After Idol Ray’s love object, class president Sekyung, confesses her love to Arang, he lets her down gently, to Minyoung’s (MY) great disappointment. Byunghoon (BH) asserts to MY that everything will work out fine, plus this is a great opportunity for them to present the clueless Ray to her as a consolation prize. Privately, however, BH checks several times with Arang to make sure he’s not in love with Sekyung himself, and is reassured that Arang has no attraction to her (or anyone).
DAC proceeds with operation Idol, including setting up a hand-holding run from his rabid fans for Ray and Sekyung and a shy confession on a talk show by Ray that he has a secret, unrequited crush at school. She seems to be falling for the guy.
Meanwhile, Moojin has attracted the attention of Ray’s manager. When she asks what agency he’s with, he says “Cyrano,” not realizing she means a management agency. She’s never heard of Cyrano, but offers him her card and says she can make him a star. This appears to start a reflective train of thought in Moojin. He watches the Master’s new waitress, Hyeri, from afar as well. On her side, there appears to be some friendly interest, but also a feeling she is being rebuffed by him.
MY talks everyone’s ear off, prying into BH’s private love life and making every effort to talk Sekyung (who comes to her for advice) into falling for Ray, despite her own reservations about Arang’s true feelings. She pries around the library, trying to find out what the scoop is on BH’s past. She also stumbles onto the two thugs sitting obediently at the bar in the Master’s restaurant. These unworthies pretend to be shaking him down, and MY falls for it.
We find out Yiseol became BH's "Watson" at school, and that she was sent to him by his best friend (Go Do-il) who gave him the stage name, Seo Ilrok. Go Do-il is the one we saw talking with him at school previously.
DAC’s proposed denouement of the story of Ray and Sekyung (two Koreans kids doing the best they can) comes at school. MY convinces Sekyung that Ray is dematriculating (in fact, he’s promising the principal to stay in school), so Sekyung runs to stop him. She meets him in the music room, and just before she can declare whatever it is she meant to say, two things happen. First, Arang rushes in to tell Ray to skedaddle, as two reporters have snuck onto campus to find out this mystery girl, and BH rushes from the surveillance truck because he’s seen someone in the schoolyard. In front of MY, BH confronts his lost love, Yiseol.
And Arang declares his heart to Sekyung and kisses her.

Okay, this director CLEARLY missed the money moment in this last set of scenes. You don’t close with BH taking a look for the first time in a long time at his old school friend. Nothing happening there! You close with the romantic kiss. Jesu jesu. Such a yutz. I know he's trying to draw an equivalent, but he got it wrong way round (dramatically).
Although I find the boy Idol himself a yawn, I am rather taken with the Sekyung/Arang angle and I hope it works out with them. And if Moojin becomes an antihero type actor--like, say, Uhm Tae-woong--I will be giddy with delight. I think there must be something pertinent in the agent telling Moojin to come see her in secret--something peculiar to Korean show business--but I can't think what that might be.
I always enjoy sly self-referentialness. For instance, BH notes that "running while holding hands" is a "classic," a guaranteed heart-grabber, but also it's a classic and cliche of dramas about celebrity lovers, e.g. He's Beautiful, Celebrity Sweetheart, etc. Very good.
So here's a funny thing. I went back to look at the subtitles for this on DF, and I see that there's a whole section at the beginning that I just missed, where Sekyung remembers why she likes Arang so much. I previously watched it on the Roku, and it seems they just didn't include that part. I've had this experience before watching DF shows on Hulu, but I was watching it on DF's channel on the Roku! So, my point is, if I miss something you think is very important, bring it up, because I might not have actually seen it.
