Thanks, soapygrams. I think you're right (obviously!), everyone reacts differently to being pregnant. I mean, if every cold you have can have different, varying symptoms, why shouldn't pregnancy?
8 babies? You must have/have had a happy, boisterous home. My dad's mom had 13, and my mom's mom had 11 (one who died in infancy), and they both worked hard almost every day of their lives and didn't take out time to be morning-sick, so who knows if they were actually sick or not. My sister's had 3, and she never got sick, though. (Well, okay, she was terrifyingly unreasonable, but you gotta make SOME allowances, LOL.)

Yeah, I just watched the episode cause i missed it yesterday, but ok-jin didn't stop saying mean things to ok-ja, even when ok-ja was in tears.. How insensitive of her. It's always about keeping up appearences for other people... "what will other people think if..." "others will laugh if..."

Why is Ok jin so mean and thoughtless? I have been trying to understand her character but so far I cannot really comprehend why she is so driven about "keeping up appearances" .. [which is also the title of that really humorous Brit comedy on CH11 - but Hyacinth is not mean just thoughtless] We have only heard references to Ok jin's MIL being mean and nasty to her - was that because Ok jin came from a poor family? She is so nasty to her own sister and seems to think that Ok ja and her husband would not be able to take care of themselves without her "bounty". The uncle works for Ok jin's company or something ... the aunt is practically her slave. There are few times when we see them together as a family that she is not saying something mean to someone. Do you think there really are people like her? Lucky me, I have never met anyone quite as bad as Ok jin. LOL ;D

i think that ok-jin is jeoulus because she wanted to be the only one that could have children, it made her "special"
thats the only reason why i see she's so upset with her sister being pregnant. other people would be delighted that she was able to get pregnant

I think that Ok-jin will be very jealous because her sister will be getting a lot of attention by having a baby, (maybe twins) later in life.
In tonight's episode, In-young clutched her stomach which doesn't seem to be a good sign. The real dilemma will come if In-young loses her baby, but Ok-ja delivers some very healthy twins.

Okay I saw this episode yesterday and that mother in law is PSYCHO!!!!!!!!! She is so mean, I couldn't believe she was screaming and yelling at her sister for being pregnant AND THEN, she has the guts to tell her "you cant have that baby!" What the heck does she mean not have the baby? Does she expect her sister to have an abortion? Shouldn't she be happy for her sister? Hasn't anybody confronted this woman about her selfish and greedy ways? Somebody needs to seriously tell her something. Once, her son objected to her behavior and ScreechMom ended up in the hospital. Then he bought an apartment for himself and In Young to move into after SM had been awful while KJ was out of town. But IY refused to move, because then she would have wasted all that effort in trying to be a saint, for nothing. At times viewers have suggested that IY's aunt or Grandpa might scold her, or SM might lose all her money and be humbled, or she does it out of inferiority, or (I wanted) her rich friends to overhear and be horrified. Maybe her brother-in-law will find another job and have them move out. Anyway, I wish they both weren't so much at her mercy. Sister and BIL are too dependent on her, and KJ doesn't witness everything, and Jin-ah is just like SM. They should all drag her to a monastery--but I guess that's illegal, and counterproductive too.

That's "bookAY" Oof! It took me a moment to tie that in with SG's mention, Colette! (Also, I thought you were making a funny about a bookie at the monastery, but my brain hurt on that one...)

i don't know, you would think the Aunt would stay mad at her sister for disregarding her feelings like that. And for making it diffiuclt on her all these years, but that's not what she ends up doing... Although, i think she urged Ok-jin to go on that trip to finally have the chance to get RID OF HER! ^^ lol

Well I guess the semi-consensus that Inyoung was going to have a miscarriage was right. How sad, and how odd that it was because she was "weak." I'm assuming this wasn't weak for any specific reason, just that the doc thought she was a weak person in general. This means that she'll be even more cloistered next time, though I bet that screechy won't see all of her yelling as stressful.

Aunt must feel awkward now that she's the only one pregnant. I wonder if ScreechMom will give her sister a hard time? I hope not.

Well, yknow, that really bugs me that the storyline is that she's "weak". Believe it or not (and most doctors probably wouldn't talk about this but it has been studied), virgin brides who get pregnant soon after the first time have a higher risk of miscarriage b/c they are not accustomed to, er, their husbands. I don't think it's common knowledge. And only very rarely does phyiscal activity cause a miscarriage and then only if it's extreme like a professional athlete doing competitive training maybe -- it's only among women with a rare condition called cervical incompetence. It's tragic when a woman has it, but one early m/c early in a marriage is absolutely no reason, in and of itselt, to call a woman "weak". It sounds to me like the writers are using folk widsom which tends to be spotty in its accuracy.
Sigh. Sorry but this is one of my "pet subjects", pregnancy and childbirth, so these storylines really get to me!!! Aigu!
