but, wait, remember when the whole Yoo family was in a car one time, while they were picking granddaddy up? well, why were they all laughing at the names? BAE! Did you read the posts above yours? Xelaevoli explains it. They're hick names. You know, for "ignorant" country folk. Bo

...ki-joon's mom is keeping me from falling in love with this show, she is the most irritating character i have seen in eight on and off years of k-dramas.... What I can't stand is her mouth. The way she twists it up and holds it there. I keep thinking, "Your face will freeze that way!" But of course, it already has. Bo

What's up with those tranquilizer drugs? After Ki-jun left the house after yet another mother-son argument, Ok-jin was about to faint. She yelled, "Ok-ja! Tranquilizer!" LOL! And Ok-ja came right away. I really liked how Ok-jin hung on to her sister's hand while the drug was taking effect. That's like the first time I see Ok-jin showing any affection for her younger sister.

Ok-Jin rocks! She is the most irritating, selfish, hateful character I've ever seen on Korean tv. The actress gives a tour-de-force presentation! That voice! The inflection is SO rich to me as someone who doesn't understand Korean. My husband listens nearby as he works on the computer and he says that her voice is like that of nails on a chalkboard. What a broad!! Oh, excuse me!

It reminded me of an old Sherlock Holmes film that ends with Sherlock calling imperiously to his side-kick, "Watson, the needle!"

Ok-jin is so bad! It was bad enough that she went to In-young's workplace and humiliated her in front of her co-workers. I can't believe she even like shook In-young out of her sleep after Ki-jun told her that she fainted outside. Ok-jin is very wicked.

I can't believe she even like shook In-young out of her sleep after Ki-jun told her that she fainted outside. Ok-jin is very wicked. Oh, man, I was wishing Ki-joon would shake her off him and send her flying so he could go rescue In-young. That woman is practically insane in her refusal to face reality and her insistence on getting her way despite the fact that that ship has long since sailed. I mean, come on, the "engagement" between the two of them (KJ and Bratty Girl) was over the minute she rammed his taxi with her car. If you have to commit a crime against the person you love in order to obtain him, I think that counts as, um, counterproductive, to say the least. I understand about observing the formalities of filial obedience, but it's just ridiculous for him to do anything and everything rather than say to his mother, "No! There is no way on earth I'm marrying that woman, and that is a promise. Butt out!" Because that's what she needs to hear. What he's doing is passive-aggressive. He needs to stand up and be counted, to set his mother straight and let the chips fall where they may, instead of just protesting in reaction to things she does. It's all well and good for him to move out, but if he then stops things from naturally coming to a head, he's undercutting his own efforts. And by the way, shouldn't he have said to the hotel clerk something like, "So you'll let anyone who says they're a guest's mother check them out and take their luggage? Nice security policy; I'm taking my business elsewhere." And then call the police and report his stolen luggage.

oh man... BansheeMom does hold the award for most unlikeable. She's probably sombody's mom, grandma, really a nice lady. I would think she has the most fun of all the actors.
When she broke into KiJoon's hotel room.. hmm, isn't it a standard security procedure that the front desk calls the guest to let them know there's a visitor?... but then, this is not the Ritz Carlton.

This woman is really unstable, especially when she told Ki-joon that he's been her husband, lover and son since her husband died. She says she loves her son, but has done everything to control his life.
I hope a different story line comes through because it's becoming boring just seeing this constant conflict between Ki-joon and his mother. At least with MPC, the scenes changed to different households, but here it just escalates until Ki-joon will want to poison his mother just so that he can lead his own life.
I just can't see why he doesn't take a stand against his mother and Hee-joo. Poor In-young is under so much stress that she actually gets sick, but then wakes up, in the hospital, to see Ki-joon caressing her face and hands.

I loved what In-young's aunt said after Ki-joon dropped of the fruit basket: "I can't believe he came out of a woman like that."

LOL! In-young's aunt is the bomb. She's so cool. I wonder if she'll know about Ki-jun's mom coming over to In-young's workplace and humiliating her like that? What I want to see is In-young's aunt running over to Ki-jun's house and face off with Ki-jun's mom once again. Ok-ja will be in the background screaming for help. That would be quite a scene.
