hi ukfan, yes, i think there will def. be a market for DJG comics. so you like my "be refreshed" tag too? ;D by the way, which ad are you thinking? air freshner? air con? perfume? ;D Well, what just came to my mind was... 1. An man just got home, pouring with sweat in his open neck shirt. 2. The wife and kids look at him and... 3. An animated breeze of fresh mint flavour come oozing out of the kitchen.. 4. And when all are looking at he camera, a voice comes on and say, "Be Refreshed" 5. And finally a graphic of a freshly brewed cup of mint tea comes into scene... Sorry, a moment of madness here ;D Minty, are you in advertising by any chance? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DJG Comic Book: Do you know what, I like to try an experiment. I will design say a DJG comic book (20 pages long, each page is a short story like what maedayeve and I have been doing, published it as a pdf file and distribute it online to Singaporeans and I would just love to see the reaction ;D I could link the experiment to an online survey as well...hey, this would be fun ;D It wouldn't be a commercial project of course (copyrights issues!) but purely for fun and I would like to see how MBC would react to it...assuming they pick up the story. Hey, what about a DJG Comic book blog? ;D ukfan

Comic book! I love that idea too. I do not have any of your talent for creating amazing comic strips, but you have all my support - and my help, if you ever require any. =D valeoftears

Hi Maedayeve and Valeoftears..you are both "hired"! ;D Maedayeve..on blog and comic strips design and development...if that is ok with you mae? Valeoftears, on publicity! In fact I need as many Singaporeans to publicise the DJG comic book as possible. Vale, could you start the publicity machine going and get some feedback? If the response is not favaourable then I have to consider plan "B"..is this ok? I will prepare an outline of this project as soon as possible. NB: There will be other jobs or roles which once they have been identified I will consult with all concerned and we will allocate the roles...if it is ok with you all? Also, I am sure you may be wondering what is going to happen to the comic strip competition? I think we can combine the two and let the public vote? What about other countries? I think initially we shouldn't commit ourselves to too heavy a work load. Let us test this concept in the Singaporean Market and then perhaps the Phillipines etc...your thoughts? Also, I know graceann is looking forward to the competition, so perhaps if she doesn't mind helping out in the initial phase and then when we repeat this excercise in the phillippines then she will be able to play a bigger role--grace, is that ok. Hmm! come to think of it, there really isn't reason why we can't do Singapore and Philippines at the same time is there??? Your views and comments please. ukfan

whoa, this is a serious undertaking now huh? what exactly about the comic blog design and development? Don't panic, what we need is to keep the whole thing as simple as possible. As far as the blog is concerned, all we need is to provide enough information to support and promote the the comic book. 1. I will get the blog started and outline the project, and prepare and online survey. 2. Decide which 20 short stories we like to work on. 3. Grab the graphics and put the comic strips together and compile and vert comic book into a pdf file. 4. Ship out the pdf file. 5. In terms of priorieties we need to build up a database of those who are interested in receiving the comic pdf. In fact, we can create a Yahoo eMail group instead of a blog. This is better because we can start building up a contact database...so, as far as a blog is concerned we need to change this to a Yahoo Group! More later and your thoughts? ukfan

Thanks for the employment, ukfan! I am all for it. I have two questions though. 1) Will our comic strip be a reflection of the actual storyline - or will it be a 'parody' - like the funny ones posted so far? 2) Should we give ourselves a name? As in, if I ever need to refer to the team in charge of this comic strip, should I call us 'the-team-in-charge-of-making-the-comic-strip', or 'people-from-the-Chicago-Korean-Drama-Fan-Club'? Or will a name not be necessary? Thank you! valeoftears

Hi all There are a lot or issues I have to address, but for now, my response to Valeoftears's questions are as follows: 1. Yes, a name for our group would be cool! How about " DJG Comic Relief" - The antidote for anyone who still suffers from DJG withdrawal symptoms! 2. The style of the comic strips? Well, I think it goes without saying that it has to be one of parody (Valeoftears, I have to look up what that word means! ;D) yea, the funny kind! More later ukfan

maybe we could also link with yunyun's yahoo group? just thinking aloud... Hi Maedayeve Sorry, I am still very much in the thinking/planning mode. Yes, good point, I have left YunYun a message exactly about this and as soon as she gives me an answer I will post my preliminary proposal on this thread. In the meantime, if you have any other thoughts please post them here. More later ukfan ps. spfan...you are "hired" too! ;D NB: Anyone can participate in this project but I will have to allocate the work later...although, some of you have already been appointed to key positions! - so it is first come first served! ;D

ukfan: Great job and good luck !! Your one talented dude. ;D Reminds me of the old racy photo novel magazines of my youth... man I'm old ! . My only concern would be that if you get too big someone somewhere will try to shut you down. FYI I noticed the private messages... thanks for the info but I could not open the stuff you sent since I have no idea what password I used for that account !! Use my "normal" e-mail to communicate with me: gspatta@worldnet.att.net By the by, it will probablty be easier to just burn me a copy and send them across the pond... Later, Gman

Hi Minty "Do you think there is a market for DJG Comic strips?....just joking!" ----- hi ukfan, "yes, i think there will def. be a market for DJG comics." ----- wow, it all started from a casual chat (question and reply as above), and it sparks so much interest in the comics! so ukfan, this just shows that lots of people are interested, maybe no need to do survey already? ;D by the way, what is the survey for? what does it entail?
