OK, I'll reply to my own post since you "DJY in New York" guys are timing out.
Kaigu and Wen are back where they belong and DJY had a new strategy for beating the Tang with fewer soldiers. Ho-Hum, I'm sorry to say. This back and forth is wearing me down. What's Sukyeong going to do to protect herself when the enemy comes is what I want to know. And why wasn't there a happy scene of Chulin welcoming Kaigu back? I know it's a war story but a little more human interest, please. There's been hardly any since the 12-year break.
Nobody has to answer but I have to post.

It's called "filler' puppy. Ho-Hum is right. You knew they would do the exchange. The thing I remember most was Li Wen crying. It seemed out of character, but I did sort of feel sorry for him. Again, don't underestimate the Princess.

Again, don't underestimate the Princess. Li Wen must truly have been broken by those circumstances to have reacted that way.

sorry for 'timing out' puppy....it is difficult after being away from the board for so long to get back into regular posting. seven stars, i think you are quite right about li wen being broken. he is a completely changed man...for the better. now if only someone would give shin (chun su) his comeuppance and wipe that smirk off his face, i would be a happy woman. sorry everyone for not being able to remember character names...it is quite early here in the east....wonder what my excuse is on other occasions.... more and more i appreciate and admire geom....thought chulin's eyes were going to pop when she saw him and DJY together at the end of sunday night's show. but then again, eye popping is her forte

now, i am about to say something i thought i would never say... at the end of saturday's show, when we got the previews (a very rare thing these days, but i digress), i was in anguish over having to watch my beloved archfiend (aka xue rengui...yes, i can remember that one), die yet once again. the only comfort i had was that it would be during battle (and not the cowardly way that CCH murdered him in AOW...digressing again, sorry). at first when he was approached to use the disguise and try to escape i was all for it...this way he would continue on and my heart wouldn't be broken once again. watching him being convinced to play dead, and his own cowardly and humiliating behavior, i would have preferred that he was killed in battle. it seemed he had a break down of some sort before the battle began, or shortly thereafter (that memory thing again), and perhaps that had something to do with this uncharacteristic behavior, i sure hope that is it. i can't watch him become a mere shadow of his former self....if he is going to die, or become a sniveling, doddering old man....i want him going out on the battlefield, sword swinging, taking a few down with him (not one of the main character good guys)....to go out in a blaze of glory, honor intake. as it is now, he has no honor. and that breaks my heart even more. perhaps if he had his axe...

I thought the same thing about that scene luvarchfiend. It was so out of character for him that it was just plan weird.

I felt the same thing about Rengui as you did Tink and Luvarchfiend (glad to have you back, Luv!)
At first I couldn't understand why DJS didn't off Rengui. After all, his son is the commanding officer and he gave everybody the order (several times) to be sure and get Rengui's head. But now, after reading your post, you devilish fiend luver, I can see it. DJS wouldn't dirty his sword with a mere soldier, which is what Rengui, his noble enemy, had become hiding under a blanket. He'll wait to kill him when the playing field is even. Still...
Thanks for the update, Tinkerbell. I'm happy Chulin confessed even tho she was driven to it. I would have liked a tender moment between them, even a flashback to happier times. But oh well, this is history where BIG THINGS count and tender moments don't.

apparently XR's out of character/temporary cowardice, etc was short-lived. thankfully so. he is now back to his cunning, clever self. i figured out why he always has a fan...to hide facial reactions he doesn't want others to see....obviously he doesn't have a good poker-face. li kaigu is among my most disliked characters. i didn't like him in the beginning, i came to have a shred of respect for him after he helped chulin and claimed geom as his own. but over the weeks he just became low-down and despicable. but the person who wins the most despicable in this show is shin. i have never liked a character this actor plays (nothing against the actor) but i think this is the most evil and conniving and underhanded yet. i want to smack that smirk and sneer right off his face. can't wait for DJY to find out about geom...a welcome diversion (i hope). does emperor wu's voice bother anyone else? it dances on my last nerve. i am pleased there was less buffoonery (is that a real word?) last night. we came close with sudol and auhong, but that was kind of touching as well. chulin now takes the award for the most unhappy, stoic, troubled, wide-eyed and tormented facial expressions. she has long since surpassed DJY in this regard. well, there you have it...a few rambling thoughts and observations. i am sure you have all been on the edge of your seats anticipating my next visit and posting.

-sneaks in- lol It's crazy how much the good guys keep getting killed like y'all said. Still I caught ep 111 from beginning to end and I was all excited, I haven't watched in ages. Jungsang got stabbed by that kid but why oh why didn't geom kill the kid? Now everyone wll know it was him out there helping Jungsang. I wish it was Shin on the receiving end of that stab, he's so very tough to look at, yikes.

I agree Brooklyn, but it's not because he's ugly. As Luvarchfiend said he just seems too often to be cast in the role of "pitiable character of one variety or another".

Oh wow, I know no one's gonna reply to this probably, but we're at 124/125 I think. I can never remember to watch for the number at the beginning and now that the olympics have started, that's gonna make it worst.
Sudol died last weekend and I cried till I almost got the hiccups lol, what made it so terribly sad was that they showed flashbacks of him. Blah, it was so depressing cause now only 2 of the brothers are left and they had to leave his body on that mountain, I think it was. Pretty sad stuff.

Well, you're almost at the end, brooklyn, so you can stick it out. I know, that was a very sad episode, but he certainly went out a hero. You could tell, he pretty much knew he wasn't going to make it back but he went on the mission anyway and did a heck of a job. And yeah, you have to hope that later on they move his body to someplace more appropriate. I had that reaction too.
