MOE Ep.19
Taejoo wants Sunwoo to forgive President Jin, his biological father. Bio-dad or no, PJ stole everything from everyone connected with Sunwoo, who is going to destroy him.
Mrs PJ picks a fight with PJ over his dead fiancée, while Yoonjoo attempts to (a) comfort PJ about his business failures, and (b) shush her mother’s grievances. When PJ tells Mrs PJ to “get out,” she says not so fast, it’s my money too. They are unhappy together.
Sunwoo, in a good mood over the imminent success of his plan to force PJ out of his beloved resort, agrees to Jiwon’s request to end it there, stop chasing PJ and let the DA take care of the rest. When Geumjool arrives to announce Mr Lee’s attempted suicide and asks Sunwoo to visit the hospital and forgive the Lees, Sunwoo points out (as Jiwon said to Soomi) that nobody asked him for forgiveness. Jiwon says, “You can forgive without it.” Sunwoo won’t go. Jiwon is clearly troubled by the situation.
At PJ’s company, Sec Cha presides over general panic. “All the new shareholders are acting oddly,” and PJ only owns 19% of total shares (he sold 13% to raise funds). Also, says Cha, Pooreun (Green Mining) seems to be controlled by David Kim (Sunwoo).
Prosecutor Joonho is frustrated in his investigations by a stonewalling Jangil, Soomi and (surprisingly) Sunwoo. All have a different explanation for events. Sunwoo says Soomi is just a frustrated spinster and Jangil is a pathetic cold-hearted infant. He claims the person who attacked him was dad Lee, who was “too ambitious for his smart son.” Outside, these three exchange words and burst apart like a pustulating wound. No one is enlightened. Sunwoo then experiences a blinding headache while driving. Mr Lee, who lies dying, is pilloried in the news as an example of terrible parenting. Good old Geumjool keeps reporters at bay at the hospital, as Jangil sits vigil by his dad.
Later, Mrs PJ shows David Kim the graveside pics, which he explains away rather vaguely. While Jiwon tries to convince her father’s old friends (who are PJ board members) to jump on the take-down-PJ bandwagon, Mrs PJ influences others on the board. In exchange, David will make a member of Mrs PJ’s family into the CEO of the resort firm. So, PJ is rather humiliated by how it turns out, especially when his wife raises her hand to vote against him. PJ is out as CEO.
Sunwoo goes to the hospital to fight with Jangil about dad Lee. When Sunwoo leaves he has another headache. Jiwon calls him, but before he can answer, she is kidnapped off the street and taken to a warehouse. Sunwoo and Sec Kwon suspect PJ and when Taejoo arrives, tell him so.
PJ goes a little crazy and slaps Yoonjoo around because he can‘t find her mother, but she remains sympathetic to his troubles. At the warehouse, Jiwon (who has been trying to escape) is visited by PJ. If Sunwoo puts PJ’s life back together, says PJ, Jiwon will be released. The two men meet at PJ's house and PJ makes his demand. No food, no water for Jiwon, so better decide fast. Sunwoo starts busting up the place and calling for Jiwon.
In a more efficacious plan, Sunwoo physically beats up Sec Cha, who denies all knowledge until Geumjool and Sec Kwon dangle him from a rooftop; then he spills it. Sunwoo rushes toward an unknown destination. Jiwon, exhausted from escape attempts, sleeps in her prison. And Jangil is “called in” by PJ, who has a plan.
PJ receives a surprise visit from Taejoo, who demands PJ release Jiwon, then reveals that Sunwoo is truly PJ’s son and that Eunhye was completely faithful. PJ accuses Taejoo of using Eunhye’s son for revenge. Taejoo, disgusted, leaves, passing Jangil, who has overheard the whole conversation. Jangil crows over a stunned and wondering PJ, who sends him away without revealing his plan.
Sunwoo has located Jiwon’s prison and releases her. She concludes PJ is so evil he’s past redemption. Meanwhile, PJ begs for help with a resort deal in Thailand from some foreign investors.
Soomi packs up her Jangil crime paintings and asks Sunwoo for cash money for them, but then instead she douses them with gasoline and sets them on fire. Sunwoo laughs and asks for water. While waiting, a whistling Sunwoo casually walks back and forth in front of about a dozen paintings leaning against one wall in her studio, slicing them with a matt knife. She attacks him from behind and he grabs her face to smack her down onto the floor, then leaves, still tunelessly whistling.
Mr Lee has died. Jangil, blaming himself, tells his dad to accept his punishment in the afterlife, and Jangil will be punished here for his part. He then visits PJ and tries to physically attack him. PJ announces he’ll feel better later, and then he can help PJ out with his Thailand deal, because Jangil’s career is destroyed now anyway. All the while Jangil fights madly against PJ’s thugs, trying to crawl over them and chew off his enemy’s face.

I don’t think you’re supposed to throw a lighter on top of a fire, much less a gasoline fire. Soomi has bad firebug habits.
So irritating when people don’t get themselves out of danger. You know PJ’s thugs will probably return ANY MINUTE and you kissandhug and discuss what happened? REALLY? But the fact that he didn’t tell her how he found her (beating up Cha) was a nice touch. "Uh, YEAH, Yoonjoo told me. Yeah, that's it!"
I was rather disturbed by Sunwoo’s treatment of Soomi. Yes, she’s nuts. Yes, she helped destroy his life. His reaction may be justified, but it’s not healthy at all. Too creepy/cringey by half. At first I thought he’d cut her with the knife, but then he didn’t seem to, but when she raised her face and that bright red lipstick was smeared across? EUGH—again, thought he’d cut her. It was an effective scene.
