Man, it was soooo sad seeing her die....And earlier in that episode, she seemed to have had words with Mimosa....Their parting didn't seem not very friendly.....I think he told her that she was no longer obligated to serve him and that she now belonged to Biwu. I don't think I could ever do that to a loyal servant...Especially not someone that pretty! But in the end...there were lots of flashbacks of Geumlan....Oh man, I really loved this lovable bunch of heroes....Gaepil, Heuk Sudol, now Geumlan....and on top of that, General Dae Jung Sang has been captured by the scumbags! We will be eulogizing him soon enough.... I have only recently started watching the show and I feel depressed that the good guys are dying one by one. I can only imagine that I would be weeping buckets if I had followed the entire series. I checked out the KBS website and it says that Geom's head will be cut off. Li Kaigu has to die a horrible death.

Yes, Geumlan died while protecting Gulsabiwu's life. Even though she said that it would be easier to get away by having her on his back she knew that it was the only thing she could do to save his life. Just before he realized that she was dead, Gulsabiwu was telling her how he was going to ask DJY to marry her when they got to DJY's camp. It was really really sad. I really loved her character. I hope that stupid Khitan traitor get his due ... how can he give away all the location of the traps so the Tang army could easily get through?? Just because stupid Shin Hong told him that Geom is DJY's son and DJY is using him??? Die you traitor. Die Shin Hong. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that that dufus will survive and live a sedentary life in the Tang Empire. That's the way these kinds of drama works. There was no preview for the next episode. I guess now Tang will attack DJY's new camp. Will Gulsabiwu reach DJY's camp in time? How will Mimosa feel when he find out? He did tell her that she was in love with Gulsabiwu and doesn't realize her feeling for him. At least she died serving the man she loves.

If i am right?(maybe not) the real Li Kaigu was beheaded in 968 in Louzhong as punishment for losing his army in a resounding defeat by DJY .So i am guessing in the current ep's we have moved beyond that date and the snarling one is very much alive and kicking .I hope he gets killed by DJY it pissed me off in "Jumong "when Taezo pretty much got off scot free for all his atrocitys and historicaly he did outlive Chumong ,but it still would have been nice to see his demise ,so i fear after all his many victims it would be horrible if Kaigu and DJY kiss and make up and jointly fight Tang /Turks ect all ....Damn it i want to see some good old retribution . ;D

That was because he was one of Empress Wu Zetian's favorite general.

Umm - you guys need to check your history a little more carefully. Xue Ren gui died in 683 at the age of 69, a year after he had won a big victory for the Tang government. He obviously had nothing whatsoever to do with the founding of Dae Jo-young's kingdom in 698.
Li Kaigu was still around and serving as a Tang official (Duke of Yan) in 705, after Wu Zetian was deposed by one of her ambitious relatives. Apparently his death date is unknown.

On the subject of Xui im pretty sure he was not executed .In CP Fitzgerald's bio of Wu it states that our favourite villian with braids and feather duster was thouroughly trounced by the Turks and again by the Tibetan's but because of his loyal service he was able to avoid such tasty Tang Treats as being chopped in half or quartered and stripped of all rank and made a commoner .Jo Young if i am right (and maybe not ) had a younger brother named Dae Ya Bal who was his right hand man and founded the junior Balhae line,I bought this up as im guessing KBS probably merged the real Biwu with Ya Bal thus explaining why Biwu is a young man in the show and not Junsangs compatriot .

Did it again ,well here's another comback i should have stated Xue was stripped of rank and demoted due to his loyalty rather than executed .When Wu died though the Empress Wei and her daughter An Lo went housecleaning and wiped out most of the Wu loyalist's save her secretary Shan Kun Wan Err and those three along with their adherants went down to Wu's daughter Tai Ping and grand nephew Ming Hung who in turn offed Tai Ping ,The real Kaigu must have really had the gift of the gab to surrive those purges unless he had retired and taken himself out of the picture entirely .

We will be eulogizing him soon enough.... i just saw this episode. I have a different take on this. Mimosa knows that Geumlan loves Biwu. He's telling her that she is not just a soldier but has become a woman. Because they are at war, he tells her it is okay to be in love but she still has to be careful (not to moon over Biwu!). If he didn't cut her lose, she would never leave so he had to be cruel to be kind. I also felt that since Biwu and Geumlan would not ride off into the sunset together, it was good that Mimosa gave them a few minutes of "belonging". At least she died knowing she belonged to Biwu. Maybe I read too many Nora Robert's books but I felt that Mimosa was also sad as he has feelings for Geumlan. He looks at her so sadly. After she left, he said to himself that if she leaves him she has to make sure she lives. Something like that. I cried like a baby especially knowing that her time with Biwu would be over soon. It would be really hard to see the beautiful Amazon die. Although DJY is the star of the show, I really felt like smacking him good and proper. Did you catch him mooning over Chulin in this episode? And sure, you have to show the Khittans you trust them but does that mean you don't listen to good advice from your tactician? Li Kaigu is a mad man and DJY is too emotional to think rationally. Spells diaster.

I have two questions: 1. Does anyone know if Dae Jo Young finds out that Geom is his son? (I realize that Geom is a fictional character.) 2. This one is directed to those who know Korean history: Which of Dae Jo Young's sons was his successor?

Dae Muye who legend states he was so skilled with a sword he sliced a fly in 4 piece's .Anyway what mystifies me is DJY has 3 sons in the drama none named Mu ,Im guessing Dan will have a name change as (spoiler )Geom is headed for tradgedy ....But maybe not in this drama where the historicaly dead are still alive and kicking who know's .

Yes, I wondered about that too. The real DJY had 3 sons and the eldest who succeded him had assistance from DJY's brothers. In the show, he has 2 blood brothers and one is already dead. So its like the writers are making up their own story!
