King Jinji / Prince Geumnyun (1) - Jinheung's second son. In Episode 1, crowned 25th king of Shilla after Jinheung's death. Loses the throne at the end of Ep1; except for an initial recap, he does not appear in Ep2.
Bidam (1; identified 21) - a/k/a "the weird guy." Son of King Jinji and Mishil. We learn in Ep31 that his given royal name was Hyungjong. First seen only once as an infant in Ep1; then not seen again until Ep21. In Ep37 declares himself a Hwarang, which he can do because of Munno's written decree; heads the one-man "Unknown Guard." In Ep52 is named Commissioner of the Royal Inspectorate by QSD. In Ep57 named sangdaedeung (senior advisor) by QSD, replacing Yongchun. Fired by QSD in Ep61 and proclaimed an enemy of the state who must be killed. Killed by government troops in Ep62.
King Jinpyeong / Prince Baekjeong (1) - Jinheung's grandson; and Jinji's nephew; had been designated by Jinheung as successor to the throne. Crowned 26th king of Shilla in Ep2. Sister of Princess Manmyeong, who married Kim Seohyeon. Dies from a cardiac illness in Ep51.
Queen Maya / Lady Kim (1) - Prince Baekjeong's/King Jinpyeong's consort. First referred to as queen in Ep11. Tells Deokman in Ep51 that she's leaving the palace to devote her remaining days to prayer.
Princess Cheonmyeong (2; named 3) - First of two twin sisters born to Maya and Jinpyeong in Ep2. Dies in Ep24 from a poison arrow shot by Daenambo, the elite Hwarang.
Princess Deokman / Queen Seonduk (2; identified 3) - Second of two twin sisters born to Maya and Jinpyeong in Ep2. In Ep8 is made a member of Yushin's Dragon Flower Corps of Hwarang. Kim Yongsu (5) - Son of King Jinji and brother of Kim Yongchun. Seen in Ep5 as a member of the Council of Nobles, apparently. Dies in Ep5, in the battle to retake Mosan Fortress.
Kim Yongchun (5) - Son of King Jinji and brother of Kim Yongsu. Member of the Council of Nobles. In Ep52 named sangdaedeung (senior advisor) by QSD. In Ep57 he loses that position and Bidam replaces him.
Kim Chunchu (5) - a/k/a "the twerp." Son of Kim Yongsu and Princess Cheonmyeong. Born in Ep5. The future King Myueol of Shilla. Seen as a baby in Ep5, and then not seen again until he reappears as a young adult in Ep34. Marries Boryang in Ep41. Given the title "Yichan" (loosely, officer in charge of the three royal palaces) by QSD in Ep54; second-highest rank in the nation.
Princess Manmyeong (8) - Brother of King Jinpyeong. Husband of Kim Seohyeon. Mother of Kim Yushin. Her royal status had been revoked upon her marriage to Seohyeon; in Ep13 it's restored.

MINISTERS
Noribu (1) - Head of the Council of Nobles during King Jinji's brief reign. Not seen after Ep1 until a flashback in Ep32.
Sejong (1) - Minister identified as "6th Garrison Pungwolju" and as Mishil's husband as of 579. Stripped of power in Ep51 after Mishil's suicide, he leaves the capital to go live in his home village. In Ep52 we learn that he's deceased.
Eulje Daedung (1) - Minister praised by Jinheung in Ep1 for "efforts in abating internal strife." Longtime ally of Jinpyeong. Dismissed by Jinpyeong in Ep25.
Misaeng (1) - Mishil's brother, identified as "10th Garrison Pungwolju." First seen as a soldier; in Ep2 he has become a minister. In Ep13 we learn he's a protocol officer. In Ep52 is formally identified as Commissioner of the Board of Rites. Loses his position after Mishil's death and is reassigned to work under Bidam at the newly created Inspectorate. In Ep59 he's again referred to as Commissioner of the Board of Rites; not sure if this is a continuity error or if he got his job back without our knowing. Presumably killed with Hajong by government troops in Ep62, although we weren't explicitly shown it.

Loses his position after Mishil's death and is reassigned to work under Bidam at the newly created Inspectorate. Presumably killed with Misaeng by government troops in Ep62, although we weren't explicitly shown it.
