Okay, finished episode 1. It was short, only about 45 minutes. I really liked it. The lead guy is not who I thought it was but still fine. He's not super cute but still cute enough to carry me through. The lead girl is from "The Greatest Love." She played a mean girl in that drama so I have to get used to her as a lead girl here. She's cute, I guess. I took an instant dislike to the 2nd lead guy, which is unfortunate. I generally enjoy my K drama much better if I like the 2nd lead guy a little too.
i liked the fight scenes. They seemed natural and believable, and I liked the way the lead guy moves.
i was really surprised about the middle finger scenes, not once but twice. Do they know what the middle finger means? Isn't K drama family viewing? Could the middle finger means something else in Korea???
The cell phone in the sewer scene was hilarious. The way she kept bowing on the ground because she was so happy she got the part!!! What induced her to hold her cell phone out the car window??? I would never!!!
the lead girl's agent looks a lot like the lead girl in "That Winter, the Wind Blows," don't you think??? She could be the less-pretty sister.

This is a good series. I think you'll like it. Ji Hyun Woo & Yoo In Na (leads in the series) are a real life couple. QIHM is a cable series so use of the middle finger wasn't an issue.

Really??? That is sooo romantic! Were they a couple before this series, during or after, do you know? They make a really sweet couple! finished episode 2. Really liking it. I sort of like it short - this one was also about 45 minutes. I tried to watch it without the subtitles because Viki has the option to turn it off. Well, I was lost within like 2 minutes, because it was in the olden days in the beginning of episode 2. Had to turn the subtitles back on. One translation made me laugh: "Is there any new news?" Hee Jin was very cute when she said he wasn't dead or dreaming, that he just looked like he lost his mind. Oooh, that Han Dong Min really makes me sick. I woulda slapped him and kicked him when he kissed her. I hate men like that! He made me sick! How dare he?? Using his power to take advantage of her like that! He's no gentleman, I can tell you!! how did that assassin follow our guy into the modern world? You know, in the woods... i loved the way this episode ended, the way our guy caught her just before she touched the ground. Very romantic... *sigh*

The official story is that they began dating after the drama. Some suspect that they started dating during the drama. Ji Hyun Woo publicly declared his undying love for Yoo In Na after the series ended. She thought it over for a few days. In Na later revealed telling Hyun Woo that he should stop being Queen In Hyun's Man and become Yoo In Na's man. That's how the relationship started.
Wanna hear something funny? Viewers thought Ji Hyun Woo & Yoo In Na had great chemistry in the series and should start dating for real. After they went public with their relationship, Korean women voted them the #1 couple they most wanted to break up. Go figure.

Very very interesting... Oooh, i love hearing stories like that! Well, I hope they're still together. Are they? Neither of them are HUGE stars right?
Finished 3rd episode and have started the 4th. (How's it going with you, Birdy? If I'm too ahead let me know.) I'm really enjoying this drama. It's just FUN! Kim Boong Do's reaction to the Seoul traffic and modern life is a little stoic. The four guys' reactions in "Rooftop Prince" were much more believable and funnier. But that's okay, I just go with it. Loved the scene where the cellphone rings and he doesn't know quite what to make of it. That was cute.
There they go again, ripping the IV needle out of their hand. Almost every K drama I've seen someone goes and rips the IV out of their hand and absolutely no blood. Don't they know in reality if IV needle gets ripped out of the vein like that, there would be blood everywhere?? I mean gushing like a fountain?? I hope people don't do that in real life.
Wow, that Yoon Na Jeong woman is nasty, bouquet-whipping our girl like that. Her family name is the same as that talisman gisaeng girl, right? Wonder if there is supposed to be some parallel...?
Gonna go watch epi 4. Am addicted now...

