Of all the sets that YH has, the one of the china shop with its warm decor, is the nicest. Every time Cucina is shown with the three friends/partners chatting/working, you know that this is a little heaven for them. The magic of the place is evident whenever intruders, not customers, appear at this sanctuary's doorstep.

The magic of the place is evident whenever intruders, not customers, appear at this sanctuary's doorstep. It is rather wonderful, isn't it. They are having so much fun, it's extra horrible when S-M's father sets foot in the store. But...your quote above brings up a question--do they even HAVE any customers? I think I've seen four people in the place since they opened it, and they were mostly standing around clutching their purses. This is only strange because we see all the other business-people conducting their business--MJ has meetings, YJ gives out loans, TY calls his messengers, as does his dad in law...these gals only seem to talk about JY's personal life and marriage and to greet intruders. Oh, yes--there WAS that scene a few days ago where JY told the restauranteur she'd pick out his rug color when designing the china. Maybe things are picking up for them.

I think I've seen four people in the place since they opened it, and they were mostly standing around clutching their purses. Too funny...thanks for the laugh! I know what you mean. Besides talking about JY's life, they are seen doing a lot of sitting while holding, looking at, and moving around the pieces for sale...customers are definitely not being caught on tape. Maybe they have a lot of online customers.

I'm rather confused about what sort of business they run. Unless things are done very differently in Korea, designers of things like china, glassware, silverware, furniture, etc. don't normally sell their work directly to the public...they almost always work through retailers or distributors. Some of the big manufacturers do offer outlet stores sometimes.
I'm not sure why Cucina has walk-in customers at all. Most designers have showrooms open to retailers, and I thought at first the people we saw going in there must be customers like that. But yesterday, the woman who bought the vase definitely seemed like just an ordinary customer like someone who would walk into any store.
I would think most of the business they're doing is selling directly to retailers, which makes sense you wouldn't see people like that walking in a lot. Also, clients such as the one Ja-young just picked up...a restauranteur wanting something unique designed for his dining establishment. Btw, what are teacups for couples?
I guess, for some reason, they're also open to walk-in traffic. Quite unusual, but they're set up to handle it, so it seems. But probably their main livelihood comes from direct commissions and sale to distributors/merchants.

Btw, what are teacups for couples? Wow. What a question. Maybe they have two handles! Maybe they're extra gigantic and you only get ONE! Maybe two cups sit on one saucer! Maybe a little condom packet is stuck to the side of one cup like that girl rap group had on their clothes...oh, wait, no, it's Korea.. ;D Actually, I was wondering the same thing. Maybe they're sets of two unique from the other china used in the restaurant, just to, you know, make the evening a little special. Bo
