That's awsome I'm here at the same boards with you. Anyhoo, i'm 12.5% albanian, 62.5% italian, and 25% french. I'm 15, live in new york, and don't understand any korean at all, although I do watch un subtitled korean and japanese shows. Yeah...I want to thank you for the subtitles for Age of Warriors. Alas, my mom won't watch it because she "doesn't like reading television". It's a shame she's missing out. I got into korean television (and other asian tv) because the history and culture rocks. Thanks for the subtitles again. Keep up the good work! Oh...also, AoW really helped me with my comics i'm making. I'm mixing a bit of korean history in now.

You are the best thing that has happened to Korean drama. Thank you XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
link=board=warriors&thread=1072338612&start=3#0 date=1072387537]Sorry for the grammatical errors!
I do the subtitle translations for AOW for KTE in LA. I also did the Dawn of the Empire and Wang Guhn as well as a string of contemporary Korean dramas in the past 7 years or so. It's all done manually with video tape and script; we don't use the voice transcription system. I don't remember ever writing "Sieze the resistance" though. I'm working on episode 77 right now, on Christmas day, for which the deadline was yesterday--Yikes! ;D
Well, it looks like it's a whole new age of warriors with the heroes and villains of the 1170 revolt all dead and gone!(excluding the Archfiend who has turned into a madman)
I'm so glad I discovered this message board! I've wondered in the past if anyone really watches the program other than myself!

i don't speak korean either but as for the english part sometimes the sentences in the subtitles make sense and sometimes they don't because they're missing a verb or 2-3 words. it makes it hard to understand what is going on in a scene especially when the story is moving quickly. i just ask my fiancee what they just said because he speaks korean. ;D

For Christy Kim/Sushigirl: Don't forget to check out groups.yahoo.com/group/WangGuhn/which, in spite of its name, covers DOE & AOW as well. I & my wife started watching last year on WYBE in Philadelphia; we're mid-50's and know no asian languages but both of us were big fans of Japanese cinema (subtitled of course). I really think that someone could have a small cult hit with a DVD set of Wang Guhn with your subtitles. (I believe that but also I didn't watch Wang Ghun till episode 170 on its second showing in Philadelphia and would love to have the DVDs to watch.) We think the subtitles are excellent and thank you so much for your work. Bill Jameson

Christy, thank you sooo much for your hard work. Your translations make watching AoW enjoyable. I am another non-Korean speaking viewer. I was checking channels one day and came across this show and now I don't miss an episode.

I just wanted to say how much My wife and I enjoy The Age of Warriors. I do not speak Korean, although I spent some time in Seoul training in Taekwondo a few years ago. This has become one of our favorite shows!

Your subtitles do justice to the plot and make it very understandable and enjoyable. I was attracted to the program by the superb quality of the acting (the lady who plays the Dowager has such presence and dignity she makes Judi Dench look drab, even old Chung aroused sympathy at his deserved end, & Kyung and Duedel are marvellous) and the subtlety of many of the characters (usually on the evil side but most are quite complex). This cast puts Hollywood to shame. I hope the series comes out in DVD/video and that your subtitles will be available. My wife and I are NYers in our 40's. We're Anglo Irish and have a Chinese baby.

thank you, Christy Kim, for all of your hard work. I look forward to the weekends when I can catch up on *two* installments of AOW on Channel 17 here in New York. there's another series with the same Emperor and Muby. but it doesn't have your touch so I imagine the plot (am probably *way* wrong). any plans for you to tackle it, and what is it??? so glad to "meet" you online. thanks again!

Hello; I am from near Philadelphia. I started watching AOW on channel 35 a PBS station. It took me several times before I started to enjoy it. Is AOW one continuous series or a group of different series, and how many episodes? Hey Christy, thanks for the great translations. You did a great job. My favorite character was Yi Ko. I didn't like seeing him turn against Ui-Bang. Sorry if I missed spelled it. It comes on every Thursday and Friday nights here.
