Thanks dethscithe! I understand their animosity but not Biwu's towards Mimosa. Did I miss something? Well there was that time when Mimosa insisted that Biwu had to die for working with Xue Rengi. Since then Biwu has always been looking for a reason why Mimosa should be killed or punished. I also suspect that Geumlan might have something to do with it. Speaking of Geumlan and Biwu. Both had major relationships with Xue but those relationships are never eluded to even when they are in scenes with Xue. It's a bad omission by the writers.

Thanks Warrior. You always come through with the answer. I had forgotten about the Rengui thing between Biwu and Mimosa.
And as for Rengui and Geumlan: there was a scene after the DYC League is dismantled and its members are tied up and in jail. Rengui sees Geumlan among the prisoners and the look on his face speaks volumes (anger, sadness, longing, regret - he's such a good actor) but she just grits her teeth and turns away. I got the impression that she hated having to be his sweetie but the cause was greater and, if nobody minds, she never wants to hear his name or mention him again. He of course, being a guy (no disrespect intended) will stuff any lingering emotion in favor of his pride.
Rengui and Biwu on the other hand had a sort of mutual respect (more on Rengui's part) so it is an omission that neither of them speaks of the other.

The Khitan's are Xue's friends and allies. Isn't that enough reason to be their advocate? Also isn't his ethnicity Khitan? I think Auhong is the most attractive of the women. Especially back when she was running the house of pleasure (whatever the proper term is). Unfortunately, she's stuck with the comic relief as her husband. Much as I like his character. i agree that is reason enough, AW. nice to see someone stand up for their friends and allies rather than running at the first sign of trouble. and yes, Xue (aka my beloved archfiend) is Khitan.

Last Sunday, Buwu started to look at Geumlan in a new light. I see romance budding and I'm glad for a little respite from the battle strategy and sword fighting. I do like the those scenes but there hasn't been much sexual tension since DJY and Chulin were on the run together.
DJY and Sukyeong seem a bit antiseptic tho I know they have sons by now,

Biwu and Geumlan would make a nice couple, don't you think? Everyone tries to act all proper except Sudol who is a little more open with his affections towards Auhong. Cute!

Sudol is a teddy bear. My sister, not a K-drama fan at all, is forced to watch when she's visiting. The only thing she likes about the whole, wonderful story is Sudol.

i like sudol, the wolf and his sidekick but lately i think they are taking the bumbling warriors routine a little too far. they have provided comic relief and it has been enjoyable....but i have never been a fan of the 3 stooges and that is what they have become, even more so than usual. what i like most of all now is how much DJY has improved since the accelerated time warp. he is much more animated, shows more emotional dimensions....i am now watching with renewed interest and excitement. he is quickly becoming my second favorite character. [well you don't really think anyone will come first over xue rengui (my beloved archfiend) do you? i never did change my name. forget the past (choi bu) this is now.] i was disappointed when i first saw who his son with chulin was....alas i let my prejudice against him from AOW color my feelings...in the beginning. i am now quite fond of this young man. after the end of last night's episode i wonder if the light is beginning to dawn for DJY about who this young man really is. as for li kaigu....he has become nothing more than a thug and a puppet...well, i suppose he has always been to some degree, but now it is more than ever. once again, i have no respect for him even after continuing to love chulin and treating DJY's son as his own. my interest in the show is heightened and i can't wait, once again, for the next episode.

I remember thinking the same thing about "the three stooges"( Sudol, Gaepil and Tungso ) luvarchfiend. They went from fierce warriors to clowns. Somehow it doesn't seem right. I don't think your disappointment with Geom will last long. I remember him from AOW too. You will really come to like and admire him. His character is awesome . If you think your disgust for Li Kaigu can't get any worse, it can.

I LOVE Geom's melting faun's eyes and his bold character. I didn't see AOW (at least I don't think I did. Some of these dramas have changable names depending on where one watches) so I have no point of comparison. (What does it stand for anyway?)
I like Sukyeong's sons less well. Maybe it's because they're young yet (13? 15?) and kind of spindly. The older one seems to have courage but why do his hair and clothes look so big on him?
And luvarchfiend, NOBODY can top Rengui! He keeps saying he's old but certainly not in spirit. His plan to confuse DJY by offering to give him the refugees in exchange for betraying the Khitans is masterful. But I have a question. How can Rengui give DJY anything? The Khitans are a separate nation now with their own king. The refugees belong to their land not to Tang.

puppy, AOW is Age of Warriors. I feel the same way about Geom. You are drawn to his eyes and he just gives off an aura of strength, both physically and character wise. I think they chose the actors on purpose. DJY and Sukyoung's sons look whimpy. Geom is DJY and Chulin's son and they wanted to make him a central part of the story even though he is fictional. As a matter of fact DJY and Sukyoung's son Dan is also fictional. One of their real sons in history betrayed Goguyeo and went to Tang's side.

Last nite's epi here in NY was a puzzler. For me anyway.
DJY accepts command of the Khitan army against the Tang. They battle. Rengui captures Lee Kaigu and DJY captures Li Wen. Now here's what I don't understand. DJY and Rengui are facing off. DJY holds a sword to Li Wen's neck and threatens to kill him. Rengui does the same with Kaigu. What's the deal? DJY already told Chulin he wouldn't trade prisoners and Rengui has this HUGE army that can likely murder the Khitan/DJY forces especially since DJS and the reinforcements are days away.
What's with all the prisoner-rattling back and forth? What is the strategy? Am I missing something?

puppy,
That's ep #92 isn't it? I can tell you things aren't always the way they seem.

It's episode 90. I assume that DJY is using this as a delaying tactic. Rengui is falling for it because of its effect on troop morale.

Nice tease, Tink. This show can sometimes move as slow as L or N does but it never annoys me.
And AW, you're saying DJY plans to dangle Li Wen until reinforcements come. Strange tactic but no stranger than tying branches to the horses' tails, I guess.
