I am proud to announce that KBS World programming is back on KBC-TV WOCK in Chicago. The programming will be removed from 24.7 WPVN shortly and the only way to continue watching in Chicago will be on WOCK.

Wow--well this is a big piece of news, to say the least. Thanks, Mr. Bae; sure do appreciate your stopping by and letting us know. We really appreciate it.
I remember it was a real blow to WOCK when KBS walked away from Chicago. You must be very happy to have it back. Hope that this hasn't created any tensions with the WIN Media people; we want to support both of you now that you'll each be airing a major network.

P.S. We will re-title the boards here to reflect this change.

Is there a map of where the signal should be available, or where it's strongest? I don't recall what the map is called, but there had been one available for an earlier incarnation of this channel, I think. I'm hoping I'll be able to watch Korean dramas again! |

It is hard to say what area is stronger than others. It would also depend on your antenna and it's location. They sell newer powered antennas that really improve reception that are small enough to be used indoors.

Mr. Bae, when everything is finalized can you please do us a big favor here? Let us know where on the Internet we can find the program schedule for KBS shows on 13.2. Right now KBS World is airing on both 13.2 and 24.7, but they're not showing the same programs at the same times. I just want to make sure we have the best information here on where to go for an accurate program schedule for 13.2. I'll post the schedule information in a prominent place here so everyone can see it and access it easily. Thanks very much!

Well that's no good...we can't have knov without 13.2. How come you're not getting it? Is it a reception issue, or not on your cable system, or something like that?

Hi, ebadu--Thanks for joining us. The channel 13 group doesn't have a very strong signal, only 300 watts. You probably will have trouble getting it in Aurora. If you Google "WOCK Chicago" you can see more information.
I don't understand what's going on with KBS any more. KBS is still airing on 24.7...and the two stations are airing different program schedules. 24.7 is the one that has been following the North American broadcast schedule posted on the KBS America website...but not tonight they aren't. Anyway, I'm glad you're still getting 24.7 at least.

Thank you for the response ajk... bummer I really enjoy watching KBS on 24-7, but looks like they've switched programming to 24hr news, and it's not even subbed... I'll have to get my korean shows fix somewhere else I guess :-(