Kim Seohyeon (7) - Former Gayan whose family ruled the former Gayan state of Geumgwan. First seen in Ep7 as head of the Manno County prefecture. Married Princess Manmyeong, the sister of King Jinpyeong. Kim Yushin's father. Had lost his noble status (whatever Shillan noble status he did have) when he married Manmyeong, but in Ep11 Empress Manho accepts the marriage and restores his noble status, and names him a Hwarang. Served as Vice Minister of Defense (so identified in Ep12) leading forces in the effort to recapture Sok Ham Fortress. Promoted to Vice Marshal of the Office of Military Affairs in Ep12. Royal status formally reinstated (or possibly only approved for the first time; not clear on this) in Ep13. Becomes member of the Council of Nobles. In Ep52 is referred to as Chancellor of the Board of Military Affairs; also in Ep52 is given by QSD the additional titles of commissioner (not clear of what) and Lieutenant Commander, described as the highest post in the army.
Gochilbu (32) - Head of the Council of Nobles under King Jinheung; helped establish Buddhism in the country; led the team that wrote the 48-volume Shillan national history for Jinheung. Munno's father. Seen in flashback only.
Sueul, Jinchun, Simbo, Sungsin (named 43, seen earlier) - Council of Nobles members whose names are first spoken by Mishil in Ep43 (but we don't know which names go with which faces). Sueulbu appears with Jujin in Ep47 and is identified by name; presumably this is "Sueul." In Ep52 Sueulbu is identified as heading the Board of Public Rewards.
MILITARY
Seolwon (1) - One of Jinheung's royal guards; later Chief Instructor of the Hwarang--holds the title of Rang (literally, "male," from "Hwarang"--"flower men")--and identified as "9th Garrison Pungwolju." Identified in Ep2 as Mishil's lover. Identified in Ep6 as Commissioner of Military Affairs. Loses his position after Mishil's death and is reassigned to work under Bidam at the newly created Inspectorate. In Ep55 is given temporary command of Kim Yushin's army due to Yushin's arrest and Baekje's invasion. Dies in Ep56, from some combination of angina and battle injuries/fatigue.
Chilsuk (1; identified 3) - A military officer, apparently high-ranking, who is allied with Mishil. In Ep31 is named master of martial arts training for the Hwarang. Killed by Yushin and Bidam in Ep51 as he attempts to attack Deokman in the wake of Mishil's suicide.
Yeo Gilchan (9) - A military leader, first seen reporting directly to the king. Not seen again until Ep50, as commander of Sok Ham Fortress (and when we learn he's an ally of Mishil's).
Isabu (32) - Shillan General and military strategist to King Jinheung. Father of Sejong. Seen in flashback only.
Im Yongji (38) - Seen in the Seorabeol marketplace. Identified as governor of Hansan. Also was a military leader in Gajam Fortress during Baekje war; was appointed to post in the Office of Military Affairs as a reward for his service.
Jujin (44) - Father of Piltan, the elite Hwarang. Commander of the 5,000-man Sangju military unit.
Ho Jae's father (46) - Commander of Yangju Battalion military unit.

Munno (1) - Another of Jinheung's royal guards; later Chief Marshal ("Geoksun") of the Hwarang. In Ep31 he identifies himself as the son of a Gayan princess, and we learn that he gained Shillan noble status by marrying Lady Yun, a cousin of Mishil's and daughter of Gochilbu. Dies in Ep37, poisoned by a blowgun dart shot by a subordinate of Yeom Jong.
Ho Jae (5) - A Hwarang leader, identified as "true bone Hwarang, current Pungwolju." Seen in Ep9 as in an advisor/leadership role; later we learn that he's grand marshal. Replaced by Kim Yushin in Ep35. In Ep41 we learn that he has a liaison position in the government's revenue office.
Bojong (5) - son of Mishil and Seolwon; Hwarang Vice-Chief. After Mishil's death is reassigned to work under Bidam at the newly created Inspectorate.
Imjong (6) - Hwarang leader allied with Kim Yongchun; identified in Ep6 as one of Seorabeol's ten elite Hwarang. In Ep13 we learn that he's now holding Munno's position, although which position is not specified. In Ep52 is apparently no longer a Hwarang; we see him in a regular military uniform, acting in an officer's capacity.
