Bae, I do not know, as Korean.wiz does not have a list of the actors in this show. (It is too long.) For those who can read Korean, she provided this link: www.kbs.co.kr/drama/leesoonshin/about/cast/cast.htmlThe actor of the father of DJG is listed as "Park Chan-huan" in Korean.wiz. I cannot find anything about him, but I will look at my DJG DVDs and see if it's the same guy. Bo

The handsome actor who plays Constable Kwon is, indeed, Jang-geum's dad. If anyone saw the korean show Hu-joon (a lowly man during YSS's era that becomes the king's royal physician), Constable Kwon's actor plays the king. The funny thing is, since Hu-joon and YSS are from the same time era (they're about the same age, too), the king is none other than Sun-jo. In this drama, the actor who plays Constable Kwon plays King Sun-jo; a much more favorable version of him than the King Sun-jo in Yi Soon Shin. As usual, the actor who plays Constable Kwon does a wonderful job of portraying King Sun-jo as a bit weak but nonetheless loving monarch who truly cares about his people. Too bad the Sun-jo in YSS is such a jerk (I don't think he's very good-looking).
In case anyone was wondering, Hu-joon was about three or four years back. I don't think it played on Chicago's korean channel, but I could be wrong. As far as I know, yesasia.com doesn't have DVD's of it. I'll be leaving for Korea on July 3rd (for the first time in 10 years- I haven't been there since I was eight) and if I can find it, I'm going to buy Hu-joon, YSS, and Dae Jang-Geum all on DVD (muhahahahahahah).

Hey, I looked at DJG Ep 1, and it's him! Constable Kwon is DJG's dad!
I never would have remembered that, Bae! What a memory you have.

.... Too bad the Sun-jo in YSS is such a jerk (I don't think he's very good-looking).... Muhwahahah yourself, Princess! LOL. I hope you enjoy your trip. Be sure any DVDs you buy will play on your DVD player--most in the USA are Region 1 players; you should check yours. As for the Sun-jo in YSS--I think he's a cutie pie. I guess your opinion is influenced by his shady-dady character....and that drooling he does (JOKE)... Bo

Actor Park Chan-hwan played King Sun-jo in "Heo Joon", Jang-geum's father in "The Great Jang-geum", and Constable Kwon Jun in "The Immortal Yi Sun-shin". King Sun-jo in "Heo Joon" (1999~2000) : He is the same king as the Immortal YSS's king Sun-jo. Jang-geum's father in "The Great Jang-geum" (2003~2004) Constable Kwon Jun in "The Immortal Yi Sun-shin" (2004~2005)
