I'm not that great in Korean, but based on some songs I heard in archaic Korean like Onara, it sounds like listening to a Korean speaking Korean yet it sounds like a completely different language

Dr Jin only raked in 11 per cent for its Pilot episode ..not so good . @dyc That's the same ratings that God of Warriors is getting. Dr. Jin airs on MBC like 30 seconds after God of Warrior ends. I read the Korean reviews of the drama and they all seem to be bashing Song Seung Hun and Kim Jaejoong for being horrible actors. They're all praising Lee Beom Su, who plays Prince Heung Sun. Knov1 Most non-Koreans might watch those and think that is actually what happened in history. In addition, many Chinese and Japanese people make fun of Koreans for wearing fantasy armors in historical settings. They mock as if Koreans don't have any history. Young kids in Korea often belive everything in historicals to be true as well, which is why historical accuracy is important. Historical accuracy wouldn't matter on 100% fictional time period such as Moon Embrace Sun and Rooftop Prince. Actually Truth Sageuks are very popular in Japan in fact many Japanese TV Networks are importing Sageuks instead of making their own historical dramas , Recently dramas like Seo Don Yeo ,Dae Jo Young ,King and I ,Yi San and QSD actually got much higher ratings than home grown dramas like NHK's Taiga Drama ,It seems Japanese are very much into Korean History bearing in mind they have flogged their own history to death to the point no one watches them anymore .

That's exactly what I'm talking about. They watch a lot of Korean sagueks, but they aren't familar with Korean history and I've seen their comments making fun of all the fantasy armors. This one Japanse guy thought the entire SBS Yeon Gae So Moon was fake because of the weird looking armors and fictional stories. Apparently, he thought all Korean historicals were fiction after watching Dae Jang Geum.

It is strange some dramas that did not do well in Korea like Jang Heebin aka Royal Story and Sejong were big hits ,funny enough Yi Soon Shin because Japans version of the Neilson Ratings splits the country into different areas ,so going back to the Imjin War most of the Samurai invading force came from the Southwest so IYSS bombed in that area but was a massive hit all over the rest of Japan to the point where you actually had Japanese rooting for the Koreans over their countrymen on the Southwest Coast . One of the reasons for this is that at the Meiji Restoration it was the Southwestern clans of Choshu and Satsuma that ran the government all the way to the end of WW2 the rest of the country had been pro the ousted Tokugawa and suffered under the Southwestern dominance .

I just watched The Chaser and I have to say this is the best drama of the year for me.

I want to watch The Chaser but it's not something I'd watch without subs. It would be too hard to understand what's going on. A Gentleman's Dignity didn't meet my expectations so I think I'll check out Big.

Cho Seung Woo has been casted as Baek Gwang Hyun(the protagonist, real person) in Lee Byung Hoon's new historical MBC Horse Vetenarian(September 2012). Baek Gwang Hyun started out as a horse vet, but he later became King Sookjong's personal doctor.
Lee Yo Won(Queen Seondeok in MBC Queen Seondeok) has been casted as a nurse named Kang Ji Nyung(the heroine, fictional) who switched parents with Baek Gwang Hyun at birth.

I like Lee Yo Won so thats a plus . I just wonder if they will cover the Manchu invasion and conflicts against Russia in this drama. Manchu invasion happened when Baek Gwang Hyun was 10. Joseon had to ally with Qing and fight against Russia afterwards in 1654 and 1658. So many things happened during Baek Gwang Hyun's life. Manchu invasion on Korea : 3 Dutch men naturalized as Koreans. 2 died in action against the Manchus. Jan Jansz. Weltevree survived the war and changed his name to Park Yeon. Hendrick Hamel's visit to Korea King Injo's assassination of Crown Prince So Hyun Qing & Joseon vs Russia Hyojong's preparation for Manchu conquest Sookjong's preparation for Manchu conquest and pretty much everything that happened in Dong Yi. I'm guessing it probably won't cover most of the stuff above, because Lee Byung Hoon's drama is always about the rags to rich story. It will probably be just about how Baek Gwang Hyun becomes the best doctor of his era.

Um, let me get this straight. In Horse Doc, the person who is switched at birth with the future doctor (male) to the king is female? Wonder how they'll work that one.

Surgery !!!!!.
Going by Dae Jang Geum that pretty much ignored must of the events of the era in favor of rags to riches this will probably follow suite .

He does love his sweeping romances, doesn't he. (Lee Byoung-hoon I mean.) Damn the historical torpedoes and full speed ahead. ;D

Yes he does only problem is he cant stop changing the names and using the same stories .
Although im sure he will add some Soju Biscuit or Worn Horse not to mention Master Ed .
In a serious mode this one has Dae Jang Geum remake all over it only trading Kitchen /Hospital for Royal Stables .
