Hi Sophie! Glad you could join us on these here boards. I think some of the fans are interested in "news" about the REAL actors/actresses' lives and adventures ;D. Enjoy, have fun, and look forward to hearing from you. P.S. I'm glad the child actor who portrayed young Jang-geum is getting a lot of success. Most of those child actors really do an awesome job!

Hello Sophie and welcome. I am very pleased to have you join us. The only drama I can see is Mooin Shidae (Age of Warriors). I am very dedicated to it. I would be very interested in learning any information you might have about the actor who plays Yi Ui-Min, the Archfiend. His name is Lee Deok Hwa (I have also seen it written as Lee Duk Hwa). I like his character and the actor very much.
By the way, your English is very good. I admire anyone who can learn another language. It is not something I am good at, and English is very difficult.

Luvarchfiend, hope you're into bald men! ;D Thanx again Sophie, isn't the picture of him in the han-bok from Yeoin Cheonha? You know I watched that series without subtitles and without knowing any Korean (had to channel half of my ancestors--the Asian side--to understand an iota of what was going on! ;D).

Wow!!! Thanx again Sophie! ;D ;D ;D Those pictures definitely brought back memories of why I loved THAT series so much and challenged myself to watch it without subtitles. We have another wonderful member on these boards called Choko who only recently satisfied my curiosity about the royal titles accorded to the Ladies of the Palace (as the series was called where I watched)--the difference between Chung-jon, Kyong-bin, Hee-bin, Hui-bin, etc. You know, at first I thought it was their proper names, and then realized they were just titles!! ;D What movie was Kang Soo Youn in that won a prize at the 87 Venice Film Festival?

great pics on this site sophie. thanks. hey guys, if you take a look, you will not only the archfiend (not enough) but our illustrious minister moon and the original (though not nearly as funny, nor merit subject) chung kyun. Yeah, he was defintely one of the leading male characters in Yeoin Cheonha/Woman's World/Ladies of the Palace which was about palace/harem politics during the Jeoson dynasty. Strictly set in the civilian world of courtiers and courtesans, as opposed to AOW's militaristic setting, you see a lot of stellar performances none the less. The guy who played AOW's Minister Moon also played a minister, albeit a less saintly one--more devious and cunning (I hated his character in Yeoin Cheonha ). As for the actor who portrayed our beloved ;D Chung Kyun in AOW, he portrayed a young scholar in love with a courtesan, much mellower than the evil snake in AOW. ;D

Neee! ;D Yeoin Cheonha was definitely watching for the catfights royales--even w/out subtitles, I can SEE all the mudslinging and the b-slapping!! ;D ;D ;D The actress who played the Empress is gorgeous--she has that quality of a pan-Asian beauty that transcends East Asian cultures. At the same time I was watching YC, I was watching Wang Gun which, thankfully, was subtitled by my local Korean station--remains the best Korean period series I have seen so far. You really empathize with this great Emperor who really tried his best to balance everything in his time--court vs. military, diplomacy vs. aggression, people vs. ruler, and good vs. evil. Such a tremendous viewing experience!
