I think most of us are happy for Ok-ja who becomes pregnant later in life. She's such a nice person that we're happy that she, at least, gets some joy in life other than serving her controlling sister, Ok-jin.
Remember when Ok-jin had the dream of seeing 3 fish in a bathtub? Perhaps it's because that gentle In-young will have a child, but Ok-ja will have twins.
It will be a happy occasion for In-young and Ok-ja, but Ok-jin will strongly resent her sister having babies later in life. It seems that Ok-jin only wants her sister to serve her and her families needs.
This will leave Ok-jin more responsible for caring for the household while her DIL and sister are too busy caring for their babies.

I nearly passed out when I heard Okja complaining to Okjin that she did nothing around the house anyway so why pretend to be sick. Good grief both IY & Okjin bring her water, coffe, paper, breakfast, lunch dinner. Next thing you know she'll want them wiping her butt!
How rude of that doctor who said you're old but your pregnant. What a horrible bedside manner.

Yes, it was two fishes, which made Ok-jin think In-young was having twins. "A double conception dream" is what I remember her saying. So there's that second baby, as predicted! I love the traditional magical/shamanistic aspects of Korean culture. Remember on "My Precious Child" when Jee-hae (gosh, was that her name??) had a dream about standing in a stream and Jae-min bringing her juicy peaches? That was a good conception dream, too.
I enjoyed that dream of Ok-jin's. She sees herself as so delighted and happy and simple in that dream. She practically claps her hands with glee. I think that's the way she thinks she mostly is; she has simple wants (though strenuously and rudely pursued) and probably doesn't see herself as overbearing or even particularly mean. Whereas we see her behavior as absolutely horrible and almost intolerable. She has a real blind spot there.

I don't know if the writers know this or it's a cultural belief in Korea, but it is actually true that sometimes a lack of pregnancy symptoms ( going to the bathrom a lot, tired, eating more, nausea) in the first three months can indicate the hormonal levels aren't going well. OTOH, usually, if you have a lot of symptoms the pregnancy will "keep". (Of course those are generalities but it is true.) So, I wonder if IY's lack of symptoms and OJ's full symptoms are foreshadowing to the success of their respective pregnancies ...

I'm just worried that Ok-ja's pregnancy won't go as smooth as it's supposed to. Ok-jin will definately oppose and reduce Ok-ja to tears (guesswork, it's how I see thing going) and then Ok-ja will be defended by her husband who gets tongue-lashed by Ok-jin.... Sad... But it could be....

I'm with Catalpa in the bad feeling about In-young's pregnancy. I think I have heard what you're saying about the lack of symptoms tending to presage problems. I hate to see another miscarriage on a Korean drama, and I think In-young has gone through enough already! Do you think that if she did lose the baby, Screech Mom would go back to being mean to her? Personally, I think she wouldn't revert but that she would change her behavior to her. She would probably find some way of making this her disappointment more than In-young's and would be very insensitive to IY's pain. She'd probably make some reckless remarks and be surprised when people took offense. You know how she does.

Ok-jin is so mean! She should be happy for her sister that she's pregnant! My goodness! As a sister, she should be overjoyed. What kind of sister is Ok-jin?! She treats her own sister like crap. I hope Ok-jin doesn't give Ok-ja a hard time during the pregnancy.

I'm with Catalpa in the bad feeling about In-young's pregnancy. I think I have heard what you're saying about the lack of symptoms tending to presage problems. Gee, I must be really strange then .... I had 8 FULL TERM babies and only had 2 days of morning sickness with the first baby only. Had healthy babies ... I do not think it presages disaster if you are not suffering morning sickness etc. In fact, as the MIL is having "sympathy" pregnancy symptoms, many fathers-to-be have also had them and the wife DOES NOT, but the baby is just fine. I think this is just one of those "old wives' tales" ... every woman is different in how she reacts to being pregnant and also it is different with every pregnancy.

Poor Ok-ja was given a tongue-lashing by her sister when Ok-jin found a hospital card for Ok-ja. To show how mean Ok-jin is, she didn't have any warmth for her sister who is so happy to be pregnant at last. I think Ok-ja will have twins. How cruel of her sister to want to deny her any happiness. Ok-jin's only thought is for Ok-ja to care for her future grandchild while taking care of the house.
I, too, just fear that In-young will have a miscarriage. Her crazy MIL only likes her now because she's pregnant. I fear that In-young may lose that child, making her life miserable at home. In-young may very well find herself in love with Jae-min. She sent a book for his son who is still to young to enjoy a present.
In-young's success will be only to produce a grandchild for her crazy MIL. If that does occur, MIL will resent her sister's babies, so unexpected, that they'll demand their mother's attention.

Okay I saw this episode yesterday and that mother in law is PSYCHO!!!!!!!!! She is so mean, I couldn't believe she was screaming and yelling at her sister for being pregnant AND THEN, she has the guts to tell her "you cant have that baby!" What the heck does she mean not have the baby? Does she expect her sister to have an abortion? Shouldn't she be happy for her sister? I think I've seen about 2 other episodes of this drama, and in those this mother in law is just crazy. I would go crazy if I marry someone who has a mother like that. Hasn't anybody confronted this woman about her selfish and greedy ways? Somebody needs to seriously tell her something.

I thought Ok-jin only saw two fish in the bathtub. One for In-young and the other for Ok-ja? The first time around, I also thought I saw three fishes in the bathtub. At the time, I figured that meant that In-young would have one child, and Aunt would have twins. Only when I looked closer for a second time did I see that there were only two fishies swimming around in there. I guess the all the bathtub reflections had some of us fooled.
