Jacques -
The nearest actual HOTEL (I think) is the Marriot on Touhy Ave. at Lincoln Ave. in Lincolnwood, IL, about a mile north of Bryn Mawr. I don't know what the actual NAME of it is; most of us here refer to it as "the purple hotel" ('cause it is). It is right off of Interstate 94.

Since the get-together is confirmed for 6/19, I'll go ahead and request flights and hotel from my office. See you then! P.S. Can we look forward 2 a screening of Dae Janggeum at the venue?

Boba Net-- I thought that was what they called it. You know, the place on BrynMawr with the dynamite red bean shakes. Btw, I don't know about the Marriott but if you're gonna stay in Lincolnwood, the Radisson is a very Korean Hotel that has advertised heavily on Ch28. I've stayed there and can recommend it heartily.

I don't know about boo-teek, but the area around Lincoln and Bryn Mawr Avenues is like motel city. There's the Guest House, the Cherrokee, the Summit, and the O-Mi. Up and down that strectch of Lincoln Ave are even more motels, like the Rio and the Stars up by Peteson and McCormick Umm..just so you know...those places are known to rent "by the hour", if you know what i mean... Also, you may find some surprises you don't want to see...

Thanx Yobo. Neee, this property came up on my fact sheet with a note saying that it's undergoing renovation. Something about it used to be a Radisson and is becoming a Ramada, or vice versa. About that purple Marriott, the only one came up in the Lincolnwood area is the one on Oak Brook. Couldn't see if it was purple, maybe Soju WAS thinking about your Radisson/Ramada as well ;D I can see why the Chicago-area fans have never gotten together yet--the city is too BIG and spread-out for you guys to decide where and what! ;D I mean this OMR-esque mystery about Boba Net has gone on for about a week now and is becoming a "drama" in and of itself! ;D

This has certainy become a drama. But I'll keep my word and will pick a place on Monday. I never thought it would become something that actually needed actual planning . So tune in on Monday for location. Have a good weekend!!!

No I'm not doing all the work. Bo has been quite helpful. So thanks Bo. The are others that have made suggestions (like yobo and Jp) and that has been very helpful. I don't mind checking out the places for two reasons: 1. I live kinda close to the cafe shops on bryn mawr and 2. I get some time off from my baby girl for an hour (that's all I can really afford ) So I really don't mind doing some of the work. Again, I want to say good job and thanks to everyone that made suggestions and helped along the way b/c this is a group effort not just an individual!!!

Yo, Bo, yobo. That "Art Gallery" you referred to seemed to me to be the place JP was trying to remember, too, so I checked it out and it was closed Saturday afternoon though the sign said open at noon. It's the Art Zone Gallery Cafe at 3238 BrynMawr. The mysterious "Boba" is about a block west on the south side of the street, Albie, in case you want to look into it. Seems big enough for a gathering, but don't forget to be sure the places are open Saturday evenings. I didn't notice the sign but a menu inside said Boba Net. (Jacques, in reference to your Burt Bacharach/Michael Caine reference, I can only say Frere Jacques, Frere Jacques, Dormez-vous?) I wish I could help more with this, but I don't live in that neighborhood anymore, not since I was 3, being a Crystal Lake resident now. So I guess if/when Jacques shows up I lose my chance for the Longest Distance Travelled Award.

Okay, I deleted the offending message and P-M'd it to Albie. (Or "Al" as she came up).
Now--let's leave the poor gal alone until next week.
