Have to admit, the shattered picture frame was a nice touch.
Okay, I can totally go along with this. They set up that whole story about Yerin's childhood trauma, and it makes perfect sense how everything that's happening now has pushed those same buttons, and how everything she likes in her life has gotten screwed up. And how frantic and angry it made her, and the nasty stuff it pushed her to do (stuff she said she didn't want to do but couldn't help herself). And on top of the Seyeong problems, she just lost that news show she wanted. She always was kind of a snot so it's always been easy to dislike her, and I'm sure most people watching hate her guts. But the character has some depth and I do have some compassion for her, up to a point--certainly enough to not want to see her dead. And at least now we're getting past the silly bickering and eavesdropping and pushing the story along.
Geez, grandma, get off Grace's back. Sometimes people are in a hurry. Don't have a cow.
Yeah, Seyeong, organize those letters from the viewers. All both of them. Hmmm, alphabetically or by date?
"Must I take my son's underwear to him?" Whatever floats your boat, lady.
Let's see...does Gieun getting that nice banner for the bakery save her from the death penalty for being so irritating? I vote no, but we can be democratic about it. (That guy who walked by and checked out her butt on the ladder, guessing he'd vote yes!) Still, she's right about baker dad not running the bakery properly. Is she going to be the one to turn the bakery around? She does seem to have a knack for it. I don't think I could handle that.
Yeonga, if you want to give PSBMom one good sock in the nose, it's okay with me. You spent all that time with her in the hospital and helped her so much and I don't think she ever even said thank you.
Seongsu's pink Miami Vice jacket with the white v-neck t-shirt....I have no fashion sense whatsoever but even I had to hide under the bed until that went away.
Lemme get this straight: Mrs. Kim put the ID bracelet on Yerin right there at the orphanage so she'd never lose Yerin--and then took it off her and left it at the orphanage? Sort of explains how she could lose the FIRST kid, doesn't it.
Hey, at least she called her Seyeong for once.
P.S. Yerin throws like a girl.

P.S. Yerin throws like a girl. Yup.

That is ug-uh-lee...thanks for posting...she was probably a little constrained by the heels, but still. Looks like she's never thrown an object before in her life. More of a shot-put than a throw, really. She could learn to do much better...but considering she may be dead right now, probably not her biggest concern.

You know, you guys, the three of you together could easily haul Yerin back to the riverbank and try again. I'm just saying.
"Slender build." Ya think?
And the running around and screaming with flashlights, really think that'll work? Crackerjack police force that town has.
Geez, now the Kims' apartment has security problems too. Maybe they could hire Minguk and give him a real job. But why do they keep buzzing these annoying people in? Pretty soon the place will be full of door-to-door preachers.
Who gave Seongsu a normal shirt? More importantly, who wrestled him to the ground and forcibly put it on him? Whoever it was, thank you.
How does Jaeseong always get the parking spot by the front door? Everywhere, always! Not fair. The guy doesn't even signal when he changes lanes. He deserves tickets, not primo spaces.
"Why do you think you did this?" There's a good question Jaeseong. Start the therapy. But too little too late...and now you've got you're very own crazy obsessed stalker! "I can't live without you." Congratulations. Yeah, just keep telling her she's like your sister. Worked real well so far.
WOW what a slap! That easily rivals PSBMom's. That thing actually resonated. Score one for Mrs. Kim.
P.S. It's Gieun, not Gieum. Wasn't familiar with the name; shame on me. My apologies. All misspellings corrected.