Sorry- was watching ep 1, but stupidity hit me-- I started to watch it and had to pause it and when I went back to watch it I got an error message. I tried backing out of the page and restarting it, dropping out of Chrome and reloading Chrome AND THEN I really read the error page and said to reload the page and I did that and the page reloaded fine! Too tired at that point to watch, but will get thru some tonight.....

It's funny that right after I mention them being a couple there's news that they broke up.

I just completed episode 3 and I am also liking this drama, at first I was a bit unsure because I hate when the female characters act so stupid-- for instance the scene where the horse/rider and coming fast down the path she is walking on and not only does she just freeze-- which is pretty typical, but then she sits down on the ground- what did she expect that the horse was gonna jump over her!?!??! Same goes with scene of Yoon Na beating her with the flowers-- I could see her losing her temper, yelling, maybe even throwing the flowers at her, but to beat her with them seemed to me very childish and not very common. Was kinda funny, though.... I really like the actor who is playing Boong Do-- he is doing a good job at not knowing anything about the present when he comes in contact with something. I really thought that when they entered the hospital room, he would look out the window and react in some way-- after all he was 13 stories in the air-- that would be shock to anyone who has never been on a elevator! I don't recall watching Rooftop Prince-- where was that mentioned/shown in this drama? I laughed when you brought up her losing the cell phone after holding it out the window! Haven't you ever seen or heard of someone doing something stupid with their phone? My daughter had a friend who has a sister who took her phone in the shower in a zip-loc bag so she could talk to her friends if they called, something happened (can't remember what) but she ruined her phone! The scene of her screaming into the drain was great-- I could so see that happening on a city street with people being so attached to their phones! One question: How did Boong Do know how to get back to his world? I must have missed something, I thought his going between worlds would be a mystery for a while, but he seems to have it all figured out......

Awww, am sad to hear they broke up. I wonder why? They look so cute together. I never like to hear any couple breaking up. Even couples I don't like. Except Sandra Bullock and that slimy ex-husband. Agh, good riddance to him!! I'm on episode 6 right now. I'm really really enjoying it, and I really like Kim Boong Do too. He's not what you'd call handsome but he's endearing, he grows on you. And he's very cute when he smiles. And he gives himself a very nice haircut. Haha, I do agree with you on that... Hee Jin had plenty of time to step aside when the horse came galloping. But I've decided people tend to do stupid things when they are frightened so I can overlook it. What I can't overlook is things like a girl going outside... in the middle of the night... by herself... to investigate... because she heard a noise... RIGHT after she hears on the news... that a serial killer had just escaped... from a nearby prison... Nooooo!!! Whyyyy??? "Rooftop Prince" was not mentioned in this drama. It was just me who mentioned it because that drama is also about time-travel from the Joseon time or something. Their reaction, when they first see the Seoul nightlight, was very funny. And their behaviors toward the lead girl's house appliances had me laughing out loud. They were very cute. Ohmgosh, cellphone in a ziplock bag so she doesn't have to part with it while she showers!!! Now that's true attachment!!! About Kim Boong Do going back to his time - I think the first time he was just looking at the talisman, and then when he started reading it he realizes that this paper had something to do with his time-traveling. And then he started reading the words out loud and before he knew it... presto, he was back. That's how I understood it anyway...

Boy-- did I miss that one! Of course, he was reading the words on the talisman and that took him back to his time period! I guess I was thinking the words on the talisman were what made the paper a talisman, not what made it work-- does that even make sense? I also thought the only way he would get transferred to the current time period was when he was in danger of losing his life-- like when the knife went thru the book, not because he could read the words and get himself transferred to the current time period. What I think I mean, is that the talisman worked because of someone's actions, not because of some words being read. I really like Kim Bong do. He is innocent because he knows nothing of this current world, but he is adjusting without being overly dramatic about it. On the other hand, Han Dong Min is a huge jerk-- I can't believe he would make up a story to go viral about Yoon Na and Hee Jin's reason for being hospitalized-- He really did not think that Yoon Na would not go after her and give her a piece of her mind-- thankfully all she gave Hee Jin was a beating with the flowers because that girl can not afford to lose a piece of her mind, she needs every bit of it just to get thru her day-- what a mean girl!

