I don't know about you guys, but this show just got a lot more interesting to me. Agreed! ;D I was also an unenthusiastic viewer until Jini turned cold and ruthless. That’s when she finally became interesting. Also (I may be in the minority here) but I’m GLAD to see Eunho go. Something about his relationship with Jini just kept creeping me out out. It always looked to me as if he were a 14-year old boy pursuing a grown-up adult woman. YES Mikey... Eunho had the same effect on me. There are some 7th 8th grade boys at the school where I work that could run circle aroung Eunho... and they are 12 and 13. Eunho had a nice speaking voice and his lines were well delivered... but his image just wasn't convincing. I was ready to stop watching this as well, but now that Jini has place revenge at the top of her ToDoList, she becomes a much more interesting character. The 4-year jump in time was disappointing. I really was waiting for the competition. The final scene last TH was oustanding. Ripping up that beautiful dress was so unexpected and ruthlessly accomplished. So do we think that the Joesun music will prevail?

I have liked Hwang Jini from the beginning but I agree that her love with Eunho seemed to drag on too long, but we must remember that it was that first love that turns her into the cold woman that she becomes. So for that reason alone it was a very important part of the drama. The obvious age difference creeped me out at first also, until I relized that the actress playing Jini had to be older than the actor playing Eunho because she continues to play the adult Jini. This is a problem in several dramas when the adult actors need to play the charactors as teenagers.

Also, like in DJY, the sudden love story also came of as unrealistic, but I keep having to keep the number of episodes in mind.

Of course that did make what happened in eppy 8 that much more convincing. The other point about the time jump is also very true -- not much they could do about that.

rosapip, the main events of yesterday's episode revolved around the continuing theme of Jini's revenge. The main developed plot lines are that Jini had refused to dance because she felt that Baekmu's dances were not having enough dedication and called her a clown and said if she had talent but no dedication, then her dance would be garbage. There's some sort of competiton going on and a school of the arts or something like that is opening up in Songdo. Jini wants to take the place of Baekmu and she joins hands with Maehyang to learn the knife dance. Baekmu does not stop Jini even though several of the Songdo troupe members try to beat Jini up because of her betrayal and their thirst for power.
Booyoung has started to like JungHan, the young minister, but he seems to be showing interest in Jini, who's in turn indifferent to him. Mr. Byeok, who comes off to me a playboy, has now developed some attraction towards Jini. He's doing whatever he can to make sure that she spends a night with him. She was supposed to be a part of some important ball, but it got canceled because the man hosting the event was threatened by Byeok. She's agreed as of now to be with him for one night under the false pretenses of missing him too much. That's where the show ends.
Basically, those were the important scenes in the show. Everything was a continuation of "Jini gone Bad". If I missed something, which is likely, maybe someone else can fill you in.

At the end of the previous ep. Jini tore the poem out of her underskirt and burned it in front of the Chinese diplomat. Everyone was shocked and scared but Jini was calm as she recited the poem back to him. She had learned it by heart, upside down, as he wrote it! He was impressed but not quite mollified until she said...(somebody fill in here please)
There was sort of a comic scene with one of the kisaeng spending the night with Eunho's friend (not a nice guy, kind of a pest). She was asking for money at each stage of undressing.

Did you guys see the previews for the next episode? I was cracking up when Jini said she would compensate Mr Byeok for him spending the night with her. I wonder how he felt with the tables turned lol. I'm really enjoying this show, even though I get all these men confused.

But wait, what did she say to the diplomat that spared her life?

Thank you HappyCamper, I thought I was the only one getting the two main men confused. They look so much alike and I can't quite remember which is which. Do they both like Jini, or does one of them like the other Gisaeng, the pushy one from the other troupe. It was bothering me while I was watching it last night. Can someone please help me differentiate between them.

Jini said something to the effect that as long as his poem was in her memory, she shouldn't depend on the written words, as if they would then become some kind of crutch. It all seemed like fast talking back peddling to me, but it worked and ended up saving Joesen's music. She has really improved her playing. That can't be an easy instrument. PS to BAE… My bad. I didn't mean you on the DJY post, but I appreciate your consideration, and sorry if it caused you or JP any hassles.

He lives near where the other troop (not Baekmu's) was, and the young ambitious girl likes him a lot, but I think he just enjoys her company (but I think he's going to get interested in Jini). He kind of looks like a movie star. The other is more likeable (to me); he's the one who didn't want to work for the king, but otherwise he'd have to drink poison. He plays the flute. He seems respectful to Jini, not entitled like the other guy. He didn't like hearing Jini saying that she'd like to spend the night with the other guy.

The flute player, who was named a minister of music, is Kim Jae Won. He played the lead in the comedy/drama, Great Expectations. He was the gangster who inherited a kindergarten from his mother. I really enjoyed him in that show and have watched tapes of it several times. He is interested in Jini, but has not declared himself yet. He is not at all as arrogant as Baeok??? the man she paid off when he expected to spend the night with her.

Thanks everyone, after last nights episode I do have a better understanding of the two men. I knew that the one looked familiar, thanks for letting us know he is from "Great Expectations". I loved it when the minister of music, who I like the best, told the other guy that he should spend more time with his wife rather than with Gisaengs. I wonder if Jini will like either one of the men, I hoping for the minister of music. I also like her bodyguard, he is quiet but very good looking.
