Oh, Sandy, that's hilarious! I don't think I've ever seen a K-drama where poisoning was employed to get rid of a MIL (although MPC sort of hinted)--now THAT would be interesting.

TheBo, I just wonder how many of us have thought of the same idea. Ok-jin is always telling her sister "aren't you going to make me some tea?" Hey, a drop of "this and that" might just make his life free.
What's really disturbing is how Hee-joo calls his mother, "Mother", even though there aren't any plans for them to marry.

Hee-joo deserves Bansheewoman as a mother-in-law(too bad a husband would have to suffer)--they compliment one another so well. It would be hilarious to see those two get into an argument--they'd give one another migranes. What a deadly duo!

Ki-joon's mother practically gives me a head-ache when she shouts and screams. I mean, this woman is really controlling and evil. Just wait until Hee-joo doesn't come up to her MIL's plans if they marry.
In a teaser scene, in Korean, Ki-joon's mother is seen at the ocean where her son is kneeling in the sand devastated because In-young left. I'm sure her presence isn't going to warm his wounded heart.

Probably. Whenever Ok-jin puts down her sister, Ok-ja comes back strong with a comment about how much her husband loves her and how good he is to her. Ok-jin's clearly jealous of her younger sister. LOL...I loved it when Ok-ja told Hee-joo that one time on the phone that Ok-jin was using the bathroom that's why she was taking so long to get the phone. And Ok-jin waved her hand at her sister, "Shut up!" haha yea those two are funny...usually u think the older one is more wise then the younger one....and is the role model...but its the other way around between them...^^

It's kind of a study of the ridiculous. The younger one is more mellow intelligent but just acts flighty to keep the older one off her back and to try and suffer through the insults she receives more easily. The older one is so into being respected among her peers that she doesn't take her role as family elder seriously and acts like a fool both in her family and among her peers. I guess that they're trying to show that she's lower class but trying to act like upper class - she's loud and coarse because she's trying to prove herself, unlike all her friends who are genteel because they are comfortable with themselves.
I'm glad of the conflict that Inyoung brought into the family because having someone finally talk back to Okjin might actually make her take a look at herself. Or not.

I think it's a good point that Ok-jin really came from a more humble background, but uses her screeching voice and over-bearing demeanor to control those around her. With her wealthy friends, she's a different person, always playing the part of an upscale widow. Didn't she become wealthy because of her husband?
It was interesting in a recent episode how Ok-jin shut her sister up when she mentioned that they came from a more humble background. Ok-jin constantly remarks about the lower status of the family that In-young came from which, in American terms, seems to be just middle class.
I think In-young is really having second thoughts about marrying Ki-joon, especially as she has more work related dealings with Jae-min. With Jae-min, she'll have a normal, productive life than with the craziness of Ki-joon's family except for Ok-ja who is normal.

oh man... BansheeMom does hold the award for most unlikeable. She's probably sombody's mom, grandma, really a nice lady. I would think she has the most fun of all the actors. Actually, I think her only son passed away recently. About 1 or 2 years ago. He was only 34 at the time of passing and she was somewhere else on location when she heard of his death. I think he got into a car (?) accident. They had a picture of her when she was crying. It was so sad, that I couldn't picture her as a SM. But she really is a good actress to make her viewers react to her character as we do. Mission accomplished, I guess on her part. (re. acting)

I always get into the show because of her. When ever she goes off and starts yelling, I always have to stop myself from yelling back at my t.v.

This is ScreechMom's brain: I really want a grandbaby. OK, I won't stress DIL. Hey, DIL is being disobedient! CLEAR THE DECKS- I'll teach that girl-wash that china, tote that barge, no interruptions of this important work, nag, nag etc. The preview shows KJ hollering at SM-good for him. Also can't wait for aunt's visit.

I think the son just recently got married or was about to, before his death. So don't know about the grandkids. But I believe she'll have made a fantastic grandmother & MIL, unlike her character portrays.
