^ Not surprising with extensions.

Funny. While I also feel that it lost some steam, I don't think the show was killed by the extension at all.

Only two episodes until the end. I think it could have ended sooner without any loss of plot line. Seems that some of these episodes after 50 are using a LOT of footage from the previous episode LOL - sort of the way the old-time US Western serials were done. Most of the members of this board are probably way too young to remember those old-time serials but it was one of the features we kids enjoyed at our weekly movie trip. LOL Back to Dong Yi - I would love to purchased the OST for this one - any suggestions as to where to look? I mean besides Amazon . . thanks -

Yeesh, domyoungchun, you sure get your facts wrong. Path of the Great Dynasty, or 대왕의길 isn't part of the 500 Years of Joseon Dynasty series. Path oif the Great Dynasty is a Crown Prince Sado story, but there is a similar story in 500 Years titled Memoirs of Lady Hyegyong, with Sado played by Choi Soo-jong. THose who have seen Yi San should know what its about, and the funny thing is, it's directed by the same guy! Ran from April 15,1998 to August 13, 1998. Oh im sure i do ,maybe because i cannot read or speak Korean ,Japanese yes Korean no . Anyway i have some episodes of ''Memoirs Of Lady Hyegyong"with Choi Su Jong as Sado on VHS (if they still play It was broadcast here as ''Kingdom Of The Wind "to my knowledge (oh here we go im sure im going to get jumped on for this )it was a stand alone series . The Memoirs Of Lady Hyegyong by the way have been pretty much dismissed by scholars as Noron Propaganda ,considering she took the side of her political party over both husband and son . MOD NOTE: Dom, I just fixed your quote. - Bo

www.quixium.com/fan/drama_dvdrlist.htmThese people actually have "King Of The Wind "for sale ,with Eng and Spanish subs its from an Arirang Rebroadcast and its a Tv Rip of course ,but i know i probably should not post this because its not legit but seeing as its 12 years old chances of a legit version are Zero to None . The vendor is in Hawaii and are very trustworthy ,years ago an outfit i sometimes work for that restores and subtitles rare Samurai Films and Tv Dramas worked with them on two dramas from the late 70's and 96 .These people work very hard to restore and enhance the video quality ,though its been about since 04 that i have had any contact with them . In a normal circumstance i would never even post this info but i do know a lot of people looking for this so i thought id stick my neck out at risk of BO slapping my wrists and someone else grumbling its not Blu Ray quality and he will surely wait for an official release which will never happen .

''Path Of The New Dynasty " = 800 eps?!!!! O.O That's incredible. x.x I can't imagine sitting down for 800 eps but of course since it was aired over 5 years ... if it is available on dvd, the number of discs is . . . meh. If anyone is interested in seeing "The Path of the New Dynasty" I will be reaching out to the "PD". How about you all write to them. Hope someone manages to find that portrait of Dong Yi. P.S. Was watching some DJG NGs earlier for some laughs. In one blooper, the soldiers were ordered to search for the fugitives. *fugitives* So one or two extras were slipping on the floor or failing to slide the door open but the most hilarious antic that tickled me was neither of those because I'm trying to imagine *fugitives* practising yoga in the small cabinets. ;D

Dong Yi has ended. A happy ending! MORE HISTORICALS NEED MORE HAPPY ENDINGS! DAE JANG GEUM HAD A HAPPY ENDING! GREAT KING SEJONG HAD A HAPPY ENDING (I have yet to see the entire series but I managed to see the last minutes of the finale)! Are there any other historicals that had happy endings? IYSS ended with Yi Soon SHin's death. Queen Seondeok ended with Deokman's death. Emperor of the Sea ended with EVERYBODY's death (except for Junghwa). Chuno ended with Dae Gil's death. Yi San ended with Jeongjo's death. Comrades ended with everybody's death except for Sergeant Lee and Taeksu. I'm not sure how to describe Jumong's ending though. Happy? Sad? Epic?

Sorry about that, I was sooo sleepy but want to give my thoughts on this search. If anyone is interested in seeing "The Path of the New Dynasty" I will be reaching out to the "PD", to see if they can rehash those old dramas. How about we al submit letters/emails to them.

OT I know but... You chaps have seen more sageuk than me so lemme ask if there is any comedy sageuk in existence. ;D It just occurred to me while I was ruminating on jokes earlier. There's one from HK that's very well written and acted, filled with witticisms and proverbs to boost the laugh. I'm wondering if there is any for Korean period dramas. P.S. I'm watching Damo on Soju now. It's like HK wuxia drama. I can't help but laughed when the police officer (don't know his name) talked to the informer on the bridge, in full view of everyone! allooo?? ;D P.S. On ep 3. This is irrelevant but ... those guys in those days don't ever take a leak standing up. It's unheard of. ;D Because it's a western custom. hahahaha

Pilseung or anyone! Do you know of a drama showed on MBC called "Path of The New Dynasty"? If you do, can you direct me to where I can view this drama. That drama showed a photo of the real Dong Yi. Please all search the annals of you mind for this drama. (Pilseung I can hear you snickering)!!!! The portrait of Dong Yi is about a minute into this video from The Path of the New Dynasty: www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9pbmb7pbrUI found it by googling ´ë¿ÕÀÇ , the Korean characters for The Path of the New Dynasty. Now check this out (and photos from the link DYC posted) and compare it to the video above: fansub.guckies.com/items/king_of_the_wind.html(I don't know if they're reliable to buy from) All the sources I found show that King of the Wind and Path of the New Dynasty are MBC from 1998 and the casts are the same. It looks like King of the Wind is just an alternate title for the same show, so DYC, thank you! I'd never have figured that out otherwise. If anyone can prove me wrong, please do, but it looks like King of the Wind=Path of the New Dynasty! Another alternate title (from wiki.d-addicts.com/Hong_Ri_Na ) is The Great King's Road. BTW, here's a link to a cool article about royal portraits and it explains why we don't have a real Dong Yi portrait: dramasrok.wordpress.com/2010/07/21/searching-for-original-portraits-of-king-sukjong-and-his-family/
