This is what I think of sang-min. He should not take the drugs. He should live out his life to the end. So that it can be a special time with Yuna. I also think MIn-joo regrets what she divorced Sang-min and will take him back. Also I think he feels bad about leaving Ja-young with a kid. BUt I think his father is causing more trouble than he should. But in the end I think Ja-young will do the right thing and tell the truth. Just wanted to throw my two sense in. Tell me what you think.

Well I love life, so I would try to fight and extend my life to the last possible moment. Sangmin says he wants make the most of his time and that he doesn't want to spend it on a hospital bed, but I bet that when he feels the Grim Reaper calling his name he's gonna think "Maybe I should have given treatment a chance." If anything, he should do it for Yuna. I feel so sorry for this little girl already.

In end stage cancer, the main thing is your "quality of life". It is up to you to decide if the pain is worth the extra time you might gain. If you go through the treatment, you may live longer, but you will be suffering from the side effects (which are brutal) the whole time. If you refuse treatment, you won't have as much time, but your pain will be limited to the illness. My grandma, who was diagnosed with end stage lung cancer, survived 2 years on chemo. But the side effects were so hard on her she decided to stop the chemo and let nature take it's course. Sang Min would have to endure the treatments for Yuna's sake, it is hard to keep on going for yourself. But, since SM historically has been selfish, even Yuna couldn't get him through it. Unless he becomes a changed man...

I believe SM needs to make his own choice in the matter. His reason for not wanting the treatment to begin with was solely to be able to spend time w/yuna. i think he should go back home w/MJ because she is so willing to care for him. They are both showing compassion for each other's welfare. He doesn't want to burden MJ. MJ must be feeling guilty. I 'guess' I believe he should try treatment a little longer but I doubt it would do any good since his condition is in it's last stages. He is doing some fantastic acting right now...

Thanks, Jenny for the info. This clarifies why he's so hesitant to take the treatment. Wow I guess that's one of those "the disease is better than the cure" kind of instances. Sorry to hear about your grandma. I wonder how his father will react to the news?

Episode 149 is pivotal. MJ finds out about SM's liver cancer and is devastated. She finally shows that she really cares for SM. Acting accolades should go to both of these actors. This was one of the few times in the series I dropped a tear or two.

Careful, Avalon... we will see episode 149 tonite (Monday 10/20), so you're posting small spoilers.
That said, I find it particularly telling that SM feels that he has absolutely no one to confide in when he receives the diagnosis. I remember thinking with some surprise that he actually had a friend when he visited his doctor pal (who, lucky guy, gets to hand out the death sentence!), cause this is someone who has had no close bond to anyone in his life, except Yuna.
I suppose he thinks it's better if he lets the illness take its course and allows him some functionality as a father, rather than be an invalid in front of Yuna for the remaining time.

I can understand SM
I know what it is like to be in the hospital for an extended period of time, its like torture seeing the world carry on while you stare at the bare white walls. Until you know that you are getting better life becomes a burden.
