Uhm Tae Woong from Man of Equator and Queen Sundeok will marry ballerina Yoon Hye Jin in January. They met through Tae Woong's sister, Uhm Jung Hwa. Hye Jin is 5 weeks pregnant with Tae Woong's child. I'm sure both sides will say they planned on getting married anyway but this follows several celebrity shotgun weddings in Korea. It's become the norm. The announcement usually goes something like "Celebrity A will marry celebrity B soon. They're both excited to be moving on to the next chapter in their lives together. Oh, and by the way, she is 2 months pregnant. But, they had already planned on getting married in the future. It was gonna happen. Promise."

Not that it matters considering the dumb material they're using

I heard he smacked the wedding cake with a stick 3,000 times. Yi Soon Shin? How can anyone think they can top the KBS production? Reminds me of how Hollywood is always remaking great movies, instead of taking the awful ones and doing them right. I can picture Uhm Tae Woong as YSS, but the previous actor was so good, I think it would be very difficult for him to distinguish himself. Just like I think it will be difficult for anyone to even come close to Mishil in the evil female villain category.

mugwump: agreed. I m currently watching KBS Yi Soon Shin with Kim Kyung Min as YSS... i think Uhm brother is okay. But i also heard that they will change the history which means they suppose YSS didn't sacrifice in Noryang battle .

I don't think they can top IYSS as an epic history, but maybe then can do something that's shorter, swifter, looks more closely at something in particular. You know, like "8 Days" did for Jeongjo.
But I suppose that's a vain hope.

Truth said the plot was YSS surviving Noryang and starting a rebellion against the government. The royal court may have been corrupt but this is an insult to the admiral's legacy

He never did that, did he? I am actually shocked.

I agree--somebody gives a character-defining performance, not a good move to try to follow it. Especially so soon after. And the story sounds ridiculous (although I do have to admit, one thing that IYSS left me with was that the king deserved a good punch in the nose).

I think the idea was to make an alternate timeline that asks the question "What would have happened had Yi Soon Shin survived Noryang?".....still a stupid plot they're going with and I personally rather not think too much about how things would have went had he survived. I have oubts things would have been pretty though, considering how the royal court was against him

I think I read on the original YSS thread that there are "conspiracy theories" that YSS survived the battle, but was spirited away by his supporters to protect him from the king, and he lived out the rest of his days in peace. The starting point for this idea had to do with him having two burial sites.
That may be what got these writers going.