Hey Fiona, I was trying to watch ep 5 today and the strangest things were happening on Viki-- I was into the episode at around 3/4 the way thru, and it went to commercial. I skipped a couple, then watch a couple, but then the episode came back on it was back at the point I had started around 25 mins. I tried to advance to where I was in the episode, but it went into commercials again and then back to the 25 mins mark. I am now at the third time to try and finish this episode and it is driving me nuts! Can you start episodes mid-way or is it better to just watch a whole episode at one sitting? I don't always get time to get thru a episode without being interrupted by something....thanks any suggestions?? wish I had a talisman that could bring me back and forth in time to watch an episode!

Hey Birdy, that's funny... something like that's never happened to me at Viki. Know what I do when I get interrupted? I don't pause or stop the drama, I just get out of Viki while the drama's still playing. Later when I go back into Viki the drama picks up right where I left off. Good luck!
Regarding the talisman, you're right though. For Kim Boong Do to travel to modern Seoul it does take an action. An action of him dying. Whether it's a knife about to stab him or an arrow about to pierce his heart, whatever. It involves him almost dying. The talisman words are something like "in dying you live" or some such like that. Now on the other hand, when he wants to travel back to his time he has to read out loud the words written on the talisman.
that was funny about you saying Na Jeong can't afford to lose any pieces of her mind... hee hee... As mean as she is, I still don't hate her like some other 2nd lead girls I've hated. As long as she stays away from Kim Boong Do that's fine. She can have Han Dong Min, as long as she leaves Boong Do ssi for Hee Jin ssi.

I think my laptop must be possessed! I gave up on the last 10-15 mins. of episode 5 and started episode 6 and got as far approx 35 mins when it went to a commercial, I got up to get a snack (moochi ice cream) and when I came back the episode was restarting at the beginning! I used the cursor to go back to where I was (but before the commercial) and it started the commercials (I skipped the long ones) and once again it went back to the start of the episode!!! This is crazy-- all I can think of is that I downloaded Windows 8.1 this morning, but I don't know if that would make a difference -- but I am done for the night. Will try something (what I don't know) tomorrow. (On a positive note: the actor who plays Kim Bong Do is growing on me, his smile is so nice,so warm.....)

The folks at Viki wouldn't like me saying this but if you don't want to pay for Viki Pass (Viki paid version. HD video. No ads.) you should get Adblock for your browser. It'll block the commercials/ads in the episodes.

I finished ep 6 this morning.I am really liking this drama (decision on liking Viki is still ongoing ), I really like the whole "cause and effect" situations, especially at the end of this eposode. I really like how Kim Bong Do and Hee Jin react together-- you can see and understand their confusion about their being together, and about the past/present, trying to figure how to get Bong Do to blend in with his modern day surroundings-- but none of it over done, it is on a even keel- even when he disappeared from the shower, the reaction was that the guy watching him was paying too much attention to the cute nurses to notice, which seemed plausible even if the hospital room was small. Even on the plane, I didn't think he would disappear because that would be obvious-- how could he leave a plane!?!?!?-- but other than Dong Min's overreacting (which seems to be the character's personality not a overacting or over writing situation) it was done perfectly. I mean people on the plane could have started screaming-- because of the "stalker" or because of celebrities being on board-- yet it was basically very calm-- and I don't think I saw a single cell phone recording until it came out that Bond Do and Hee Jin were a couple! Even Bong Do's learning about the modern world by reading shows that the writers took time to explain his learning-- and not just have him use a phone or jump in a bus, ect. Love when the actor who plays Bong Do smiles-- so cute (I also like how you keep changing your Avatars, Fiona-- I can't even remember how I changed mine many moons ago so it just stays the same-- not that I complaining about my Avatar )