BORRRRR--ING.
Are we ever going to learn how Yerin went from knee-deep in the river to recovering in that little hospital? That's too weird not to explain properly.
"I don't take sides." Maybe not, Mrs. Kim, but Yerin is right, you were totally going overboard with the whole Seyeong thing. Those nice things you said to her in your room, if you'd said them a long time ago all of this nonsense probably wouldn't have happened.
Jaeseong, you are an idiot. A complete bleeping idiot. And pick up that can and put in the recycle bin! Litterbug.
Seyeong, what are you getting so worked up about? It's Jeonghyo's problem with Yerin. Sheesh. And when Yerin gets bratty at you, why don't you just turn on your phone and record it? Play that for Jaeseong and your whole problem goes away.
But hey, good for you! Jaeseong wants you to back off from Jeonghyo, you have every right to want him to back off Yerin. Hah!
What, Yerin, now you want both guys for yourself? Ugh.
"You've embarrassed me!" Really, Mr. Han? You're running through somebody's bakery, brandishing a breadstick like a dagger--and it's your daughter who embarrassed you? Okay, sure, good luck with that one.
And he padlocks Gieun in her room? Oh good grief. Somebody call the fire marshal. What's next, a chastity belt? This show used to have some genuinely funny stuff in it but now the only "comic relief" they ever turn to is the whole Gieun/Donguk thing--which ran out of gas about thirty seconds after it started. Really a darned shame.
Yeah, those self-destructing set ropes are the worst, aren't they. Shame on that rope, deciding to fray like that just to hurt Mrs. Kim. UGH!!!!
P.S. Nice to get another look at that slap. I think Yerin's two moms should have a slap-off. Take turns slapping Yerin until somebody wins. Of course, if it goes on long enough, then we'll all be winners, won't we.

Thank you, Ilyeong. Stop calling her Yeonju! And you, Minguk, they want to take Seyeong home for a couple of days to a familiar place--don't be a jerk about it; it makes perfect sense. And why does Jaeseong get to sit with her while everybody else has to wait outside?
"Can't you call me Seyeong?" THANK YOU. Thank you! Finally she finds the sliver of spine to ask. How long did that take? Now they'd better all do it or I'm going to go smack-loony on their sorry butts. That means you, Minguk. Got it?
Has it really not occurred to the writers by this point that the mean-scheming-Yerin stuff has been done to death? Now she doesn't even want Seyeong to wake up? It's gotten petty and stupid and repetitive. Can we please move on to something else? If they're out of ideas, then end the series. Apparently the ratings have been good, but still...have some pride in your work already. I'm assuming that at some point Yerin is going to start taking blows, like, this reporter is going to break the real-mom story and her career will teeter. But she's probably just going to end up blaming Seyeong for causing that and we'll see more bitterness and acting out. I'm sick of it and I'm guessing so is everybody else.
Jaeseong, you're in a hurry to get married because you want to eat the food Seyeong cooks for you? Cook your own damned food! Better yet, cook for her! Loser.
So all a girl needs is a pretty face, is that right Misuk? Then why are you and your husband surprised that your daughter fell for a guy with a pretty face? Duh! She opened up and said exactly what the problem was--"I've got nothing to show for myself"--and she needs help. She needs some therapy and some sort of direction in her life. And you two acting like idiots isn't doing one bit of good. If she likes working at the bakery then let her do it. She's happy and learning a trade and Donguk's not attracted to her so you two have nothing to worry about. Bad Parenting 101.
What kind of reporter doesn't show people a picture of the person they're looking for? Come on already. And the writers really missed a good one: they should have had the reporter show grandma the porn magazine. That would have been hilarious.
P.S. News I just dug up: The series has been extended for three more weeks. Why do I have an uneasy feeling about that....

Well, at least now I know now why you call her Monster Girl. But yes, Yerin's behavior was somewhat understandable early on, when she was bitter about Seyeong's arrival ... and fearful that her dark secret might be revealed. But, the way she's acting now defies all explanation (unless she's simply gone off the deep end). The show's current attempts at humor are pretty lame, and are seemingly inappropriate anyway, given that Yerin appears to have become some kind of murderous psychopath. Honestly, I'm having a difficult time figuring out how even a talented writer could pull this series out of the corner it's been backed in to. I'm still watching, but man, I came into this show really hoping for a few laughs now and then.

