jeong Dojeon or King of Tears is understandable, but I think it'd be better to just speak Korean in dramas where the foreign characters play important role like in Jingbirok and this drama. It would've been terrible if the actors spoke broken Japanese in Jingbirok instead of Korean. There's really no point of having Korean actors speak in broken Mongolian in drama like this when Khitans didn't speak Mongolian and Khitan language is an extinct language.

One thing in that trailer that's very encouraging is the sight of horses charging in battle. After the debacle in LBKT I was concerned that they might just CGI all of the horses going forward and it would look ridiculous. Not so, apparently. Presumably they have their act together as far as how the horses are being treated. Historically, I don't think there would've been any love triangle since Hyeonjong had 7 queens and 6 concubines. If anything, there may have been love tridecagon lol. Maybe they'll release a too-hot-for-TV DVD of the series and give us that! They may need to find new revenue sources, well....

BTW I did reach out to Kocowa and got a form response back saying that they would pass my suggestion along to their content team.
I really don't like getting that sort of form response from a company. I didn't ask for some obscure series from 20 years ago. It's a major series that starts in a few weeks and they certainly know whether or not they'll be carrying it. Read the email and answer the question, how difficult is that. Ugh.

Did Kocowa announce the LBW drama before it aired or did it upload on its first airing without saying anything? I don’t remember

There was a rumor 2 months ago that the main character was going to be changed from Hyeonjong to Kang Gamchan. It seems like Hyeonjong will be the main character after all. CSJ is too old to play a lead character now I guess. Additional cast : GoryeoKwak Minseok has been cast as Won Jongseok Lee Doguk has been cast as Ha Gongjin Kim Obok has been cast as Yang Hyeob Oh Jaeyoung has been cast as Yu Chungjeong Lee Pung-Un(King Danjong in SBS King and I) has been cast as Yu Hanggan, who was Mokjong's gay interest Jang Inseob(Jang Donggi in SBS Secret Door) has been cast as Hwangbo Yui LiaoLee Sanghong has been cast as Yelu Pennu Kim Gutaek(Lee Jiran in SBS Great Seer) has been cast as Han Qi It seems like they barely cast the usual KBS traditional historical actors for this show. My previous prediction about casting the same pool of actors from Jeong Dojeon, Jingbirok, and LBW were wrong.
