Ji Jin Hee(King Sookjong in Dong Yi) got casted to play Yi Sung Gye in SBS Great Wind-Water(October 2012. 36 Episodes. Director : Yi Yong Seok of SBS Iljimae).
I know that women love this actor, but I've never really liked this guy so I'm not sure if I'm gonna be watching this one.
I didn't watch Dong Yi because of this guy. To be honest, I never watch any of Lee Byung Hoon's dramas since all of them have same stories.

Ji Jin Hee as Yi Songgye? Really strange choice. Here's another one to think about. Have an of you heard of Choe Bu? He is most well known for the account of his shipwrecked travels in China from February to July 1488, during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). He was eventually banished from the Joseon court in 1498 and executed in 1504 during two political purges. It makes for a great adventure story. For more, here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choe_BuBTW, any word on that Yi Soon Shin drama?

Shin Ui is not a person. It means New Medicine or New Medical Science. There aren't many details about this drama yet. The only things confirmed are the actors that I mentioned above and the era. Kim Jong Hak, the director, is keeping everything secret. There are 2 rumors about the main story of this drama right now. 1. A fictional character working his/her way to become the no.1 doctor in Koryo. Typical rags to riches story. 2. Female doctor from 21st century going to King Gongmin era through time slip and falling in love with General Choi Young. It's been confirmed. New Medicine(a.k.a Shin Ui) will officially be about a female doctor from 21st century going to Koryo dynasty and falling in love with General Choi Young. The 21st century doctor and Choi Young will also work together to make 20 year old young King Gongmin into a good ruler. Lee Min Ho, the star of Boys Over Flowers, will be playing Choi Young. Choi Young is well known for his unswerving loyalty for Koryo. Before his execution by Yi Sung Gye(the founder of Joseon)'s coup forces, he declared that grass will grow on his tomb if he was bad, but grass won't grow on his tomb if he was righteous. Grass didn't grow on Choi Young's tomb just as he said and only started growing almost 600 years after his death in 1979. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choe_YeongThis drama will only be covering young Choi Young, or might even replace historical facts about his young days with entirely fiction story, so his famous death scene won't come out in this drama, but it will definitely be shown in Great Wind-Water where the main focus of story is the foundation of Joseon dynasty. New Medicine will also be directed by Kim Jong Hak of the MBC Legend, which means 100% fantasy costumes. I just saw Lee Min Ho wearing the armor from the drama and it looks like it just came out of a video game, which is somewhat understandable since this drama is a fantasy romantic comedy drama to begin with. After all, it is about a 21st century woman coming to 1300s through time slip.

Has there been any word on the YSS drama? No. It's set to start around October or November, so casting is probably going to be done over the summer.

I don't know how the title got translated into Faith. The Chinese characters of Shin Ui means New Medicine.

Faith is just the export title they probably wanted something more commercial than New Medicine . It sounds more like an Idol show like Sunkyunkwan or Sun/Moon .

I'm pretty sure that's not the export title. The translators of whatever article you read thought that Shin Ui means faith without knowing the Chinese characters. Shin Ui can mean both faith and New Medicine, but in this case it's New Medicine since the Chinese characters say so. I'm not sure how much history you can put into this drama though. It's not like the female lead is going to stay in Koryo forever, so they can only cover about a year. I'm guessing it'll just have historical settings and characters with all fictional stories.

Shin Ui, Faith, New Medicine, or whatever you want to call it, is going to be terrible. I already decided to not watch it. Not only it is a time-slip fantasy drama, it will have the mythical Chinese god Jade Emperor in it. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jade_Emperor)

Jade Emperor --> Jedi Knight Here's the last paragraph in Etymology of the words Jedi and Jade: "Jade Writing", or "Yellow Court Classic" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_Court_Classic) is the ancient alchemy text that explains cultivation of the continual flow of the "transcending change" within the practitioner's body, that is used to "dispense thousand troubles and heal hundred diseases, become immune even to fierceness of a tiger and cruelty of wolves and capable to refuse the aging forever" and seems very similar to the concept of Jedi "Force". www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=241068389245712Might be a good story, depending on their treatment/attitude.

No it wont they lost me with the tag line "Help Gongmin heal the people " which of course he did nothing of the sort he was a useless Monarch .
Ever since the Japanese Drama Jin became a massive hit and probably the biggest Asian Drama since Hana Yori/Boys over Flowers it seems we are being inundated with all these time travel dramas including a Jin remake and Jin itself was lifted from the BBC Drama (not the crap American remake )Life On Mars .

He was only useless after the death of his beloved wife. He went cuckoo and spent almost 10 years of life doing nothing but mourning for his wife. He was actually a pretty good king before his wife died. He got rid of warrior dicatorship, declared independence from the Mongols, replaced Mongolian costumes with Koryo costumes again, and raised an army to fight off the Japanese, Jurchens, Mongols, and the Red Turbans.

Here's a picture of Lee Byung Hun's first sageuk, the movie King of Chosun. Main Cast : Lee Byung Hun - King Gwanghae and his doppleganger beggar Hasun Ryu Seung Ryong(Qing general Jushinta in War of the Arrows) - Huh Gyun Han Hyoju(Dong Yi) - King Gwanghae's queen I'm pretty sure a lot of people already know this, but Lee Byung Hun's also going to be in upcoming American films G.I Joe 2(obviously since he was in the 1st one) and Red 2.

Looking forward to seeing this film more so to see how the subject of Gwanghae is dealt with in so much as he is usually put in the same bracket as Yonsan for having his older and younger half brothers killed ,Than there is the problem with his mistress Kim Gae Hee who was also his fathers concubine which was a no no and he himself was a concubines son . His real crime though may have been his lack of support for Ming .
