This has certainy become a drama. But I'll keep my word and will pick a place on Monday. I never thought it would become something that actually needed actual planning . So tune in on Monday for location. Have a good weekend!!! This is becoming a drama? ? As long as i'm not cast as a member of the Choi family, that sounds good to me! ! ! THANKS for your hard work!

Ok i dont want to complicate this more, but there is a Korean Karaoke spot off of western and Foster that could handle a fairly large crowd.

Well, I'm checking out JP's spot and another one in the area tonight. I don't think I can make it over to Western n Foster. Maybe a Karoke place may be too loud. I will give the full report what I find on Bryn Mawr tonight and we can go from there. Do you know the name of the Karoke place? Do they have a web site?

Ok i dont want to complicate this more, but there is a Korean Karaoke spot off of western and Foster that could handle a fairly large crowd. Let's stick with the cafe at this point. If people want to head off to a karaoke spot or restaurant later, then fine. But We Don't Have Time to Change Course Right Now. My opinion is that chigirl should just check out the places Albie narrowed it down to and not drag her boyfriend all over Lincolnwood or wherever the heck it is. If anyone wants to start some other plan, just check out the info yourself, bring it with you to the get-together, and talk about it there. Okay? Bo PS - Jacques, I have a friend who married a Korean woman, who is going to tell me if she knows any good Korean restaurants in that area. I'll have info next week, I hope.

OK guys. Here was our little adventure. We did have dinner at Boo Ill restaurant. That is what is on the business card. The one woman that did speak a little English was very helpful. This may be a good choice for a later gathering. BTW OB beer is pretty good. The Art Zone place was not open. The hours said 12:00-11:00. Which I would assume noon - 11:00pm. I have the phone number now so I can call and check out hours and when they WILL be open. Looks pretty cool from the store front. I did get to check out the Boba. Net cafe. They were very accomodationg. They even said we could rearrange the furniture for our little get together. There is a pretty large TV at the front of the place and they DO NOT have cable! We just have to confirm a week in advance. Even tho the one guy spoke pretty decent english, I may ask Michael for help in this department if we decide on this one. At this time I would go with Boba.net. Unless I can confirm something with the Art Zone. but, then I couldn't see how big the place is. Let me know your thoughts. Bo is it poll time again???

can I tell you I can still taste the garlic!!! Not that I mind. Albie and Bo both gave me a fire under my butt to get out there and good ideas to look for. My bf got a dinner out of it so he's OK now playing his PS2. So I cannot and will not take all credit for getting out there and having some fun. Now we all need to have some fun together.

Aaah...the heavenly aroma of garlic! ;D Inspired by Walter's thread in DJG about Korean restaurants, me and me gyal went out to this place that advertises on our local K-channel for a full-course tabletop Goatmeat and Aromatic Herbs stirfry dinner with soju-strawberry cocktails and let me tell you...we consumed enough garlic to last the rest of the month of May! ;D

This was my first in a tradiotional Korean restaurant. And it was awkward but I still used the chopsticks. Good thing they didn't offer forks and I was not going to ask. My bf ate everything with his soup spoon I need to go to a Korean restaurant with someone who knows what is going on. I like information and it's difficult with a language barrier. I'd luv to learn Korean and a bunch of other languages but it's difficult for me. I can tell musical notes but when it comes to words I am tone deaf. This can make what I say mean completely different from what I mean. I still say sammich.

Thanks Chi for finishing what I kind of started. So it is Boba Net after all. Now if I could only remember the name of the place I had bibimbap that Saturday. Very small restaurant a little bit west of the Boba, same side of the street. Anyway it is well recommended and the young waiter was proficient in English. I'd say if you can't get through on the phone to the Art Zone, which was inexplicably closed for me, too, that's 3 strikes they're out. Now we just have to figure out why Boba Net isn't listed in the phone book or the internet, according to a few of us.
