I see snow, no picture. ETA: also, the time on this site is one hour behind, and it's time to see Janghwa at the Dragon House. eta2: I just called the station, but noone answered after I pushed 0 for operator.

I tried to tune in on my kitchen set with the converter box - I got a freeze frame from about 2:30 to 4:30 - then nothing but static and snow - I tuned in 599/Comcast and got a shaky picture and distorted sound; that was around 5:50 pm. However, Love and Obsession came in fine. I didn't bother to go to the kitchen to check CH41 to see if the show came in okay or not. Did you get a good picture and sound for LAO??? Hope so - but if you missed it - Mysoju has episodes listed and they are clear so you can at least see what you missed, if you did miss an episode.

The Freeze-frame of people standing in a field started sometime around 11:00 AM and ended abruptly about 4:15 PM. Interesting to hear that 'Obsession' aired on the Comcast side, but not broadcast. Uh, should this thread be in the "Off Air" Section?

I'm obsessed with Love and Obsession! ;D (I hope that Jangwha gets what she deserves! And her husband sees her as she really is.)

Bo - No, me no have Dish. I tried to get their service a couple of years ago, but there were some issuse that I couldn't get resolved - They make it real hard to talk to someone other than a sales rep, and the reps are just in a phone bank somewhere (Boseman, Hyderabad, Halifax?) and can't connect you to the actual company in Boulder. I finally decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

So, has anybody heard anything from the station? I sure hope it won't be like last time, where they (and we) have to wait for a part to be delivered before they can fix it. .

I hope it's that simple. I'm behind on recycling papers, and I just found this, from Sept. 5, "WLS-Ch.7 gets boost on power" WLS expects to be broadcasting on Ch. 44 by mid-October (and go back to its original power). {But they'll be on Ch. 7 still. Huh?} There were lots of people who couldn't get Ch. 7, so they doubled the power on Sept. 4, until they get settled on a new [whatever/place/ frequency]. I just hope they haven't messed up our channel.

I emailed the station and this was their response:
KBC is off the air due to problems with our fiber optic feed to our transmitter. We are working to get service restored as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and apologize for this service outage. KBC is still broadcasting on its digital sister station channel 13-1, on Comcast channel 599, and on AT&T Uverse channel 41.
I haven't been able to get 13-1 but do they show the same programs as 41?

I emailed the station and this was their response: Thanks, fern!! Uh, oh, does that mean they won't show the missing episodes? If they show them, they'll be out of sync with their "sister channel." I haven't been able to get 13 either.

I have a very bad feeling. If Soapygrams could confirm back with a report on what she's been watching the past couple of days on her cable connection hopefully she could prove me wrong. However, if I'm interpreting her initial report from the first day of interrupted on-air transmission and KBC's response that they're continuing to show scheduled programming on their other outlets correctly, we that are without a signal at the moment are basically "SOL" as far as missing all the shows. When the station "winked" off at the beginning of the month, the Saturday episode of "He Who Can't Marry" was affected, but the regular Sunday episode was shown on Sunday when the station resumed transmission and I ended up missing Saturday's episode as a result (I wasn't up at that hour, but if the station was back on the air at 5AM Sunday, they did indeed show the repeat at that time).
All in all, I'm very disappointed with the lack of public relations from KBC during this blackout period.

I haven't posted in ages (though I still watch all the time, not to mention peaking at the boards,) but this situation with the transmission is so out of control. Even channel 13.1 can't manage to stay on. Today was absolutely frustrating when the transmission deteriorated during the last episode of He Who Can't Get Married. It's bad enough that the administration has resorted to reshowing really old dramas (which I can only suppose is based on finances,) but they can't even manage to broadcast them---sheesh. I've heard form various sources that there are cash flow problems at the station, but this is a sure way to insure that the audience base will be less likely to tune in. How short sighted. Wish we could get them to listen to us!!!!

I second the thanks, fern. I, too, haven't logged on, though I also peak. I've been addicted to KBC since '07, sometime during "Likable or Not". I actually stayed awake to watch "He Who Can't Marry" that Sunday morning. I'm thankful you can find episodes online (though I prefer watching them on TV) because I think the world goes on for cable people (I can't get 13-1, either), while we're out in the cold . It's great there was a response, but I wish they kept viewers better informed, as they did when they went down while waiting for a repair part.
