Yes i myself go hot and cold on it .Its like Boys Over Flowers crossed with Conspiracy In The Court. It actually, despite the sheer plethora of boy band members was a huge flop.
Next MBC Historical ONJO BIRYU A semi sequel to Jumong and SBS has TO THE EMPEROR nothing known about this .

A little late posting this, but Dong Yi's got some awards.
* 2010 MBC Drama Awards: Grand Prize (Han Hyo Joo)
* 2010 MBC Drama Awards: Male Top Excellence Award (Ji Jin Hee) Definitely
* 2010 MBC Drama Awards: Female Excellence Award (Lee So Yeon) I'm not sure what to think of this one, considering that she's a banshee.
* 2010 MBC Drama Awards: Female Newcomer Award (Park Ha Sun) I once assumed that the actress playing Queen Inhyeon was older than Han Hyo Joo, but I later found out she's actually a few months younger than she is. Surprise surprise
* 2010 MBC Drama Awards: Drama of the Year Award Not my favorite drama of 2010, that position goes to Chuno, but even so, still worth a watch in my eyes.
* 2010 MBC Drama Awards: Special Child Actor Award (Kim Yoo Jung, Lee Hyung Suk) Rightfully so. Those two were fantastic in there roles
* 2010 MBC Drama Awards: Golden Acting Award (Kim Yoo Suk) This is the guy who played Jang Hee Jae. Golden Acting? Really? This guy was over the top annoying, unless the real Jang Hee Jae was really like that. Or Koreans in general like that kind of acting
* 2010 MBC Drama Awards: Female Popularity Award (Han Hyo Joo) Yep. She's a great actress. Hope to see her in more.
Also, here's fun trivia. Han Hyo Joo's role model is Ko Hyun Jung. I don't blame her

Historical Trivia: From the memorial tablet of Choi Sukbin Translation @jackie/dramatomy.com ^ There have been people who complained that Dong Yi is too goody good; funny how people tend to moan about historical inaccuracies when the DOng Yi's personality is pretty accurate to what the tablet says. Maybe she is goody good, but even so, she still feels warmly human in my eyes. I don't remember where the source of this information came from, but from what I know, when Choi Sukbin was pregnant with Yeoning-gun, Jang Heebin pushed her down a well in an attempt to drown her and kill the baby. Luckily the king saved her. Oh, and in previous Jang Heebin dramas, contrast with the one here, she tried resisting the poison; they had to force it down her throat in order to carry out the execution. There was a video that showed it but its missing now. I guess this makes me a horrible person, but i actually wish that the drama Dong Yi showed this, simply for the sake of showing how pathetic this woman was. Jang Heebin's portrayal somewhat reminds me of the Won Gyun in IYSS for some reason. And Jang Heebin was responsible for her son's infertility. When found out about killing the queen with voodoo magic, she hoped to kill herself to escape the consequences, but also hoped to take her son with her, so she got a knife, and she missed. And the knife hit the you know what.
I wonder how people react to these historical facts. The one that shocks me the most is when she tried drowning a pregnant Sukbin
WHat do people think of the awards as well?

Do not pay any attention to awards because it is stupid each network having their own ,that's how crap like Empress wins awards . Its better when you have an indie body voting on shows from all networks inc cable .
Saguek thanks for those translations because we are history starved ,Of the three Main East Asian nations Korea is the least written about (Japan the most only because they have the Samurai )so stuff like this is amazing . Btw do you have any gems of the characters in AOW ?like MUBY CHUNG KYUN KYUNG DAE SUNG LADY YIM YI UI MIN

One thing I always found strange when doing research was that Choi Sukbin was from the middle class; its funny because the musuri are usually lowborns. Of course there does exist the possibility her family sold her off as a slave or something else happened that made her rank go down. Supposedly her grandfather was also part of the State Council of Joseon, according to my research. Huh. A little different from what was shown in the drama. It would appear she had family members who had positions in office (she had a brother who was a captain). Other than that, nothing else is known.

It is not true to say with certainty that Lady Choi was a musuri. It was just a rumour that originated from the inner court. Historians have pointed out that the Soron Party might be actually responsible for the rumour as a way to undermine Yongjo's legitimacy to the throne. Some research shows that Lady Choi's father was indeed a military officer and that both her parents passed away early. Hence, it can be induced that she was probably send to work in the palace in order to support her family. Her grandfather was a not a state minister when he was alive. The title of state minister was posthumous and was only conferred upon him to honor the Choi family (now a royal relative) when Lady Choi became Sukchong's concubine.

Actually I found the translation from a comments section from a Kdrama fansite.
SO the musuri story may not be true after all.

Actually I found the translation from a comments section from a Kdrama fansite. SO the musuri story may not be true after all. Well, no one really knows the reliability of the story. Here's an abstract from a book written by an expert historian in the field In fact the rumor was that she had been a musuri, the lowest type of slave, at Queen Inyon's quarters. This was definitely a matter of oral legend, but one unofficial account of how she came to Sukchong's attention tends to confirm it. She was observed by Sukchong while she was performing a secret birthday ceremony for Queen Inhyon in the palace after the queen's departure. Queen Inhyon had been deposed in 1689, and until her restoration in 1694, she had been forced to live in private quarters, and most of her more significant attendants had accompanied her. Only Queen Inhyon's more lowly or insignificant attendants would have remained at the palace.....
In any case, lady Choe first appears int he sillok in 1693 when Sukchong made her a lady of the fourth rank. It was only after she bore him three sons, two of whom died in infancy, that she achieved first rank.
If she really had been a musuri, she certainly did quite well for herself. Not only had she achieved first rank and mothered a king, but she would go on to become a lady of high virtue. She acquired this reputation by informing Sukchong of Lady Chang's practice of black magic, which had supposedly contributed to Queen Inhyon's death in 1701. ...Both the Sillok and Min Chinwon, Queen Inhyon's brother, substantiate Lady Choe's role in directing Sukchong's attention to Lady Chang's activity. But all in all, she must have never been fully accepted in Sukchong's court. Both Sukchong's extreme sensitivity to the official treatment of Yongjo and Yongjo's caution in honoring her suggest it.