Kim Yushin (6) - Son of Kim Seohyeon and Princess Manmyeong. In Ep7 he identifies himself as the Hwarang in charge of the Dragon Flower Corps. Wins the three-event competition to become Grand Marshal, replacing Ho Jae, in Ep35. In Ep52 is no longer a Hwarang; he's referred to as Field Marshal and has led the Shillan army to a victory over Baekje. Removed from his post in Ep54 for allegedly being sympathetic to Gayan separatists. Restored at the end of Ep56 (but with no mention of charges being dropped or altered). In Ep58 is given a land grant by QSD as a reward for his military victory--so presumably the charges have been dropped.
Jukbang (6) - A petty criminal in Manno County. In Ep8 is made a member of Yushin's Dragon Flower Corps of Hwarang. Promoted to sergeant in Ep38. In Ep52 is no longer a Hwarang; seen wearing an official's robe.
Godo (6) - A petty criminal in Manno County. In Ep8 is made a member of Yushin's Dragon Flower Corps of Hwarang. In Ep52 is no longer a Hwarang; holds title of daedaegam (regiment chief) in the army.
Seokpum (7) - Identified as one of Seorabeol's ten elite Hwarang. Leader of the Green Dragon Hwarang. First seen with Mishil's cabal. Commits suicide by sword in Ep51 in the wake of Mishil's suicide, following an attack on fellow Shillan troops.
Santak, Hyeopseong (8) - Two of the Hwarang in Seokpum's Green Dragon group (wearing magenta headbands). Santak (a/k/a "the Annoying Hwarang") has been seen and has spoken numerous times in subsequent episodes, and by Ep46 has obviously been promoted at least to sergeant. In Ep52 Santak is no longer a Hwarang; he's chief of the Royal Inspectorate Guards. Santak is killed by government troops in Ep62.
Shiyeol, Geoksaheun, Daepoong, Beoksam, Dalchun, Jonggeum, Ilju, Chungsu (identified 9 and 10; seen earlier as younger boys) - Dragon Flower Corps Hwarang. Shiyeol dies in battle in Ep11. As of Ep52 Daepoong and Geoksaheun are no longer Hwarang; we see them in regular military uniforms.
Alcheon (9) - One of Seorabeol's ten elite Hwarang; leader of the Rising Phoenix guards. Dukchung and Bakui (9) - Two of Seorabeol's ten elite Hwarang. In Ep52 are no longer Hwarang; we see them wearing official's robes. In Ep54 QSD refers to a "Councilor Dukchung," presumably the same Dukchung.
Pyeonjo, Dangye, Suchang, Hando, Guemdo (identified 11) - Hwarang in Archeon's Rising Phoenix unit during the Sok Ham/Amak military action.

Daenambo (13) - Leader of the White Fox corps and one of the ten elite Hwarang. Son of Misaeng. Assigned to personally guard Mishil. Fires the poison arrow that kills Princess Cheonmyeong in Ep24. Not seen after Ep48, and in Ep60 Chunchu implies that he had Daenambo killed.
Sunggo (33) - Hwarang likely from outside the capital, who enters the martial-arts portion of the grand-marshal competition but is injured by Bidam and removed from the tournament before competing.

OTHERS
Mishil (1) - Female leader of the Wonhwa; later Jinheung's concubine and Seju (Holder of the Royal Seal, a special post given to royal concubines). Identified in Ep16 as Priestess of the Sacred Rites; informally she was acknowledged to have that role earlier. In Ep29 she loses that title to Deokman. Commits suicide by poison in Ep50.
Sohwa (1) - Prince Baekjeong's/King Jinpyeong's female attendant. Acts as Deokman's adoptive mother; raised her from an infant. Killed in Ep47 by Chilsuk while pretending to be Deokman in disguise.
Seori (1; identified 2) - Buddhist high priestess in the royal shrine in the capital. Acts as MC for royal ceremonies. Announced in Ep2 as "Her Eminence the Sorceress." Dies in Ep25; commits suicide by poison offered by Mishil as punishment for disobedience.
Samwol (12) - One of the serving-women at the Hwarang building; Jukbang flirted with her.
Sadaham (13) - Mishil's first love, seen only in flashback in Ep13. In Ep27 we learn that he somehow saved a younger Wolchun's life during the Shilla/Gaya conflict.
Wolchun (13) - An older monk first encountered at Dalchun Chapel, on Mount Yeoam. Has scientific knowledge, at least as far as astronomy. In Ep27 we learn that he's a native Gayan. In Ep29 is brought into the government to oversee construction of the Chumsung Observatory.
