I watch L or N and Dae Joyoung out of NYC and NE PA and am exactly up to the poison ep in DJY. I find we're a few eps. ahead of Chicago with the contemp but way behind with the historical. It makes it confusing to post especially since I'm new to this board (to fanboards in general) and make a lot of goofs.
I sometimes check out the East Coast Spoiler thread for DJY when it drags (They could have cut a good third out of the story and made it much more efficient. But I'm not complaining.) and I wonder where the spoiler posters are getting their info so far in advance. Everybody else watching out of New York, New Jersey and Northeast PA are even with us.
BTW, brooklyn, I'm originally Bronx.

That East Coast thread is really for Philadelphia so it doesn't help us. The Yi Soon Shin board was better about including episode numbers in thread titles.
I have to admit at the start of this episode I was rooting for the Shillans, Balhe, Turkish tribes etc. to take out our hero. Pouring piss and worse into the food...not cool.

That was disgusting Aging Warrior, you're right!
Sorry about that friends. We should probably have called the "East Coast" thread "Philly Thread".
Puppy, I think you're right in saying that they could've shortened the story without hurting it too much. All of the K-Dramas take artistic license with history, but DJY is exceedingly fantastic at times. Nevertheless, it's a lot of fun from my vantage point.
Good idea starting this thread Brooklyn. I'll probably chat more with you folks due to the fact that I so often fall behind using TiVO.

Puppy, if you're talking about the East Coast Spoilers and where they might get their info, they could be getting it from the Chicago Spoiler thread which presumably (I stay away from it) is well ahead of yours.
We only have 5 episodes left.

Zorro, Aging Warrior, brooklyn and puppy, I guess the thread should have been named something different. (My bad) The posts are from what we are currently watching and are not spoilers from the Chicago Spoiler thread.I personally don't want to be spoiled and don't read the CST. Back when the East Coast thread (not the Spoiler one) was started, it became known that New York was about 20 episodes ? behind us, so the spoiler thread was started. We have been trying to remember to put an episode # on the posts. If you have any ideas to correct this I'd be interested to know. If all of you post here, those ahead of you that may join in your discussion, MUST be cautious not to spoil anything for any of you. BTW , I agree with you Aging Warrior. That was a very disgusting scene and I'm surprised the other prisoners didn't kill DJY ,after all they were starving and he just ruined their rations for the day.

Tinkerbell,
You should be able to change the title by clicking "modify"...if for some reaosn that doesn't work, let me know what the title should be & i can post it.
Also, if you're willing to do the work & write up a schedule with episode #'s (as i have done - with Bo's help -- for Chicago & AZN, let us know so we can "sticky" it when you've done it.)
Also, try doing a search by episode number, or markng down what pages they're on, and you can pick up on old discussions, and add your fresh view on it.

I'm very happy with this thread, brooklyn et al. I often want to post on the DJY board but Chi is very far ahead of me so it would be a drag down for them to read it.
We're just about to get into the human hunt here, the empress once again condemning our hero to a fate where "nobody gets out alive". Of course he'll make it but HOW is the fun part. And as for Old Lady Wu, what a pistolshe is! I love her sneaky eyes and her little, greedy teeth.

So DJY stays up all night carving spears...and nobody takes over so he can get some sleep. Ingrates! How's he going to stay awake?
I would love them to show him protecting his left hand in the next episode. But he'll be able to use it just fine.
I am going to enjoy Li's humiliation. That Tang!
One of the charactors said that DJY had a Gogoryean accent. Does anybody know if the actors portraying Shilla, Bekje, etc. are using different accents?

I agree AW.
Why couldn't they have taken turns carving the spears?

Troughout the story so far (we're at Ep 75) DJY's thing seems to be staying alive no matter the odds and inspiring others to believe in themselves and follow him. His ideas are usually what saves the day, except when he had the prisoners' food beshat (whatta word). I never got that ploy and it kind of backfired.
Ganted, DJY fights hard but his forte seems to be teling the blood brothers and others what to do and urging them on if they falter. I guess that's what a leader does.
Now, this is totally from left field, but I'm thinking of the Hillary/Obama thing going on now. Some might argue that she's the slogging foot soldier while he fires up folks. She walks the walk; he talks the talk.
No political commentary intended; just a thought.

Aging Warrior,
I remember thinking the same thing. How did DJY make all those spears by himself with one knife AND stay awake all night? Couldn't the other men have at least tried sharping the bamboo against rocks to help make spears? If there was a battle the next day, how would DJY have the stamina to fight and be able to think clearly? I agree about DJY's hand. Wasn't that cut deep enough to curtail him from using it for awhile?

7-stars and tink, It looks like we can relax. The others are finally pitching in. They built a traps at three locations plus a whole fort with a stockade and buildings in what? 2 days? I bet if they had another day they could have had indoor plumbing.
Chulin has to stop doing eye exercise in every scene. back and forth, back and forth.

Regarding the escapees defensive efforts you have to think that those guys could've developed the new world in half the time it took us, had Dae Joyoung been the one to discover it. Just think Columbus, Ohio would be called Dae, Ohio. Wait a minute that sounds a lot like Dayton, Ohio ;D. Also, Mimosa would have been the one to fashion the first map of the new world (instead of Amerigo Vespucci). We'd be known as the United States of Mimosica. How's that one roll off your tongue.

Thanks Aging Warrior, how funny, that explains it. No wonder they accomplished so much in such a short time, the others are helping now. It's about time they chipped in. Love the indoor plumbing idea. ;D
