Giving this one a try, are you? You may not take to it like I did. I wanted to see how the big reveal was gonna go down. I don't plan on sticking with the series. Too many of the characters annoy me. Seyeong wants to be announcer. What does she currently do at work? What's her level of education? An announcer needs to have a good education, be knowledgeable on a variety of topics and conduct themselves in a professional manner. They spend a lot of time working on speech and pronunciation. My favorite announcer is Gong Seo Young from Baseball Wanna B but I think the best in the business is Kim Sol Hee.

She had been a part-time reporter at that network, and then quit to study for the network's announcer exam, and she passed the exam and got picked to be a junior trainee announcer so that's what she's doing now. She did go to college, just not an elite college. And had to pay her way through and go part-time, which is why she's behind Yerin even though they're the same age.
Talk about being annoyed--most TV announcers annoy me. O-ver-ra-ted o-ver-ra-ted....
I have a feeling that a lot of the second half is going to be fending off leaks to keep the big reveal from turning into the big PUBLIC reveal that could ruin careers. So it will probably take too long for you. I'll post about how it unfolds.

If you read the KBS World description for A Tale of Two Sisters you could easily think they're talking about You're the Best, Lee Soon Shin. The only major differences between the dramas is the career choice (announcer vs actress), adoptive parent (single father vs single mother) and the other sister (Yerin is adopted. In the other series, she's also the biological daughter). Well, get a load of this: SBS's current daily drama ("Birth of a Family") is also the story about two sisters. One (the nice one) is adopted, and the other one (the evil one) is not. Nobody knows that they're sisters. And they both work at a TV studio ... Just imagine if you were trying to watch all three of these daily dramas at the same time! I don't know how anyone could possibly keep the characters straight!

--And Seyeong gets an early jump on the next smack update. "Did I mean anything to you?" And then stiffing Jeongyho like that, and then stiffing Juhui. This is weird for everybody, sister--you better lose the attitude.
--It's official: the pod people have replaced Jaeseong's dad. So he's really okay with women working, and just afraid of his dad? Actually that does make sense, how he explained it. So all he needs to do is grow a pair like I've said all along.
--Talk about pod people: Is this really the same Yerin? She's being very calm and non-neurotic about all this. Suggesting mom go on a weekend trip with Seyeong? Wow. And telling off Jeonghyo, amazingly she's right and he's wrong. He seems to want some sort of joyous reunion, but that's not up to him.
--Gieun may be turning into the new Monster Girl. Quite the little schemer.
--Wow, we actually saw the loss scene. And Minguk still has the yo-yo. Careful, Minguk; don't turn into a stalker, okay?
--Oh boy I may get my chance to smack a network executive! Yerin anchoring the weekend news? What is this, Nickelodeon? Sheesh.

Somebody must have put something into the local water supply and made them all crazy. Seyeong's still being difficult; now Jaeseong is being thoughtless, pushing her towards the bio-mom just so he could get her more acceptable to Grandpa Sundial; Minguk, yeah sounds like he's going to become a stalker; and what the heck was with that stupid temper tantrum from Iyeong? I guess it's the middle-child thing...which I could accept if she weren't in her MID-THIRTIES--geez lady let it go already! And even Misuk, telling bio-mom to have a press conference; that's not right. Okay, bio-mom didn't handle it properly back then--but it was 23 years ago. And people are STILL beating her up for it?
I don't see what the problem is here. Seyeong wants to stay with her family; everybody knows that everybody grew up okay and is doing well; and not making it public solves Yerin's problem completely (maybe that's why she's been calmer recently). And bio-mom's too. There isn't any need for this to become a public spectacle. Bio-mom is right, partly for the wrong reasons but she's right.
Now I just hope baker dad doesn't lose his marbles after hearing The Big Secret. He's about the last sane one left! Maybe he didn't drink the water.
And maybe I should have put "Donguk snaps and kills Gieun" on my wish list. She's asking for it. Boy oh boy if I were smacking every episode this one could be a record-setter.
P.S. I just read somewhere that "Sincerity is the Way of Heaven" is a famous old saying in Korea, or at least somewhere in Asia. So it must have some significance beyond the literal meaning that led the show creators to call it that. "A Tale of Two Sisters" makes much more sense to an overseas audience.

