Fyi.... according to my recall, before jang-guem became a medical lady, sir.Min called her "Seo Na In". "Seo" is her family name. "Na In" is a title for the young palace ladies before they become "Sang Gung" like lady Han or lady Choi. when jang-guem worked as a medical lady, sir.Min called her "Seo Ui Nye (Nim)". "Seo" is you know what. "Ui Nye" means "medical lady". "Nim" is used to call someone with respect. (when jang-guem called lady Han "Han Sang Gung MaMa Nim" ) it's so cold in seoul where i am. take care..

thanks for the clarification kinoeugene (and keep warm in beautiful wintery seoul re: han sang gung mama nim, i understood sang gung to mean imperial attendant, and mama nim is the respectful form of address. there was also a term for imperial cook which now escapes me

He's only in his early thirties. He got married in Nov, 2004. His wife is a graphic designer, and he met her when he's still a photographer and has been dating for 5/6 years. I think she looks very elegant & lovely, and very compatible with him.

I just finished jewel in the palace and has become a fan of ji jin hee!
Just wondering if anyone out there thinks the ending wasn't very good for sir min? how can sir min be happy?
da chang jin can continue practice her passion of being a doctor. sir min on the other hand, has to give up his passion of writing, literature etc..., to do manual work.
i mean, his wife can treat patients, can cook well etc and the daughter looks up to her. sir min, on the other hand does nothing except sewing leather shoes? that's not what he likes to do at all.
so i am quite disappointed in this sense.

on the contrary, i think sir min made the decision to live in obscurity in the small village with jang geum (chang jin). his knowledge and love of writing and literature is put to use when he teaches the children of the village. furthermore, life in the village is much preferable after so many close calls with death while living as an official in the cut-throat environment of the neo-confucian jeoson royal court. lastly, the romantic in me would like to think that he sacrificed worldly glory in order to be with his precious jang geum

well, guess i have to think like you to not let the ending disappoint me so much. i think this is such a great show and i am sorry to say that after the show i have become the 'rare ones' of being more of a ji jin hee fan than a lee young ae fan! that's not to say i don't like lee, just that i like ji more! he's my new idol! ;D

he's more low key relative to the other k-drama stars for sure. i think that's part of his real-life charm

He is 2 years younger than LYA, i guess should be around 32. I like to think he is a down to earth person, coz he is a photographer before and he began acting similar to LYA not at a young age. so there are not really hype up bout being really famous but bout being a good actor. so it happens that LYA is a famous model before and the popularity of DJG makes her even more popular. 1 more thing, he says because of the beard, most fan didn't recognize him ^^

Yeah I would agree too .. that JJH is quite low key actor. He is quite cute .. I remember the first drama I see him act in was the the 4 sisters. But at that time he is just a supporting act .. althought he didn't play the big role but I found him quite attractive at that time .. haha !
LYA - she is great as always !!! Don't what others think .. but I find the 30's to 40 actors & actress quite acttractive.
