The show is getting really good. I hope but not meaning in an evil way that she mis-carries that baby because on the show today it wasn't so clear whether she did or not; they only showed the blood on the floor but I am hoping for the best. Also in the preview for next week Ja- young appears to be glowing and her hair color brighter. She reminded me of Hanna's fun loving character from the show that went off Who's MY Love. I hope she gets married because I hate seeing her so sad and serious.

Yeah it sure seems to me like there will be a marriage at some point but will it be part of the end or will it be soon? I don't understand why nobody has suggested adoption. Too boring an idea for a show like this I guess.

I know what you mean, Mark, about hoping she will miscarry so she can be happy. When her office friend scolds her for making the "wrong" choice, sometimes I agree with her, other times I agree w/Ja-young. Sometimes it is not so much shocking as it is surprising that in the Korean culture, single, divorced and remarried mothers are still such a taboo in their society and pretty much from what I get, undesirable for close ties. In the preview for today's episode, I was surprised to see Ya-young all glammed up, I loved the style Hana had in Who's My Love. but then it shows her going back to her old style

Well, of COURSE she will! She's the STAR!
Seriously, though, another thing to consider is the adoption rules in Korea, too. Remember in Who's My Love when Hyun-sik married Go-eun, and wants to adopt Joon, and they talked about changing the laws which protect the "precious blood-lines"? This is why so many Korean orphans and out-of -wedlock children are adopted in the USA, because they're so discriminated against in their homeland.
Remember, though, that Joon-bum accepted Han-bi along with Hoon-sook in 'So This is Love', so I say Ja-young will get happily married, but, of course, with lots of plot twists along the way.
What I want to know is, will Sang-min be cast into the firey pit he deserves?

OK, Soju, so adoption is taboo in Korea. But since when is abortion not only legal but socially acceptable even seemingly to the elderly generation? This seems strange in a culture that has held onto so many of its traditional moral values.

Well, I don't know about Korea, but abortion has been legal and somewhat common in Japan for a number of years. I remember seeing, when I visited there, temples that had shrines of small, featureless, dolls, in memory of the spirits of the aborted, placed by their mothers.
I applaud this show for presenting the issue in a mature fashion, without all the yelling and screaming you'd see on American TV.

Yes Soju, I know what you mean about American tv. I think you and I being here reflects not only on the lure of Korean entertainment but also on the sparsity of quality Stateside programming. If only Hollywood would get a clue. This isn't a complaint, but it seems these daruma writers use the same ideas over and over but with different characters. The last Teaser made me wonder if the car crash will lead to amnesia for Min-Joo, along with a new personality, like the doctor who lost his love to his best friend. To return to the original question about Ja- Young, yes she will get married but to whom? Remember in Dear Encounter the heroine Ye-Won ended up with the jerk Suk-Jin who kidnapped her, and whose baby she just happened to be carrying. The hero Yun-Tek ended up leaving for the States. And you know the two newlyweds will split when the truth all comes out about Ja-Young. Also remember in the flashbacks Sang-Min, cavorting with her, was a really nice guy. Food for thought?

sadly she probably will and what i mean by that is that i think that if she gets married it will probably be with sang min, and not with the other guy (i forgot his name), which i find i little frustrating since he is soo nice with her, that i really wish they stayed together; but since it seems like she's not going to abort the baby and sang min is the father, and also he has a lot of problems with min jo because of his father, i think she might end up with sang min

If my musings turn out to be on target (and I hope they don't), don't kick me off the forum. I'll turn in my crystal ball.

I'm always trying to predict what will happen on the dramas. Seems I'm just about always wrong, too ;D

Yes, Yobo! I remember the series Dear Encounter. I *loved* Dear Encounter, but the ending (where Ye-won dumps the nice guy who was devoted to her and instead marries the creep who raped her) really left a bad taste in my mouth. Yellow Handkerchief seems to be running along a similar path.
Sure hope YH doesn’t pull the same stunt on us -- I want to see Sang-min SUFFER for the rotten things he’s done!

Married the man who raped her?? Well, that really *is* disgusting. Come to think of that, it's no worse than they did on the US' own General Hospital, so I'm told! I agree I sure don't want to see Ja-young end up w/ Sang-min. Even if she does lose Young-joon (or the other way around), I'd rather see her raise her child alone and have no one than take back that sniveling traitor. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hold out hope they don't go that route. Right now, she seems too resolved in her contempt for Sang-min to ever consider such a thing...even if he came back crawling. I hope they don't let us down and have her regress like that. I agree we have to see Sang-min get all that's coming to him. Jade Eyes

I think that in the end Ja-young will get married.....but with who? The only way I see JY ending up with YJ is if he severs ties with Grandma Sohn. JY could marry SM since they share the baby, but that would be bad. I don't think SM deserves to marry JY....not after what he did to her, that jerk. I hope JY gets married with YJ!
