Yes, I remember Bu Kiwon well. He went mad, so he didn't even know what hit him =(. Oh gees puppy, lol!! I'd like CF to be alert though so he can know why he's getting pummelled; hopefully he doesn't follow suit.

Actually, Bu Kiwon was pretending to be mad, and did not actually go insane. Anyway, so far, I can't tell if that actor is a good guy or bad guy in this drama.

Sorry,
Help me out on who clown face is.
BTW I think that actor who played Bu Kiwon is very talented. I've seen him in four different series playing entirely different kinds of characters.

There was a contemporary comedy-drama a while back (I can’t even recall the name of it right now) where our “Bu Kiwon” played a goofy, blonde-haired character.
Yes, he’s a very underrated actor!

EP 20? 21? 22? sorry....the last one shown in the NY/NJ area....
it saddened me greated to see Seol die.....she was one of the very characters that i like in this show. i am having great difficulty warming up to any of them. sadly, that includes my beloved 'archfiend'....don't get me wrong, i still like the actor, but he is being underused and misused. now that is very sad indeed.
one of the characters i do like is the instructor....his name escapes me...the one who is in love with Su. and how i disliked him (his character) in YSS....he is a good actor and hopefully will show up in other historical dramas.
i recently missed 2 episodes and it didn't distress me at all. this show just isn't in the same league as it predecessors.
but, alas, i will watch again this evening....and tomorrow as well.

I can't believe how heartless the King is towards his sisters. He has become so paranoid and gullible. How could he automatically believe that snake Kim Wonsoong? The King is such a hypocrite. He was so disgusted with his sister's pregnancy that he couldn't even look at her. I guess he forgot the fact that he was having an affair with Lady Yunheung (the present Queen) while he was still married. I feel so sorry for Prince Gyeongjuwon and Seol (Queen Hunjeong). Their relationship was doomed from the start. The Prince might as well be dead if he is sentenced to exile 300 miles away. What an emotional scene.

I agree that the old Sol Rengui fire is missing, Luvarch. Maybe he'll break out in later eps. I also don't like seeing the fearless Dae Jungsang as a bow-headed minister.

That’s one of the issues a lot of us have about IE. Historians consider this particular king to have been among Korea’s better monarchs. He was responsible for a number of positive reforms, and was well-loved by the public. And yet, he’s presented to us here as a paranoid dumbbell. Of course, we saw something similar in DJY, where Yeon Gae-so-mun was portrayed (probably just as inaccurately) as a drooling lunatic. Go figure . . . I’m also in agreement that the writers have been squandering Lee Duk-hwa’s great screen presence. He lights things up when he appears . . . but, unfortunately, it’s just not happening often enough.

Most kings were paranoid that their throne would be taken away from them, and they had every right to be paranoid, because there was a lot of truth in it -- I mean, food testers really existed....

The episode ending with Prince Gyeongjuwan was soo sad. This better have happened in real history. I can’t believe the King’s discussion about Seol's death, with the Queen. “If I had not rise to the throne none of this would have happened.” What a bunch of bananas. If he hadn’t been so hung up on the shaman-turned-minister, none of this would have happened. If he had not taken the current Queen as his consort, thereby letting Kim Wonsoong into the palace, none of this would have happened. Then the writers make up for the King's woosie character, by having the Queen insert: “You are a benevolent king that will be remembered forever.” Then to top it all off, she wants to take another child from his sisters?!?!

That being the truth, the writers reversed the roles of King Sungjong and Queen Hunae. I don't understand why they did that. With all the inaccuracies it should have been labeled a fantasy/period drama. Sometimes I feel sorry for the writers because it must be difficult to write the role-reversed characters into the historical events. Hence we rarely hear about anything good that King Sungjong did. On the other hand, I'm disappointed in how the current Hunae is portrayed. She's all reaction and no forethought. With Seol's baby, the first thing that popped into my head was how vulnerable the baby is; he could be either killed or abducted for political reasons. To avoid that Hunae could have either faked his death or hidden him. If she could have gotten the baby to Prince Gyeongjuwon somehow, then the King couldn’t have taken him.