They were there for a while, mikey--what can I say. I agree with you, this thing may have gotten beyond the point of recovery. Sad to say that. It was this whole Seyeong-lives-with-the-Kims turn. Nothing good has come of it. And now they're even ignoring the other storylines. We see very little of Ilyeong any more; the whole younger-man-older-woman thing that was brewing with Donguk and the middle sister, that's vanished; Misuk wanting a TV job again; Seongsu's screenplay; it's all being left to gather dust. I just don't get it.

PSBMom tries to dodge the reporter by going to the same building where the reporter is? Then she leaves her front door unlocked? And leaves her Yerin scrapbook right there on the floor? Groan. And then leaves her address book out there in the public phone? How many dumb mistakes can she make in one episode? Stop it already!
Have to say, that interlude with Yerin busting the reporter was enjoyable--if only because it was something new. If she's going to be Monster Girl then at least she could do something constructive with it.
Bad Parenting 102: Gieun's dad doesn't like her work habits so he's sending her to Los Angeles. Yeah, there's nothing fun or distracting in southern California is there. And no pretty-faced guys for her to get hung up on. Real good thinking, Einstein.
Okay, I got one good laugh today--Gieun calls Donguk and his phone reads "Fool." That was funny. First laugh in I-don't-know-how-long. What? Now Yerin has authority to push Seyeong around again at work? Didn't we JUST go through this when Seyeong was a trainee? Yes we did. It's official--they're out of ideas.
Baker dad goes to the network. "Yerin says she doesn't know you." Worst, dumbest scene of the entire series. Made NO SENSE. Does Yerin really think that will be forgotten? And this is the same security that lets every random nut through but they rough up Seyeong's dad? Come on. And he tries to push his way through security? That's not even written in character for him. He would never do that. He would wait for Ilyeong to get out of her meeting. Stupid stupid stupid stupid.
At least now the reporter is showing pictures of the person she's looking for.
Jaeseong, you are a bleeping idiot. Get your head out of your butt. And the ending--you can't even lift two bags of flour without throwing your back out--and you sucker-punch Jeonghyo? I hope the beginning of 84 is him kicking your ass. Or Seyeong kicking your ass. Yeah, that would be better.
That shaft Seyeong almost fell down, with the water at the bottom--can we throw the writers in there and get some new ones? Pleeeeeeez?

Have to say, that interlude with Yerin busting the reporter was enjoyable--if only because it was something new. If she's going to be Monster Girl then at least she could do something constructive with it. Watching Yerin butt-kick that arrogant reporter was surely the highlight of yesterday's show. As you said, if she only became a Monster Girl when she dealt with people like that, I'd be cheering her on. I actually found that a bit amusing myself ... though I suspect that it was entirely unintentional humor. It seems obvious that the writer has never spent a day at Malibu Beach. No kidding: why does that arrogant reporter always seem to have free passage throughout the TV studio, but Seyeong's father gets himself knocked to the ground by security when he shows up with some bread? That was the lowlight of yesterday's show.

Two rhetorical questions: How do TV people get punched and not get a bruise? And is it really a good idea to be walking around a construction site in the darkness?
Jaeseong is getting very weird. Not good weird. Possessive and paranoid. And is he really dumb enough not to have realized by now that Yerin is jerking him around? And then finally he says "I feel like an idiot." Correctly diagnosed, sir, congratulations. So you just sit there on that bench and think about what you did! But at least he won't talk on the phone when he's driving, so give him credit for that.
Pretty impressive that grandma's around 80 years old but still has the flexibility to put her foot in her mouth.
So Mrs. Kim asks Seyeong about airing the footage and Seyeong doesn't even think about how it affects her job, only about the larger good that it would or wouldn't do. That was great. Made me realize how few of those moments we've had for the last several weeks--somebody doing something genuinely honorable and decent, and giving you a reason to care about them. And I like the way that the news story gave her clarity about what kind of reporter she wants to be. That was a good piece of writing. Is that a glimmer of hope for this show?
And it was a nice touch that Mrs. Kim went back to the blue-collar lunch place that baker dad likes, even though it doesn't seem like her kind of place at all. Same thing here--nice gesture, shows some common decency, deserves some respect.
"If I go, I'll just embarrass our country!" Cracked me up. The rest of her scene was totally irritating--particularly the worst pratfall in the history of television--but that was very funny. And it's tough to argue with her, isn't it.
Now the female trainee announcer's getting petty and jealous like Yerin? We don't need any more of that in this show. Shouldn't she have been sent on her rotation outside of Seoul by now? She doesn't seem to be doing any work there.
P.S. The best part of this episode (apologies to Pat Weaver) was that it demonstrated the universal truth that network executives are utter bleeping morons. Yippeee!

