Does anyone watch the SBS history drama 'Yeon Gae So Moon'? Because the actor who played Yi Young Nam on IYSS plays Xue Rengui in that drama. I'm watching, but I must be WAY behind you, since I don't recall seeing Xue Rengui just yet (Gaesomun is still very much a young man in the episodes I'm watching). However, I'm now looking forward to seeing "Young Nam" in a rather different role in the weeks ahead.

If you live in Chicago, you can see Yoo Tae Woong (Yi Young Nam) in the daily drama A Woman's Choice. It airs Monday through Friday somewhere between 3pm and 4pm. He plays the role of Na Young Gyu. It's different from his roles in IYSS and YGSM but thought I'd share for all his fans. I'm surprised nobody mentioned that before. Yoo Tae Woong (Na Young Gyu)

I find that the actor was more handsome as Yi Young Nam, though ...just my opinion, but I don't find him anything to scream and dance about now, lol. He just looks like the ordinary man he really is.

I shouldn't be, but this guy is making me laugh. His expressions, and the sounds that come out of his mouth when frustrated are unintentionally funny. The scene at the table where he had to bite his tongue with Li Wen was classic. He and Kaigu are priceless. Plus any big meeting with warriors/dignitaries seated around the conference table can't begin until he walks in and gives a loud grunt before sitting down. Even last night with the Shilla King, and DJY at the table, no one spoke until after Xue cleared his throat with a big "ahemmm…" His shaky thing was missing tho.

Exactly, Zorro; the last few episodes have caused me to like him a lot less, but I can't help finding his grunts and occasional stroking of his hair absolutely hysterical. But yes...I was deeply disappointed to find that he wasn't carrying his feather duster .

Xue is in a good position now that his most pressing assignment for the upcoming Han Fort battle will be to be in charge of the chuck wagon! If Wen continues to underestimate his enemies he will become mincement for Dae Jo Young and Xue will be rid of a serious rival. ;D

This is true. I like the character of Li Wen even though he's a pompous jerk most of the time, but he is a rather daunting opponent for Xue Ren-Gui and if he continues to be carelessly verbose, he will be gone in no time. But, he's a tactful man, I'm sure he'll find some way to stay alive. After all, Li Hae-Go isn't as lofty as Li Wen, but he's managed to stick around longer than I would like for him to have.

Maybe if he runs the supply line he can get himself some steamed buns!
He's been very cranky lately without his steamed buns.

I had the same thought, ajk--What is he complaining about? He can just help himself to some nice, hot, steamed buns while everyone else fights! ;D

Well, i think the actor portrays that kind of character really well...and makes him very distinct from "The ArchFiend" of Age of Warriors...so i feel like i am seeing a totally different character. i wonder how he compares to the historical character?

i wonder how he compares to the historical character? If he's anything remotely like the character, then truly they lived in "interesting" times. As for the actor himself, I'll bet he cut up the cast and crew so many times in out-takes that they had to take bathroom breaks.

I wouldn't be surprised myself if there were cuts where his fellow actors burst into laughter, zorro. It is just hilarious when, like you said earlier, Xue clears his throat with a big ''ahem" and sits down. And right before the scene ends, how Xui will kinda sigh "Eh-heh...", or give a little irritated "Aigu, aigu..." it is so priceless.

I was happy to see him front and center again after a few episodes ago when I think he was on camera only once or twice and had *no* lines in the whole show. (??) It's supposedly five or six years later, (guessing by Geom's age) and Xue's still taking on and schooling all comers in his training camp. The guy is an amazing warrior that's for sure. One sequence against DJS had him twirling three times in mid air. Great effects in that sparring scene, but you know they were each holding back so as not to show all their tricks to each other. Then he walks away with his arms up in the air, which always makes me think he's walking through saloon doors. But I bet they're both sore in the morning.
