How many days has the Doc been in a coma? Why does a family member have to be with him at all times -- even throughout the nite? Are there no nurses in the hospital? Are there no other doctors? Are Korean hospitals really run as small family businesses? Just curious.... I've wondered about that myself, door. In the drama "Spring Days" the hospital is huge, but it appears to be under the complete control of the father of the two protagonists--characters refer to it as "his" hospital. It seems to me there was a similar situation on "Love Letter" although my memory is hazy on that one. The only show where a hospital seemed like an American-style enterprise was the university hospital in "White Tower"...but that was based on a Japanese story, so maybe that explains the difference... Oh, wait, that's not fair, I can think of other series where large, Western-style hospitals were featured. However, there do seem to be a fair amount of hospitals and small clinics completely under the control of a single doctor and his family. Maybe that's true here, too, we just don't notice it because why would it come to our attention? Bo out.

Yes, mara, now that Grandpa also knows the truth about why he thought Seonyeong didn't show up all these years, I hope he'll be kind to her should they bump into one another. Gangster aunt needs to punished in more ways than one, she seems to be the root of all the family's sadness and sorrow and she's getting away with it. I'm gonna even go so far and blame her for breaking up Suin and Seontgae's marriage lol =P But seriously, look at what's taking place with her and simpleton, gees.

Why does a family member have to be with him at all times -- even throughout the nite? It's the done thing in many (affluent)Asian families to keep an elder company 24 hours a day when dealing with coma patients. It can be really awkward because it would mean long spells off work for some........but it has been known to be acceptable by employers at businesses with strong family values.Hence, official leave from work may be taken without too much fuss. It may seem a somewhat strange practice but I think it's kinda nice that the elders get that kind of respect.

GANGSTER AUNT - what a perfect name for this nasty woman. I'm watching in Chicago so i"m not as far into the story as you are but from what I've already seen, this female needs some in-depth mental health counseling. Who the heck does she think she is? Empress of the World??? Oh boy, I want to just smack her snotty face until her head spins around like the character in the Exorcist .. aigui . .

Someone should remind "Ganster Aunt" how she was conned into marrying that sniffling husband and she loosing all her money. She is just obne bitter woman, love Minju mum and the way she sticks it to GA only she stops her in her track. Ques. why should a grown woman show respect to that horrible woman? She is the one to respect her elders not the other way around. I love how she was called a thief which is true..

I missed Tues and Wed episodes but it looks like everybody but Suin knows she's a dreaded relative, the kiss of death to love.
I can't understand why her mom won't tell her the truth and why her dad, who sees how much she's suffering, is leaving it up to his wife. They both agree it won't change anything but it'll at least give poor Suin some insight.
And in the epis I missed, was it explained why Hyeonsu, who was ready to battle divorce and pregnancy, folded under a tenuous, non-blood relationship?

Hyeonsu didn't know the whole truth , He only was told by his Grandpa that Suin's mother was his Aunt . In Ep 59 is when he finds out Suin's mother is not her real mom .
Ep 59 - Hyeonsu's Grandpa , Mom , and Jisu are at the kitchen table for dinner . Jisu goes to Hyeonsu and tells him dinner is ready . They discuss the big mess thats going on with the company . Hyeonsu mom ask him is that how he got hurt . He lies and says yes , when the real reason he got hurt was he had gotten into a fight with Suin's ex husband .
Grandpa ask Jisu is Suin older than you ? She says yes Hyeonsu and Suin went to college together . Hyeonsu's Mom says that means Suin is not Seonyeong's real child . Hyeonsu 's mom ask him did you know about this ? Hyeonsu says no I didn't think that far. Jisu says no wonder they don't look a like , They are real close though like a real mother and daughter . Hyeonsu's mom gets real nervous.

The energy level in this show is sooooo low, and the pace so slow, that last nite I was flipping chanels between (I dread to admit it) The REal NJ Housewives and The Road Home.

off topic a bit, I just love Dina on TRHoNJ! lol
Back on TRH, I missed about 20 minutes of the show but it wasn't hard catching up as I now find I know what the character is going to say before the translation comes up; and I don't speak Korean. How can Suin say that the matter doesn't concern Hyeonsu when Hyeonsu could lose his job over this? He did say he's going to quit after the documentary is done, but come on Suin, it ain't all about you.
Hiro keeps dropping subtle, under the rug hints. Come on, dude, this isn't blue's clues. He did look good with the hairstyle he had when he was in the green shirt. I think he needs a haircut or to comb his hair like that from now on.
I think a poll should be made about Miryeong and Seonyeong with the question: Who's the bigger doormat? I like that one about the pill. Or we could even broaden and ask who's the biggest doormat of all time in K-Drama history and throw Dongji and Sabby in there too.

Did I see right or did Hyeonsu only punch Seontgae once? Suin didn't seem to have gone to the police either, right? ...

How does the creep know Suin's kid is his? So she conceived in November; so what? Unless he kept her chained 24/7, she could have had an affair. Or maybe the no-longer-mentioned Chinese guy raped her when Seongtae wasn't looking.
It is a bit ridiculous, dorrie. The families are all acting so unbelievably annoying and strange, even for a Korean drama. Maybe that's why the Doc stays in his coma.

What kind of hospitals do they have in Korea?? IN YAMD, Hosae's crazy Mom walked in and out the the hospital with a bandage on her head. Here the nurse gives out confidential info. Even if she said she was Suin's Mom, in the US, she would never have gotten the info if "her daughter"is over 18. Also, at 22 weeks why doesnt Suin show??? And, they have her dressed in tight belted coats. Crazy man!!!

I'm losing hair again, I tell you, lol. Ridiculous and crazy indeed!! And as we all know by now, it's only going to get more ridiculous and crazier from now on. Buckle up guys.
Dodgerman, that's the same thing I was wondering too about how the woman could just say she's Suin's mom and get info. How can you not ask for ID?!?!?!?!?!!? I should move there.

I love the really intelligent Korean Dramas like Mom's Dead Upset, Ruler of Your Own World, etc., but some of these dramas are just so ridiculous (present drama included), and you know it couldn't possibly be cultural because the intelligent dramas say it all...