Seyeong, just snap her like a twig and be done with it. No jury on Earth would convict you.
Donguk...well...just snap her like a twig and be done with it. No jury on Earth would convict you.
Wow, Gieun's dad, where'd you get that tie? Guy couldn't guess your weight?
Minguk, for once and for all would you just shut up about your finding-my-sister crap. You know if your mom comes forward with it, Yerin's whole career is in trouble. Stop being such a whining baby! (Yeonga, just snap him like a twig and be done with it. You're too good for him.)
"I'm sad that people don't know who I am." Huh? Seyeong wanted to stay as she was. And presumably she knows what it means to Yerin if "people know who I am." Isn't that that a big continuity error in the writing?
"You didn't deserve that spot as double MC. You only got that thanks to mom." Okay, Yerin, tell us all about how you got into the ritzy academy and got a cushy job at mom's network and none of it had anything to do with who your mom was. Good grief.
The last name I ever expected to hear in this show is Yi Soon-Shin! What a reference. Nice going, Seongsu.
"A huge fish leapt into my lap in my dreams!" Terrific, Grandpa Sundial--can we smack you in the face with it?
"We need a break." Yeah, Seyeong's right. But this sounds awfully familiar. Is Jaeseong going to nail the hot girl from the copy place?
Now Yerin's actually poisoning Seyeong?!? Are you kidding me? Could this get any stupider? The pills look different, so the first thing that should happen is that they'll ask her what she took. Yerin isn't dumb enough to have tried that, if only because of the high risk of getting caught. Terrible writing. This show has had way too much Yerin lately. It stinks and it's taking time away from so many other potential storylines. I don't understand why they've shifted in that direction.

Lucky Jaeseong--at least he got to be unconscious for part of this one. I'm totally jealous. Worst episode ever.
The same thing, over and over and over again. Yerin has turned into a piece of human garbage. Why did they make the effort to establish a credible backstory for the character if they're just going to disregard it and turn her into a caricature villain?
And why has Seyeong become basically a bullying victim? This isn't enjoyable to watch in the least. It's sad and painful. Where did her spine go? And throwing that tape in the river, that was the most idiotic, ridiculous thing anybody has done in the entire series. This isn't about forgiving someone who's become a sister, this is about being deliberately poisoned. She could have died. And it affects her career too. This stuff about "We're sisters so we need to fight"--why do I think this is writers putting into their work what they should be taking to their therapists.
Good thinking on the GPS, Seongsu. Have to say at least one nice thing about somebody, so you're the lucky winner today.
Gieun's parents had better be careful--with her mental state she seems dangerously susceptible to falling in with a cult. And Donguk, what are you doing? Have you quit the bakery? Are you out of your mind? Do you love her? If not, why are you leading her on like this? Good grief.
Hey Mister Executive--you suck! First you think Seyeong is so great, then you get angry about the suicide-attempt tape, then you love it after the one-day reaction is good, and now you're against her again after something happens that hasn't even been investigated yet. Talk about no spine. Suit-wearing turd. Please tell me you haven't reproduced. Charles Darwin would be devastated.
P.S. Seyeong throws like a girl.
