Yeah, at this point, they're pretty annoying to me, but I think he should just come out and say 'NO' himself, he keeps beating around the bush, but seeing the kind of people those two are, I'm pretty sure if he does say NO, they won't accept so easily.

uhh. i don't like ki-joon's mom. she seems so pretendious about herself. for example, on one of the epsiodes, she wants to dress better than her soon-to-be-daughter-in-law's mother. Plus, if she wants to be elegant, then, she shouldn't have that annoying and nagging voice and personality. And what's with money and social level being important in finding a spouse? whatever happen to finding true love.

I thought it was hilarious today when Ok-soon covers her ears and tells Ki-joon's sister "Your mother is going to make me go deaf". I think everybody feels that way

I really don't like how Ki-jun's mom treats her younger sister. It's terrible. I say her younger sister and the husband should just move out somewhere else. I really admire how the younger sister can put up with her older sister's crap.

why does she treat her younger sister like a maid? i honestly thought she was her maid. Money. Ok-jin has it; Ok-soon doesn't. Some people think having money excuses ill-mannered boorish behavior. When these people are family, one puts up with it for the family's sake (I know this from personal experience).

What did Ki-jun's aunt mean when she told her sister that one time that to speak ill of her meant to speak ill of their parents? Did anyone catch that part in the episode? I forgot which episode it was but it was the same one where Ki-jun's aunt told Jin-ah (Ki-jun's sister) that she was going to go deaf because of her mom.

Maybe it's related to that "How did your parents raise you?" insult that mean MILs always saw to their child's new spouse.

Another thing. When they were driving grandpa home, they all were laughing that Ki-joon's mom was named "Ok-jin" and her sister was named (I think) "Ok-ja"--maybe it was a different sister. Anyway, they all laughed hilariously. I wonder what THIS name means or sounds like. (Yes, I remember the mother on OMR and that's why I said this.) Bo

Hey, I watched this scene this morning and the sister's name is Ok-ja. The other insult I noticed (besides how the parents raised me), was when Ok-ja says, "I have a husband, and he loves only me." Did you all notice that? The clear implication was that Ok-jin's husband had fooled around, don't you think? It sure shut her up quick.

Probably. Whenever Ok-jin puts down her sister, Ok-ja comes back strong with a comment about how much her husband loves her and how good he is to her. Ok-jin's clearly jealous of her younger sister. LOL...I loved it when Ok-ja told Hee-joo that one time on the phone that Ok-jin was using the bathroom that's why she was taking so long to get the phone. And Ok-jin waved her hand at her sister, "Shut up!"

Yes, Lovely, that scene we're talking about here was particularly hilarious. It really limned the relationship between Ok-ja and Ok-jin.
Now, perhaps Melissa's DH will let us in on the secret of why their names are so funny.
