WHAT?!?!?! 50!? Why have I always thought it was 60? Wow, what was I thinking? Rats rats rats...I was really looking forward to seeing the decline of JD's power and how Bangwon came to power (in more than just a few episodes). Oh this blows major chunks. I've been enjoying the thing so darned much.
Well okay, thanks for correcting me! Wow I am stunned. It seemed like the thing easily has 15 more episodes in it beyond 45. They're really going to wrap this up in five more? Bummer.
At least that explains why you guys saw the final episodes; I was wondering because we had only been running two weeks behind Korea and I couldn't understand how you got so far ahead.

I was as stunned as you were when I realized I was near the end. Maybe they were afraid of dragging it BTW has anybody made this connection? www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPF6zemxjMU

Wow, sageuk that is a great clip...and very disturbing. I've been a little disappointed by the soundtrack because it's been too heavy on strings and too light on winds. But this is a much bigger problem. Obviously it was plagiarized. OBVIOUSLY. Geez they even wrote it in the same key! Somebody's gonna get it, somebody's gonna get it....

Congratulations to Yu Dong Geun(Lee Seonggye) for winning the Grand Award(Daesang) at the KBS Drama Awards, his first since 2002, and the first person from a traditional historical to do so since CSJ's Dae Jo Young role in 2007!
Also Congratulations to Cho Jae Hyun(Jeong Dojeon) for winning the Choiusu Award(2nd place) as well as Producers' Award.
Congratulations to Park Young Gyu(Lee In Yim) for winning Usu Award(3rd place).
Last but not least, congratulations to Jeong Hyun Min(writer of JD) for winning the Best Writer of the Year Award!

Hmmm...I'm not at all sure I'd have ranked LSG's portrayal above JD's. The guy who played JD did an outstanding job and it was a much more complicated character to portray.
But then it wouldn't be the first time I groaned at some of those awards. Oh well...
But definitely give that writer any award you can find! I give him big-time credit for doing his homework; he obviously put in tons of research hours and it sure paid off in the finished product. Certainly that's a lot harder than taking real historical characters and just making up a bunch of stuff that never happened.
P.S. Just a heads-up that I'll be moving this show board over to "Off Air" in the next week or two. It finished airing a while ago and we'll be adding a board for "Book of Corrections" on the main page soon.

Jeong Mongju's letter to his friend stolen by a Japanese during Imperial Japan era has been returned to Korea this month. economy.hankooki.com/lpage/society/201501/e2015011600181093760.htmThe letter says "The flowers are blooming and the jugs are being filled with wines, so I'm sure you are feeling joyful. This old geezer(himself) is too busy with affairs of the country that he can't enjoy such pleasure with you. I am just wondering why the Heavens are doing this to me. I am just so envious of you. I am assuming you finished Zhu Xi's book that you borrowed from me by now, so I sincerely ask you to return it to me as soon as possible. July 16th, 1385. Mongju."

Tht's a great story truth--thanks for sharing it. Was the letter just discovered, or was someone in Japan holding onto it and refusing to return it? Curious to know if the article mentions that.
I wonder if Mongju ever got his book back!

I wonder if Mongju ever got his book back! No one knew the existence of the letter until the Japanese voluntarily returned it today. Unfortunately, we don't know whether the book was returned. Too bad it was just discovered this year. It could have been included in the storyline for this drama if it was discovered at least a year earlier.

A wildfire broke out near Choi Young's tomb yesterday in Korea. Fortunately, it was extinguished before it spread to his tomb.

Thanks for joining us mayhar. Very impressive that you're subbing a drama, especially a difficult historical like JD. Right now people are watching the Jingbirok series (or at least they're trying to) but that one has only 20 episodes left and I'm sure people will be looking around for earlier series when it ends. Best of luck with your project!
