Yes, Geom is still alive ... he and his Khitan force blocked the Tang army led by Lee Hae Go. He was supposed to retreat after slowing the Tang down a bit but Khitan force were slaughter by the Tang army. Some of Lee Hae Go's Khitan generals were apologizing to the Khitan soldiers as they were hacking them down. Geom tries to escape with his assistant but they are caught by Lee Mun and his men. Geom battles Lee Mun while his assistant fight off two Tang generals. Both Geom and his assistant are losing. It is then when Lee Hae Go appears ... while Geom and Lee Mun's swords are locked. Lee Hae Go is shocked and Geom looks at him. Lee Mun takes this opportunity to slice Geom across the chest and Geom goes down. Lee Mun pierces Geom in the stomach for good measure. Lee Hae Go's Khitan generals are shocked and rushes to Geom' aid. Assistant somehow makes an escape through the ravines. Lee Hae Go has Geom treated and feels rather bad. Lee Hae Go tends to Geom's bedside when still unconscious Geom calls out "father" in his delirium. Lee Hae Go is touched thinking that Geom is calling for him until Geom says, "I wish I could have called you father at least once." Lee Hae Go realizes that Geom is actually calling out to DJY. This upsets him but he let's Geom return saying that he must look after Chorin. Geom goes back to DJY's camp and is treated after the extent of his injury is discovered. Geom is still alive but he still has a rather serious wound.

EP 125 was really sad ...
After General Jo In Sa drags the dead bodies of his two commanders back to the Tang encampment, he asks Lee Hae Go to give him one more chance and give him an army to bring Heuk Soo Dol's head. Lee Hae Go refuses and decides to lead the army himself to confront Heuk Soo Dol.
Heuk Soo Dol tends to his wound at his tent while his subordinate commander enters. Heuk Soo Dol orders that no one who is afraid of the enemy and afraid to fight should remain for they would do more harm than good. His subordinate replies that no one has left the camp and no one is afraid of the enemy.
At DJY's camp, DJY heads a meeting of the generals, Suk Young and Mimosa. DJY is determined to rescue Heuk Soo Dol but both Suk Young and Mimosa vehemently opposes. DJY screams that he would leave by himself if no one follows his order.
Next day, Uh Hong meets with DJY and pleads with him to not go. She tells hims that she knows him and that his thoughts are clear to her; that DJY should take his army and continue to Cheol Mool Young and establish the new Goguyreo. DJY and Suk Young are both moved.
Chulin summons Mimosa and asks him to give her an army and block Lee Hae Go. Mimosa opposes and tells her that it is not time. Chulin aks if he still does not trust the Khitan. Mimosa replies that unlike DJY, he has a lot of suspicions. Mimosa leaves and blames herself for how Lee Hae Go has changed.
Gulsabiwu pleads with DJY and convinces him that he should go with him. Goem also asks to go but DJY refuses. DJY and Gulsabiwu departs alone to find Heuk Soo Dol while rest of the army and civilians leave for Cheol Mool Young.
Heuk Soo Dol confronts the Tang army. He dares anyone from the Tang army to confront him in one to one combat. He asks for Lee Hae Go. Jo In Sa volunteers but Lee Hae Go refuses because he says Jo In Sa is too emotional. Lee Mun declares he will step forward to confront Heuk Soo Dol. They wound each other and end up in barehanded fight. Heuk Soo Dol gets the best of Lee Mun and pounds and strangles Lee Mun while on top of him. Jo In Sa is incensed and ride his horse and stabs Heuk Soo Dol in the back with his sword. Heuk Soo Dol gets up and screams and general combat ensues.
DJY and Gulsabiwu arrives too late. They approach the situation on foot. Heuk Soo Dol is captured and tied up. The Khitan general Seok Ga, who has his hair all cut bald and used to fight Heuk Soo Dol comes to him with liquor. He confesses that while they have fought against each other he does not dislike him ... it is only because he served a different master. They share the drink and Heuk Soo Dol pleads with Seok Ga to have his head face his brothers after his is dead so he can watch them arrive at Cheol Mool Young.
Lee Hae Go tells Lee Mun to chase after DJY with 10000 calvary. He tells him that he will follow as soon as he can. He wants Lee Mun to prevent DJY and his people to reach Cheol Mool Young. Heuk Soo Dol is executed by Jo In Sa but not before saying that their dream of new Goguyreo will be achieved. Before he dies, he reflects on all the things he had gone through with DJY and Gulsabiwu. Lee Hae Go hangs Heuk Soo Dol's body on a stake and DJY and Gulsabiwu arrive to see it. They rescue Soo Dol's dead body and drags it away. They decide to bury him during the pursuit by the Tang army. They also reflect on the past memories of their blood brother.
Shin Hong reports Lee Hae Go that Seol In Gui is approaching with much provisions and material. Shin Hong guesses that Seol In Gui is foreseeing an extended campaign.
Mimosa led Goguryeo/Khitan arrive within site of Cheol Mool Young. They meet with Dae Joong Sang and his men at their camp near Cheol Mool Young. At the meeting they are concern for DJY and Gulsabiwu. Goem and Dan volunteers to go find them and are accepted. However, DJY and Gulsabiwu arrive and warn them that they have been pursued by 10000 Tang calvary led by Lee Mun and are at the bottom of the hill. They tell them that they have to leave immediately for Cheol Mool Young. Episode ends
For the memory of Heuk Soo Dol, I give you his famous shouts:
Ganansaeki!! (간난새끼!)
Nalaedaoh! (날애다오!)
I will miss his awesome character.