Chosun (identified 21, first seen much earlier) - Princess Cheonmyeong's primary attendant. After Cheonmyeong's death and by Ep30 she becomes Deokman's attendant.
Bangso (21) - A spy in Seolwon's employ, who has infiltrated Seohyeon's staff and gained their confidence. Bolts from his cover in Ep36 (with his family, we're told) after stealing an incriminating tax document from Seohyeon's house.

Sueul, Jinchun, Simbo, Sungsin (named 43, seen earlier) - Council of Nobles members whose names are first spoken by Mishil in Ep43 (but we don't know which names go with which faces). Sueulbu appears with Jujin in Ep47 and is identified by name; presumably this is "Sueul." In Ep52 Sueulbu is identified as heading the Board of Public Rewards.
MILITARY
Seolwon (1) - One of Jinheung's royal guards; later Chief Instructor of the Hwarang--holds the title of Rang (literally, "male," from "Hwarang"--"flower men")--and identified as "9th Garrison Pungwolju." Identified in Ep2 as Mishil's lover. Identified in Ep6 as Commissioner of Military Affairs. Loses his position after Mishil's death and is reassigned to work under Bidam at the newly created Inspectorate. In Ep55 is given temporary command of Kim Yushin's army due to Yushin's arrest and Baekje's invasion. Dies in Ep56, from some combination of angina and battle injuries/fatigue.
Chilsuk (1; identified 3) - A military officer, apparently high-ranking, who is allied with Mishil. In Ep31 is named master of martial arts training for the Hwarang. Killed by Yushin and Bidam in Ep51 as he attempts to attack Deokman in the wake of Mishil's suicide.
Yeo Gilchan (9) - A military leader, first seen reporting directly to the king. Not seen again until Ep50, as commander of Sok Ham Fortress (and when we learn he's an ally of Mishil's).
Isabu (32) - Shillan General and military strategist to King Jinheung. Father of Sejong. Seen in flashback only.
Im Yongji (38) - Seen in the Seorabeol marketplace. Identified as governor of Hansan. Also was a military leader in Gajam Fortress during Baekje war; was appointed to post in the Office of Military Affairs as a reward for his service.
Jujin (44) - Father of Piltan, the elite Hwarang. Commander of the 5,000-man Sangju military unit.
Ho Jae's father (46) - Commander of Yangju Battalion military unit.

Munno (1) - Another of Jinheung's royal guards; later Chief Marshal ("Geoksun") of the Hwarang. In Ep31 he identifies himself as the son of a Gayan princess, and we learn that he gained Shillan noble status by marrying Lady Yun, a cousin of Mishil's and daughter of Gochilbu. Dies in Ep37, poisoned by a blowgun dart shot by a subordinate of Yeom Jong.
Ho Jae (5) - A Hwarang leader, identified as "true bone Hwarang, current Pungwolju." Seen in Ep9 as in an advisor/leadership role; later we learn that he's grand marshal. Replaced by Kim Yushin in Ep35. In Ep41 we learn that he has a liaison position in the government's revenue office.
Bojong (5) - son of Mishil and Seolwon; Hwarang Vice-Chief. After Mishil's death is reassigned to work under Bidam at the newly created Inspectorate.
Imjong (6) - Hwarang leader allied with Kim Yongchun; identified in Ep6 as one of Seorabeol's ten elite Hwarang. In Ep13 we learn that he's now holding Munno's position, although which position is not specified. In Ep52 is apparently no longer a Hwarang; we see him in a regular military uniform, acting in an officer's capacity.
Kim Yushin (6) - Son of Kim Seohyeon and Princess Manmyeong. In Ep7 he identifies himself as the Hwarang in charge of the Dragon Flower Corps. Wins the three-event competition to become Grand Marshal, replacing Ho Jae, in Ep35. In Ep52 is no longer a Hwarang; he's referred to as Field Marshal and has led the Shillan army to a victory over Baekje. Removed from his post in Ep54 for allegedly being sympathetic to Gayan separatists. Restored at the end of Ep56 (but with no mention of charges being dropped or altered). In Ep58 is given a land grant by QSD as a reward for his military victory--so presumably the charges have been dropped.
Jukbang (6) - A petty criminal in Manno County. In Ep8 is made a member of Yushin's Dragon Flower Corps of Hwarang. Promoted to sergeant in Ep38. In Ep52 is no longer a Hwarang; seen wearing an official's robe.