--Well you did it to yourself, Seyeong. Too much at once, just like I said, and now you're in the hospital. Now I'm just worried the heart condition is going to come up, which I specifically asked NOT come up. But it was nice of you to have dinner with Minguk. Very sweet scene.
--The little kid figuring out the song--very sharp; maybe she's ready for another run at the Mrs. Guk MVP Award.
--How did Minguk get that woman to marry him? She's talking good sense once again. Listen to her, pal, or you'll end up a stalker yet.
--But NOT good sense, Donguk, yet again covering for the woman who annoys you. Make up your mind!
--So Yerin couldn't help herself and tried to screw Seyeong again? Looks like knov was right. But it was so lame--like nobody else would find out Seyeong's in the hospital? That was a weak plot point. (Plus the hospital would have called more than just the one work number. Sloppy writing here.) Yerin was supposed to be headed towards the weekend news; why does she even care any more? This needs to be explained. Does she still feel threatened? Loved that Jeonghyo busted her for it, though.
--Hooray for Jaeseong and Ilyeong--the two who said they'll respect Seyeong's decision and leave it at that. Why can't the rest of them see reason? Oh and I really liked the end when you could just about see the gears turning in Jaeseong's head. Scenes like that are great.
P.S. Four faces we've seen before in historicals:
--Mrs. Kim, she was the Khitan empress dowager in Iron Empress --Jaeseong's dad, he was King Bojang in DJY, and also was in Emperor of the Sea --Grandpa Sundial was one of the ministers in Iron Empress --Minguk, supposedly he was in IYSS, although I couldn't find the specific role to confirm that
Also, baker dad is in the Queen's Classroom series running on MBC right now. Not a historical but that's the Mishil show.

So Yerin couldn't help herself and tried to screw Seyeong again? Looks like knov was right. It's too early for Yerin to start playing nice.

"Her EKG results came out fine." YES! I knew this show wouldn't let me down. That would have been a total cliché.
Boy those gears were totally churning. And he got it, how about that. And now Ilyeong's gears are starting up about Yerin.
No, Mrs. Kim, you can't force Seyeong to be your daughter! And now you'll tell the hospital you're her mother if they want to know? And you wonder why Yerin is a Monster Girl? Oh, that's right, you're not paying attention. Wake up!
Yeah, somebody order up a nice new straitjacket for Minguk. Won't be long now....
Where was that park with all the pinwheels? That was very cool.
P.S. We haven't seen much of Grandpa Sundial lately at all. Only three very short scenes in his room in the last two or three weeks. I wondered if the actor got sick and they had to write around that, but I didn't find anything on the Internet about him being sick. (Nothing in English, anyway.) Weird. Wonder what the deal is.

Oh dear, now we're getting silly. Not a good episode. Drifting dangerously towards the conventional material again. Seyeong is a grown woman and perfectly capable of making sensible decisions, and she's doing it. Doesn't want to give up her old life--which works out best for everybody anyway--and figures she might as well do her out-of-town rotation now and get it over with--which makes perfect sense--and everybody else is acting like idiots about it.
No, Mrs. Kim, you can't force her to like you or live with you! You had that great breakthrough where you realized how selfish you had been in the past, but you're being just as selfish now. Yerin, if this is making you so uncomfortable, tell your mom already! Sheesh. Misuk, stop pressuring Mrs. Kim to turn this into a public spectacle! No need for it.
And everybody saying Seyeong shouldn't leave...what's the alternative? She shouldn't get special treatment from any other trainee, should she?
And what the heck is Yerin doing sneaking around there in the evening? Does she have to eavesdrop in every scene? Stop it already.
Ugh.

Bio Mom is a witch. Pushing Seyeong and her adoptive fam on the issue isn't going to win them over. Seyeong has repeatedly asked them to call her Seyeong. Yet they keep going "Yeonju". One of the things I liked about 49 Days was that Yi Kyung kept her name.
Fire the writer! Bring in Moon Eun Ah. She'll fix everything.

