It's very sad that Day will revert back to what he was but it's no surprise to anyone familiar with the book that this drama is based on. I love the twists that have been added to Hello, God but the basic theme is unchanged from the book to the drama. To me that theme is that man shouldn't tamper with things that are God's job and that there are many different kinds of happiness and each is important. Humans don't have to be geniuses to be happy. The really sad part is knowing and missing what you once had.

I lent the movie "Charly" based on the book.... Yes, "Hello, God!" kept the great lines for the drama... But the producer changed many things.... And it's better to watching this version because Haru is more innocent than Charly, even this guy react like a disabled guy, this drama is more emotional, touching.. During the movie, I don't understand why Alice Kinian felt in love with Charly, and the drama gave us more details about all the nice things he do for her...

I too bought the book Flowers for Algernon with the intent of reading it after this series, but I don't think I'll bother now. I would forever want Hello God's telling of this story to be it for me. The writers for this show have done such an excellent job with the story and the actors brought such depth to the characters. Never before I have I become so emotionally invested in a tv show, movie or book.
The underlying themes of fate, playing God and the real meaning of love and family were so moving. Watching Haru's slow and painful regression reminds me of my own mentally retarded brothers painful end and reminds me that it was God's plan for him to be the way he was.

Stacey, sorry to hear of your loss...
One of the many messages of this show seems to be that humans can't play God, and we should be happy with the path that he has chosen for us. Dr. Park realized that fancy dinners and expensive jewelry couldn't compare to something as simple as holding Eunhye's hand {sigh}

SoKo, you're right.... Happiness is not only with money and success.... It's one part but not enough.... This drama is so human.....

So true....in the movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" Chow Yun Phat says to Michelle Yeoh, "The things we touch have no permanence..." Materialistic things can be gone tomorrow and are replaceable, you cannot replace a loved one, or put a price tag on happiness.

Soko, thanks for your condolences. It's always wonderful when some we see, hear, do or experience changes our lives and our way of thinking. This series has certainly outdone itself on all levels. I look forward to owning it when it officially comes out on DVD. KBS currently does not have a licensing agreement with yesasia.com, so they may not carry it. www.koreandramaclub.comwww.sensasian.com www.hancinema.netThese are a few site to keep tabs on when it does come out. KBSglobal.com does not say when the DVD will be available, but there is a great page for learning korean.

VOD stands for Video On Demand ... means bascally you watch video via internet without downloading it. aka video stream.
