ohdarlin- oh no! If Min loves keum young, then JG would have died in a second! He saved her life sooo many times...Even if Keum young does not turn her back at JG, Lady Choi would have come up with an evil scheme to kill her. I think the story was better with Min loving JG, because.. 1. They are adorable together 2. Keum Young is viewed with hate but also pity at the same time 3. If Min loved Keum Young, it would be like him going to the "bad" side... ditto. ;D Hmmm... I think there was A LOT of nodding of heads which sometimes kinda irritate me... Oh yes, also it'll be much better if the cooking scenes could get the actresses to do them themselves ;D But I understand that the real chef was there cos if not there will not be the professionalism and talent of JG, LH, LC, GY etc ;D Well but maybe find more similiar hands? ;D and there were actresses wearing modern high heels...

Here are the things I would change:
1. I would recast Lee Young-Ae for myself. 2. I would add more love stories between Sir Min and I. Especially right after the exile encounter.
Seriously, I would add a bit more of the life between Sir Min and Jang Geum after the exile.

aw i agree. i think LYA did a reallyyyyy good job, but i just wish that the drama was a little bit extended just so that we would see JG and Min's life together as a married couple... aww... clare-- did you not like LYA?

Djangum, I adore LYA... don't take me wrong, I'm a healthy girl with that loves boys, but LYA's beauty transcend gender and I find her to be the most beautiful, graceful woman.. What I meant to say is tha Me, Clare, would've love to be the one getting Ji Jin-Hee's attention. Clare

ei.. me! me! me! if i could change one thing in the drama, i could have shown how keum young lived after she was banished from the palace... did she continue to cook wonderful menus and made her own restaurant in the process... did she ever get a boylet and she came out of slavery...

The ONE thing I really really really wished they could show, was the moment when DJG and MJH finally get together and "make love" for the first time. They showed the King and Lady Suk Wo (sp?) why not the main characters? I don't mean like show us more than we need, but just the moment, when they finally stop running away and settle and .......tadadada! Good to think about this sort of thing on a cold and rainy day! LOL
So, here is a question, was there a "wedding ceremony" back on those days? how did people get married?

Jasmine, I would've like to seen that too. One of the most poignant moments of the series is when she's leaving the palace encunters SJK and says to him: "promise me that if we meet in the a next life, you'll say something else to me than "I'm sorry"" HOW SAD IS THAT??!!! .... and just so all you know I already tag Ji Jin-Hee to end as my life partner in my next life time! I want a strong love relationship like the one with DJG, but without the pain and drama. Just loads of loving. I want him to look just the way he looks now though.

i am not sure if it really WAS a wedding ceremony... remember the head of the internal affairs receiving the special note(made by the king before he died) and "delivering" JG finally to MJH?? i mean, that really gave JG the freedom (as a palace woman) to marry someone...
RECALL: the scene was MJH (alreardy exiled and poor) bowing to the note/command given by the king with the assistance of that internal affairs guy...
clare: actually, keum young, i say, had a very deep love.. loads of it!!! though it was a sad ending.. huhuhu...

hello! i'm from ukfan's board....i like to look around here at times because its a pretty neat board ;D. anyway, i found this topic and since ukfan mentioned lady han not dying here's my tale: hmm....well after i saw the whole thing the first time i came up with this: Lady Han wasn't burried in a shallow grave, instead she was left lying there. some innocent doctor passes by and finds that she isn't dead she's just um...i don't know....something... ..and so he treats her back to health and she works for him to pay for the medicine and all....she doesn't know anything about Jang Geum and vice versa. Later, after Jang Geum went back to the palace, Lady Han finishes repaying her debt (it was expensive medicine!! ) and sets off for the capital. when she gets there she looks for a place to hide around for the time being. since she learned a bit of medicine here and there, she goes to work for JanG De (Jang Geum's medicine teacher) and of course its soap opera irony that this woman also taught Jang geum but they never really say anything. Lady Han hides around and then she realizes who Jang De is but she doesn't confront her. Instead she eavesdrops on them everytime Jang Geum comes by....Later at the "trial" Lady Han shows up and Lady Min faints!! (i can so imagine her doing that) and Lady Choi is like about to blow... . then Lady Han is renamed top lady......and then at the very end when the queen becomes the king's mother Lady Han becomes her assistant.....and somewhere along the line Jang Geum has to save Lady Han of an illness......cuz that would be cool!! haha... ;D have a nice day!

I would have like a better ending for Keum Young too. Her love is so tragic, like Eponine in Les Miserables. But who could blame her though, look at MJH. What a catch, and she was like this close.. Clare does need a cold shower . It would have been really out of character for them to do what you suggested although most of us would have been really happy to see at least a little smack on the lips. As it was, we were only given some intense scenes of serious hand holding. Somehow, it worked. I don't think they had a proper wedding as they were running for their lives. They would have had one in ordinary circumstances.

Clare honestly, i was mad that they did not show this part .... ^^ but.... i think the director or writer chose the right thing to do, because JG and Min's love was "pure." They were not in love because of appearances but because of who they were and how they were meant to each other. Also, I think that since the drama was to be ended abruptly because of LYA's request, the director did not want to stall time to have the love scene, because new questions would rise... like... would they get married? where would they stay? Would they have a scene where LYA gets pregnant? this would all take too much time than expected, and besides, the key part of the scenes after JG and Min get together is the scene where their daughter, Sohun, hangs around with the guys and gets in trouble. this scene is an exact imitation of the first few scenes in the very beginning of the drama, where JG did the same thing. i thought this was real cute. so i guess the director just wanted to go straight to the point that JG and Min lived happily ever after, with their daughter who is a lot like JG. but. dont get me wrong please. i would have loved to see the scene.

BRAVOW!! I remember the scene when JG's adoptive parents got reunited with JG's new family. (Recall: JG and MJH entered the house first, payed their respects by bowing to her parents as husband and wife(i think this is a korean custom right?), then their daughter enters and she got shocked as well as Duk Gu coz she previously tricked him on something (direction towards a place) while the three of them were on the run.) LOL... that scene of making love could have been a shock.. the audience find it customary for JG and MJH to hug (tightly sometimes..hehehe) and just to hold hands(barely!!).. so it was really a good choice for them not to show it... and im sure clarelovesjijinhee could have passed out there and then!!! or would they be delighted if they see the naked body or butt of JJH..*drool* LOL..

LOL. wow i can't imagine JJH naked in DJG. xD I'm also disappointed that they didn't have a kiss scene. aww in episode 40 (or the episode with the first tight hug scene X] ), they were SUPPOSED to have a kiss scene then. aw if only LYA had not objected but it was hilarious because JJH smiled all of a sudden when the director told them to kiss, and his lips were twitching ... hahaha

LOL. but it was hilarious because JJH smiled all of a sudden when the director told them to kiss, and his lips were twitching ... hahaha is it like this? maybe, he was warming up his lips.. **drool** hey, is this the hug after he rescued JG from the premises of a burning house? i think i saw a clip in youtube that showed MJH hugging JG tightly and the director gently slapped(or something like that) the hand of MJH? i mean the crew was laughing when they showed this behind the scene take during the DJG reunion (with LYA dressed up in a lovely green dress)
