''Path Of The New Dynasty "was part of MBC's "500 Years Of Joseon "series that ran in the late 80's . Chances of seeing this drama ???well it would be easier to get blood from a stone ,the whole thing ran like 800 eps over 5 years ,it was never subtitled or if it was ever shown here maybe Hawaii only . There was some clips on youtube depicting Yonsan and Chang Nok Soo as well as Kwanghae and Lady Kim Gae Hee and of course our fave the lady of the hour Jang Hyobin /Hee Bin ,but they had no audio and were removed for some reason .(MBC ?).

Pilseung or anyone! Do you know of a drama showed on MBC called "Path of The New Dynasty"? If you do, can you direct me to where I can view this drama. That drama showed a photo of the real Dong Yi. Please all search the annals of you mind for this drama. (Pilseung I can hear you snickering)!!!! ;D Do you mean a portrait painting? I don't think that cameras were in existence at the time she lived. I would also like to see what the REAL DONG YI looked like - I hope someone can find that drama and giver us a link to it. Soapygrams, yes a portrait, I am well aware photos did not exist back then, I am British I speak like that.

This drama is coming to an end soon. I'm going to miss this series. As usual, Lee Byung-hoon delivers. Can't wait to see what he'll do next. Maybe he should pair up with the writer of DJG again.
I wonder how it will end? Will it end with Dong Yi's death? Or will it have a happy ending (something few Korean historicals I've seen have. DJG is one, as well as Dae Wang Sejong (I only saw the end of the series, not the entire thing- I want to watch it though)).
So mugwump, where do you place this on your list of favorites?

I'm reserving judgment til I see the last two episodes. However, I have started compiling my list of awards.

''Path Of The New Dynasty " = 800 eps?!!!! O.O That's incredible. x.x I can't imagine sitting down for 800 eps but of course since it was aired over 5 years ... if it is available on dvd, the number of discs is . . . meh. Hope someone manages to find that portrait of Dong Yi. P.S. Was watching some DJG NGs earlier for some laughs. In one blooper, the soldiers were ordered to search for the fugitives. *fugitives* So one or two extras were slipping on the floor or failing to slide the door open but the most hilarious antic that tickled me was neither of those because I'm trying to imagine *fugitives* practising yoga in the small cabinets. ;D

Yeesh, domyoungchun, you sure get your facts wrong. Path of the Great Dynasty, or 대왕의길 isn't part of the 500 Years of Joseon Dynasty series. Path oif the Great Dynasty is a Crown Prince Sado story, but there is a similar story in 500 Years titled Memoirs of Lady Hyegyong, with Sado played by Choi Soo-jong. THose who have seen Yi San should know what its about, and the funny thing is, it's directed by the same guy! Ran from April 15,1998 to August 13, 1998. Guy who plays Sado is Im Ho, the king in DJG. Lady Hyegyong played by Hong Rina. I found it funny that years later Kyun Miri, who played the aunt of Rina's character, would have the same role. She also played Sukjong's mother in another Jang Hee-bin drama. I mentioned before she played Dong Yi as well. Park Yejin (Chulin and Cheonmyeong) also played Dong Yi as well in a KBS version. Here's a link to what I believe is a photo of her, since it won't show up as a picture. tvzonebbs.media.daum.net/griffin/do/talk/program/isan/read?articleId=11797&bbsId=249_aCna't find any of Kyun Miri Clips: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFfb8SJr2is&feature=relatedTIMELINE: Dong Yi-Jang Hee Bin story Path of the Great Dynasty-Madness of Crown Prince Sado Yi San- Story of King Jeongjo TIMELINE in 500 Years series Queen Inhyeon- Jang Hee Bin story Memoirs of Lady Hyegyong-Madness of Crown Prince Sado Pa Mun- Story of King Jeongjo, though this one also includes his successor's reign as well. The San and Song Yeon love story is probably not there either No wonder truth says that Lee Byung-hoon seems to make the same thing over and over. He directed 500 Years also.

OMG, that's a very distressing scene to me. I really feel sorry for Prince Sado.
Was he mad or was he a victim? I can't decide.

Seen episode 59 and I gotta say,Dong Yi has really lost its zing.I liken this to a 400m race where with 100m to go,Dong Yi was way ahead and then it just lost its legs for the final stretch.
