gall.dcinside.com/list.php?id=mbc_drama&no=1112945&page=1&search_pos=-1097683&k_type=0100&keyword=%EA%B3%84%EB%B0%B1&bbs=Here is a video of Gyebaek actors The armors look very RPG just like all other MBC historicals 1st actor : Lee Seo Jin - Gyebaek(1st with his slave/or commoner costume and then with the RPG armor) 2nd actor : Cha In Pyo - Mujin (Gyebaek's father) fictional character 3rd actor : Cho Jae Hyun - King Uija (last king of Baekjae) Actress : Oh Yeon Su - Queen Sataek (Uija's stepmother in the drama. Real mother in history) This actress played Jumong's mother in Jumong. 4th actor : Choi Jong Hwan - King Mu (Uija's father) Younger version of him was made into drama in SBS Seo Dongyo. 5th actor : Ahn Gil Gang (bad guy role, fictional. Chil Sook in QSD) 6th actor : Yoon Da Hoon (bad guy role, fictional) 7th actor : Kim Yu Seok - Heung Soo 8th actor : Jin Tae Hyun - Queen Sataek's son(fictional character). It looks like this guy is going to be Yeo Chan of Gyebaek and King Uija is going to be Yeo Gu. Queen Sataek's role is probably gonna be similar to that evil queen from Geunchogo. This drama is set to start in Korea on July 25th. I haven't been watching any historical since Geunchogo ended cuz Gwanggaeto sucks ass, so it looks like this is gonna be my next historical. I'm not watching Gwanggaeto for 5 reasons. 1. I hate the main actor. 2. The same old slave storyline which never happened in history. 3. Too much yelling. The director of Gwanggaeto is known for making everyone in his drama yell all the time. It was the same in DJY. I liked DJY, but I don't want to watch another season of DJY(thats basically what this drama is) I mean like almost all actors from DJY are back in this drama 4. Childish dialogue 5. Flaming sword This is to "Truth". Why did you mention hating the main actor in Gwanggaeto. Now I am forced to say that maybe or maybe not I will/won't watch this drama, due to the fact that I dislike the main actor. He did horrible as the main protagonist in SBS Yeon Gaesomoon(2006). He did so bad that many people called the drama Emperor Yang of Sui instead of Yeon Gaesomoon. Emperor Yang was a bad guy, but he was a much better actor and his scenes were lot more intriguing than Yeon Gaesomoon scenes. Kim Kap Su, the actor that played Emperor Yang, even won the Grand Award for SBS that year while Yeon Gaesomoon/Gwanggaeto actor Lee Tae Gon won nothing.

I'm curious about the actor's track record if he did so badly for the 2006 drama. The producers surely can't be ostriches not to know the general opinion of the viewers?

I'm curious about the actor's track record if he did so badly for the 2006 drama. The producers surely can't be ostriches not to know the general opinion of the viewers? They probably had no choice. KBS weekend historicals have been doing very poorly for years. DJY(2006-2007)was the last time it drew high ratings. It even reached over 30% on some episodes. Every other historicals after that, such as GKS, Iron Empress, King Geunchogo did very poorly. Many named actors may have thought that Gwanggaeto will do just as bad as the previous ones. Despite my dislike of the main actor, Gwanggaeto is actually doing good cuz it's being directed and produced by the creator of DJY. The ratings are going up by 0.5-1.0% every episode. Gwanggaeto even drew 15% on the last episode, which is something that Geunchogo could never do. I'm hoping it gets even higher so that a good actor can take the lead role for the next weekened historical. KBS might also be able to spend more money on making historical armors instead of using Viking armors and Warcraft armors like Gwanggaeto.

The ratings are actually getting higher every episode now for Gwanngaeto although I don't watch the show. The director of Iron Empress will be directing Kim Choon Chu. Here are KBS's plan after Gwanngaeto ends. Kim Choon Chu -> King Munmu(Choon Chu's son) -> Dae Muye(DJY's son)

I don't know what's so bad about it. The reason Iron Empress was so bad has nothing to do with the director. The writer was the problem. The director of Iron Empress also directed AOW. You don't think AOW was so bad, right? If Kim Choon Chu(a.k.a King Taejong Muyul) just gets itself a good writer, it could be the next AOW, who knows? EWG ratings for Sageuks now is pretty much impossible. Even QSD couldn't do that. The ratings for Gwanggaeto is actually going up by every episode. It seems that many Korean viewers find DJY style sageuk to be more entertaining rather than Geunchogo or GKS style. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if Gwanggaeto's ratings go up as high as DJY did.

The main actor in Gwanggaeto is Lee Tae Gon. The post confused me, because it was about 2 different dramas. www.hancinema.net/korean_drama_Gwanggaeto_the_Great.phpLee Seo Jin is my favorite actor.

That's correct. My post was orignally about Gyebaek, then I mentioned that this was going to be my next historical since I wasn't watching Gwanggaeto. I don't know why Gracien thought I don't like Lee Seo Jin. Did any one watch the video link I posted? Armors look very silly, but it should be okay as long as it has a good storyline.

No, no, no, I did not say that. I said why should you mention not liking the lead in Gwanggaeto, now it forces me to say I do not like the lead actor Lee Seo Jin in Gyebaek. The moderator scored the intent. Misinterpretation!!!!

If you don't like Lee Seo Jin, then that's your choice as well and I have no problem with that.

I have always liked him, due to certain causes I chose to be lightfooted. In making my statement, I was happy to hear someone else disliked a lead character, so it prompted me to do the same. Your intent was well justified so was mine so please do not feel offended.

Truth I liked the video although I wish I knew what they were talking about. It seems to me that the place where Lee Seo Jin was taking pictures outside is the same place QSD was filmed. Does anyone know who will sub the drama?