EP 126
Lee Mun 10000 cavalry arrive at the bottom of the hill from Cheol Mool Young. DJY and Mimosa decides to send a blocking force to delay Lee Mun until they can turn Cheol Mool Young into another Gui Boo San ... the time when DJY was imprisoned by Tang and he survived by setting up traps and arming the prisoners from various nations with sharpened bamboo sticks during the human hunt by Lee Mun. They ask the craftsmen of different nationality to stay with DJY's army at Cheol Mool Young to create traps and ambushes. Gulsabiwu and Geumlan volunteer to command the 5000 strong blocking force. Geumlan has a farewell drink with Mimosa but is later upset thinking that Mimosa did not understand her feelings. However, as Gulsabiwu and Geumlan gets ready to leave, Mimosa tells Gulsabiwu that Geumlan no longer belongs to him but to Gulsabiwu.
As soon as Lee Mun gets report of DJY's people starting to move out to Cheol Mool Young, he sends his army in. They are ambushed by Gulsabiwu as planned by Mimosa. DJY's people hear distant sounds of horse hooves and battle but Mimosa tells DJY to continue moving and pay no attention to the battle below them.
DJY and his people finally arrive at Cheol Mool Young and meets up with Dae Joong Sang. DJY tells Dae Joong Sang about the initial victory by Gulsabiwu at the ambush. They start the work on building traps and ambushes in Cheol Mool Young.
Ministers reports to Chook Cheon about DJY reaching Cheol Mool Young. She is quite upset about how DJY reached Cheol Mool Young inspite of the huge Tang army in pursuit. Chook Cheon ask for more troops to aid Lee Hae Go but is told that there isn't any troops to send there.
At Lee Mun's camp, Tang casualties are considerable. Lee Mun is pissed off that he cannot get passed Gulsabiwu and Geumlan. He wants at least Gulsabiwu's head before Lee Hae Go arrives.
At Gulsabiwu's camp, Geumlan is tending her wound on her shoulder. Gulsabiwu comes over to offer medicine and tells her that sword scars last a lifetime so if he were to die first, to remember him by it. Geumlan is concerned that over half their troops are dead. Gulsabiwu tells her that they cannot retreat until DJY orders them to retreat.
At DJY's camp, they are happy that most of the traps have been completed. However, they receive words that Lee Hae Go's main force have arrived. DJY is shocked that Lee Hae Go's force is over 200,000. He sends messengers to tells Gulsabiwu and Geumlan to retreat.
Back at Lee Mun's camp, Lee Hae Go arrives and demands to know why there is so many wounded Tang soldiers at the camp. They receive words that Gulsabiwu had retreated. Lee Hae Go decides to sent scouts to find out what is going on at DJY's camp.
Gulsabiwu and Geumlan arrive back at DJY's camp. They decide that there is only three places where the Tang army can pass through. One passage is given to Gulsabiwu and Geumlan; another to Toong So and Ma Pa. DJY gives Khitan the other passage. Mimosa protest immediately but Chulin tells him that there is no reason why she cannot fight Lee Hae Go. The craftmen are told to leave with Master Jang. DJY and Dae Joong Sang have a private conversation. DJS is worried but DJY tells him that the winter is near and they can defeat Tang with cold and hunger.
Seol In Gui's supply party is stopping for that night and find out that Hong Pae has the plague and Seol In Gui is told that Hong Pae should be killed and buried to prevent the spread of the disease. Hong Pae rides in a basic oxen driven cart but does not understand that he is being isolated.
Back at DJY's camp, Dan reports that the Tang army is ready to start their attack. Mimosa urges DJY to send the signal.
At Lee Hae Go's camp, Lee Hae Go divides out the army into several divisions and readies for battle.
DJY sends to signal fire arrow and gets ready for the huge battle.
Ep 127 preview show a lot of battles ... it looks like Gulsabiwu is in trouble and Chulin and Goem confronts Lee Hae Go and Chulin is wounded. Many Tang troops fall to the prepared traps. Lee Hae Go vowed to Seol In Gui that he can finish off Cheol Mool Young in three days...