Hey, looks like mom will need the straitjacket before Minguk does! Gone a little wokka-wokka hasn't she. You almost feel sorry for Yerin.
And how long is Seyeong going to be out in Gangneung anyway? Wish they'd tell us. But it's not like she's going to Mars. It's a three-hour drive. And it's part of her job, so everybody stop whining already.
Dang she looked good in that white dress.
Tough luck Misuk--you don't want your kitchen rearranged, don't fake the foot injury.
This thing with Jeonghyo suddenly getting a job in Gangneung and going with Seyeong, that needed a better setup. Awfully flimsy. And it seems like he's just working through his own issues with not being there for Yerin at the orphanage. That would explain it.
A doctor who makes house calls?
P.S. Jaeseong's saying goodbye to her and I'm thinking, Kiss her you idiot, and he shakes her hand. Do they just not do that over there? I know it's a more restrained culture than in the West but I figured he'd at least kiss her then.

I know it's a more restrained culture than in the West but I figured he'd at least kiss her then. Is that what you would have done? I think most guys would have. K-Drama couples are all about holding hands and kisses on the forehead. I notice you complimented Se Young on how she looked in the dress (she did look nice). So, is Park Se Young your type then? You can stalk her.. I mean... follow her on twitter. twitter.com/2012_sy

Seyeong's hiding under the covers. She must have seen today's script! YAWN.
Don't tell me we're going to have another genetic medical storyline with an unwilling bio-daughter. May be headed that way...They'd better make it good if they do.
I'd love to know how Minguk got Yeonga to marry him. That woman is some sort of saint.
Seongsu looked more into Donguk than Gieun did! Maybe there's more than one reason he didn't want the marriage license filed....
Oh goody, Grandpa Sundial's back...and look how quickly the trouble starts up again.
P.S. Darned right I'd have kissed her. (Plus she looked like she was expecting it.) And today too. And long before yesterday. Actually they almost kissed once, it was around episode 35 or so, but something interrupted them. But I see your point about K-drama couples now that I think about it.

Well, now we know where Seyeong's heart defect came from. Okay, I can go along with this. Not beyond imagination.
Telling the ambulance driver to hurry?
Porn-Star Bio-Mom has been awfully supportive lately. Weird.
"Let it go." Solid advice from Iyeong! At least she's gotten some sense from motherhood.
Now you do sort of have to feel sorry for Yerin. Amazing to say that. But oh boy did that look like a fun road trip for Seyeong! Three hours in a van with an overtired neurotic. Par--tayyy.
P.S. You don't suppose they're going to guilt Seyeong into living with bio-mom...Good heavens what will that do to grandma? Not at all sure I'd want to see it go in that direction.

FINALLY he kissed her. Now kiss her like you mean it, not like you're a robot! Do I have to explain everything? Sheesh!
Yes, Minguk, you've been a huge pain in the butt. Glad you realized it. Now why are you still doing it? Idiot.
Looks like we're gonna get the quantity discount on straitjackets! Now we need one XS size for Yerin, please. Yow-wee that was an A+ freakout right there--behind the wheel and everything. Very impressive.
Well said, Yeonga! Way to deliver the message to Mrs. Kim with just the right tone. That woman is something special.
And Jeonghyo telling Jaeseong basically to grow a pair, had to like that. And it worked! But then fessing up to Seyeong that he knew and didn't tell her--why? Dude, why? That was idiotic and you deserved that slap! Not because you didn't tell her, because you fessed up! Idiot. Keep your mouth shut next time.
They're keeping Mrs. Kim's heart surgery a secret? Didn't she JUST start a brand new news show? Don't they think viewers will wonder what happened to her after one episode airs and the show vanishes? Ugh.
This show has lost its sense of fun again. Adult children being treated like property, that drives me nuts about these shows. Seyeong doesn't want to live with Mrs. Kim; that should be the end of it. They work together; that should be enough for everybody. Now even baker dad and Ilyeong and Jaeseong and Jeonghyo are losing their minds about it. And grandma and Iyeong are talking perfect sense. It's like the Twilight Zone.
