Whoops you caught me there ,but considering the real Jini was not a dancer its hard to grasp how old she is when this ends as she died in her early 40's maybe 10 years before , also there are at least three other Jini dramas we have not seen or will so for the older stuff unless its clear where a drama ends we are assuming the drama will end with persons death . AKJ may hate this as it could be a pain in the rear ,but i was thinking with some dramas we could put up the opening theme ,nah maybe not as they will probably get yanked on you tube by KBS .

Thanks for the update, Bo--these dates are going to be a real problem. In some cases it's not even clear exactly when the show began or ended.
I went through the Spanish Wikipedia list today; most of the shows are already listed here, but not all. (Gave us some better dates, too, so that was good.) I made a separate list of the shows from their list that aren't here yet. MTR, some of the ones you said you can do are on that list, so whenever you have a few free minutes if you want to do those, then I'll do the others when you're finished. Really appreciate the help.
The way it's shaping up, I think ultimately I'll add a sentence below each show listing to indicate who or what the subject is. And maybe will add episode totals too. But that's down the road.
P.S. MTR we can certainly think about clips and links and things...further down the road. That would be phase three.
P.P.S. I added the time-travel dramas (the ones I know of) as a footnote at the bottom. Thought about it and I figured we should at least mention them, blecch...but not in the main list.

Does Hwang Jini's drama actually run to the end of her life? Because my notes say she died in 1560, not 1550. No it didn't. SBS Love For A Thousand Years (2003) - Time travel drama about a Baekje princess that comes to present day Seoul after the fall of Baekje.

AKJ good idea about a brief description of what each one is about aside from the obvious like Jang Hee Bin all of them .The further back we go we only have Korean names ,than we have 20th century dramas like Age Of Heroes and The Rustic Period . I will track down time frames on the ones mentioned soon .

Your list is really starting to look good (graphically, I mean). I like putting in the sentences about who each drama is about.
Whom? LOL...

About those sentences...since I haven't seen most of these shows I'm just going by what I can figure out from searching online. If anybody can suggest a better description than what's here, please do so and I'll be glad for the help.
But it does seem to be shaping up. Like I said, I'll wait until we decide whatever about a color scheme before I try to do anything fancier, but for now it's at least showing the information in an okay format. Still have several dozen more series to add, and have to fill out the post- Koryo series, so still a lot to do. Didn't know there were so many of these things out there.

Okay, so I notice this and I hope it hasn't been addressed already but here goes.
You have Heo Jun (sorry I just believe it's correct that way) as covering the years between 1546 and 1615. I have that Dr Heo died in 1615, and was born in 1539. It's been awhile since I watched the drama, but I thought it began with Dr Heo, before he became a doctor, engaging in shady activities in his hometown. He's clearly a young man, maybe only a teenager but no younger than 16 I'd say, and more reasonably, at least 20 if we take his circumstances into account. So the action could not have started any earlier (if he was 16) than 1555. The drama may have had an opening that listed a different date, but if he was really born in 1539, then 1555 would be a better opening date to start the drama's action.

If you watched the thing than that's what I'm looking for. Made the change and also now showing both forms of the name.

Done--at least for now. I've posted everything that I was able to scrape together from every available source. Appearance-wise I won't mess with it any more, at least not for now. What I need now is for people to look for missing or incorrect information. Some of the older remaining questions will be very tough to answer, but I'll keep looking. If there are any current or recent series missing, somebody please point them out and I'll add them.
Now I see what truth was talking about a while ago when he said something about there being so many Chosun dramas. Amazing that the earlier centuries are so underrepresented.

Yes, especially since there do seem to be written records available. Good job, ajk.

I actually prefer the pre-Chosun dramas. Seems like everything about the Chosun society was very rigid, and earlier dramas have more leeway to present interesting stories and characters.

What I need now is for people to look for missing or incorrect information. I'm curious about something. You have Moon that Embraces the Sun under the Fantasy category. It's a fusion fantasy drama about a King and a shaman so I have no issue with that. But, you include Damo and Jang Ok Jung, Living in Love with the other dramas. Damo is one of my all-time favorite dramas. Still, it's based on a comic book and has people fighting while flying through the air. I would consider that a fantasy series too. Jang Ok Jung, Living in Love is fusion romance drama based on a novel by Choi Jung Mi. She was also the writer for the series. She had no problem with butchering history to make her story work. Maybe it's not fantasy but should be noted as a fusion romance drama with no real history. I mean, Kim Tae Hee is wearing high heels in a scene and the production team didn't think it was a big deal when asked about it.

This is something I totally struggled with and I still don't know what the right answer is. Generally if I could find some source of information that gave me an approximate date, I put the series in the main list even if it's a non-traditional series. I didn't see Damo but the second Hong Gil Dong was all fly-through-the-air too...and I didn't want to separate the second one from the first one. And I did get a 1695 date for Damo so put it there and flagged it as fusion. (Would you consider it fantasy too? I'll add that if it is.)
I didn't try to draw the line as far as simply violating the laws of physics. Even the last few historicals we've done here have had laws-of-physics issues...not like fusion dramas, but I just didn't want to make that call. Ultimately I tried to put everything into the main list and segregate as few as possible. Where I threw up my hands was the combination of no clear date and going beyond laws-of-physics stuff into the supernatural or serious fantasy.
The butchering history, same problem. Some of these series butcher history much more than others, but where do I draw the line? Jang Ok Jung, didn't see it, but I don't want to separate it from the other Jang Hee-Bin dramas even if it's the silliest of the group.
The one that REALLY gave me fits was The Legend. Gwanggaeto, bang no-brainer, 374-413 AD no problem...and then I start reading synopses of the thing and it's like some sort of Korean Ring Cycle. I put it in the main list but I'm still not happy about that; arguably it has no business there.
Maybe the best thing to do is to try to place all of the ones I segregated even if it's not totally accurate. Moon Embracing the Sun, did you get any kind of impression about a date range for it? I know it's a fictional Chosun king but I couldn't find anything more specific.