Do you think they are going to kill off anymore main important good characters? I don't want DJY to die. *Sobs* It's sad to hear that Gaepil, and Sudol died. They were some of my favorites. They brought humor to the show. Also I was wondering how you pronounce khitan in english? Someone said It is Khi as in kite and tan as in tan that you would get from staying out in the sun, lol. I say It's khi as in kee and tan as in tan from the sun. Which is It? In korean they sound like they say khoran.

I don't think DJY will die ... how would he become the king of Balhae? I sure hope they don't spell that as Bohai since that is the Chinese version and the kingdom was Korean. I'm afraid many more of our favorite characters are going to die in near future episodes. Looks like Chulin and Gulsabiwu are done for soon ... I also think Dae Joong Sang will also meet his maker while heroically fighting. I not even sure if Goem will survive the show. We'll see.

Wow, that's sad. I hope for the most half that Li Wen, Shin HOng, and Li Kaigu die as well. They shouldn't make It out if the good guys have to fall. In memory of Heuk Sudol:
Blasted Bastards!
I would do a remembrance phrase for gaepilsamun but I don't know the whole thing so I will just try to say this one. In memory of Gaepilsamun:
I am the wolf of Mount Madu!

OK - this is more or less a copy of a post from a couple of weeks ago. A lot of these historical questions have been asked and answered already, but here goes again anyway. When you want to know how the historical aspects of one of these historical dramas play out the simplest thing to do is check Korean history. There are several good web sites - I use this one a lot: koreanhistoryproject.org Look in the section "Korea in the eye of the tiger" - then in chapter 3 (Paekche and Silla) under "unified Silla". To answer your main question, Dae Jo-young does not die; he becomes the ruler of a large, multi-ethnic kingdom covering North Korea and much of Manchuria called Parhae (or Palhae or Balhae - spelling varies). The location of this kingdom, which lasted about 200 years, from 698 to the early 900s, is one of the reasons China claims this is Chinese history. It was eventually conquered by the Khitans after they stopped being nomads. I don't know what happens to the non-historical characters (Chulin, Geom, etc.), but of the historical ones, Gulsabiwu was a co-founder of Parhae and Li Kaigu was apparently still alive in the early 700s (his history has been invented out of whole cloth for the series, however). Dae Jo-young's father was apparently killed in the military encounters that defeated the Tang forces in 697-8 (some of this history is pretty cloudy), after which Empress Wu recognized the new kingdom and appointed Dae the Duke of Chin. A few years later, he was invested by her successor as king of Parhae. He died in 719 and was succeeded by one of his sons (not the fictional Geom!). Of course, the series takes many liberties with history. The real Xue Ren-gui died around 683, but was too good a character to let go, so he's still directing the Tang armies fifteen years after his actual departure from the scene. The Khitan people were Mongolian nomads who had far less to do with the founding of Parhae than Gulsabiwu's Malgal people, who are pretty much absent from the series. Gulsabiwu was more than a bit older than Jo-young. Etc. etc. The real history is of interest to fans of the series only insofar as it gives you an outline of what's going to happen.

Man, all the main characters are dying off. The writers better let Dae Joyoung kill Li Kagu or Shin Hong or i am going to be mighty upset! And... i hope somebody rubs it in DYJ's face that he rescued Li Kagu 3 times.. so he has nobody to blame but himself.

Man, it was soooo sad seeing her die....And earlier in that episode, she seemed to have had words with Mimosa....Their parting didn't seem not very friendly.....I think he told her that she was no longer obligated to serve him and that she now belonged to Biwu. I don't think I could ever do that to a loyal servant...Especially not someone that pretty! But in the end...there were lots of flashbacks of Geumlan....Oh man, I really loved this lovable bunch of heroes....Gaepil, Heuk Sudol, now Geumlan....and on top of that, General Dae Jung Sang has been captured by the scumbags! We will be eulogizing him soon enough....
