It is Ghengis Khan, imported from China. So that means you won't see it in the US, since the licensing deal probably only covers Korea.
KBS is under a serious financial crisis(like NHK) and is cutting back on all expensive projects.
Hopely, they don't cut budget on Yi Soon Shin's Myungrang battle, the most critical battle of Yi Soon Shin's career.
But since the producers blew all the money on Won Gyun's final battle, some kind of cut is inevitable...

That is a shame...I would enjoy Ghengis Khan in a drama, people regard him as evil, but meh, I see him as a great tactician and warrior.

Ah, Ghengis Khan, the great Chinese hero. But are you sure it's a Chinese production? I searched for it, and I think it's a Mongolian production. In any case, if the costuming and set are good enough, I might be interested to get it any way possible and watch it.

Years ago I enjoyed the novel Until the Sun Falls, by Cecelia Holland, about Ghengis Khan's life. Lots of color and detail.

Ah, Ghengis Khan, the great Chinese hero. Must you always be negative when anything chinese is mentioned? I hope they can show this in the US. But if not they can always just show Age of warriors again.

Well, I was just talking about Genghis Khan, Yuen, China, history, distortion and stuff in the other topic. Just thought it was a funny coincidence to have him mentioned again.

Inner Mongolia is a part of China and not Mongolia, just like New Mexico is not a part of Mexico.
His concerns are justified, because Chinese officially claim Ghengis Khan was a great Chinaman, and that Mongol empire was a peak of Chinese civilization...
I wouldn't be shocked if this series distort Ghengis as a Chinese hero..

Actaully, this drama had been forbidden in Mainland China, because it seemed to arouse Mongolians' nationalism. I'm really looking forward to watching this new Mongolian drama. ;D

The Chinese claim allot of things, including that Koguryo was Chinese.
I would also like to see a drama based on the Great Khan.
Is KBC in danger of going out of business?

I'm really looking forward to watching this new Mongolian drama. ;D If this drama is banned by the Chinese Communist Party, then it obviously couldn't have been made by the State-run film studios. Could it have been made in Taiwan? Or does Mongolia have its own studio system? If made in Mongolia it speaks volumes about Mongolian artistic autonomy, much like Polish films in the 1950s and the Czech "New Wave" of the 1960s.

Could we stop the chinese bashing and just focus on the topic at hand?
There was this other amazing epic korean history show that was broadcast on tvb. I dont know the title, but one of the kings was at war with other factions. Wonder if KBS wil show it?

Ghengis Khan isn't banned in China, it was aired on CCTV last year.
However, the fact stands that Chinese consider Ghengis Khan and Nurhachi as great Chinese heroes. Had Emperor Hirohito completed the conquest of China, then he too would be considered a Chinese hero 100 years from now.