Godo (6) - A petty criminal in Manno County. In Ep8 is made a member of Yushin's Dragon Flower Corps of Hwarang. In Ep52 is no longer a Hwarang; holds title of daedaegam (regiment chief) in the army.
Seokpum (7) - Identified as one of Seorabeol's ten elite Hwarang. Leader of the Green Dragon Hwarang. First seen with Mishil's cabal. Commits suicide by sword in Ep51 in the wake of Mishil's suicide, following an attack on fellow Shillan troops.
Santak, Hyeopseong (8) - Two of the Hwarang in Seokpum's Green Dragon group (wearing magenta headbands). Santak (a/k/a "the Annoying Hwarang") has been seen and has spoken numerous times in subsequent episodes, and by Ep46 has obviously been promoted at least to sergeant. In Ep52 Santak is no longer a Hwarang; he's chief of the Royal Inspectorate Guards. Santak is killed by government troops in Ep62.
Shiyeol, Geoksaheun, Daepoong, Beoksam, Dalchun, Jonggeum, Ilju, Chungsu (identified 9 and 10; seen earlier as younger boys) - Dragon Flower Corps Hwarang. Shiyeol dies in battle in Ep11. As of Ep52 Daepoong and Geoksaheun are no longer Hwarang; we see them in regular military uniforms.
Alcheon (9) - One of Seorabeol's ten elite Hwarang; leader of the Rising Phoenix guards. In Ep52 is no longer a Hwarang; we see him wearing a regular military uniform; Yushin refers to him as "Chief"; he holds some unnamed position overseeing the capital's security and also is acting as the queen's personal bodyguard. Named sangdaedeung by QSD in Ep62.
Dukchung and Bakui (9) - Two of Seorabeol's ten elite Hwarang. In Ep52 are no longer Hwarang; we see them wearing official's robes. In Ep54 QSD refers to a "Councilor Dukchung," presumably the same Dukchung.
Pyeonjo, Dangye, Suchang, Hando, Guemdo (identified 11) - Hwarang in Archeon's Rising Phoenix unit during the Sok Ham/Amak military action.
Hwajung (12) - A former Gayan in the Green Dragon Corps. At Bojong's instruction, tried to assassinate Kim Seohyeon. Commits suicide in Ep12 after being captured.
Daenambo (13) - Leader of the White Fox corps and one of the ten elite Hwarang. Son of Misaeng. Assigned to personally guard Mishil. Fires the poison arrow that kills Princess Cheonmyeong in Ep24. Not seen after Ep48, and in Ep60 Chunchu implies that he had Daenambo killed.
Sunggo (33) - Hwarang likely from outside the capital, who enters the martial-arts portion of the grand-marshal competition but is injured by Bidam and removed from the tournament before competing.
Yanggil (identified 38, first seen much earlier) - Hwarang in Alcheon's Rising Phoenix Corps. Promoted to leiutenant in Ep38. In Ep52 is no longer a Hwarang; we see him wearing a regular military uniform.
Piltan, Wang Yun, Seon Yul (first speak in 41, all seen earlier) - Elite Hwarang. As of Ep41 Piltan's father is a vice marshal in Sangju, not far from the capital; identified in Ep42 as Jujin. Also as of Ep41 Wang Yun's father is a friend of Sejong's. In Ep52 Piltan is no longer a Hwarang; we see him wearing an official's robe. Also in Ep52 Wang Yun is apparently no longer a Hwarang; we see him in a regular military uniform, acting in an officer's capacity. In Ep55 Seon Yul is seen in a military uniform, acting in an officer's capacity (he may have appeared as such earlier without a speaking role and I didn't spot him).
Heuksan (59, identified posthumously 61) - One of QSD's royal guards, who's secretly recruited by Yeom Jong. Killed by Bidam at the end of Ep60 while trying to fool him into thinking QSD wanted him assassinated.
OTHERS
Mishil (1) - Female leader of the Wonhwa; later Jinheung's concubine and Seju (Holder of the Royal Seal, a special post given to royal concubines). Identified in Ep16 as Priestess of the Sacred Rites; informally she was acknowledged to have that role earlier. In Ep29 she loses that title to Deokman. Commits suicide by poison in Ep50.
Sohwa (1) - Prince Baekjeong's/King Jinpyeong's female attendant. Acts as Deokman's adoptive mother; raised her from an infant. Killed in Ep47 by Chilsuk while pretending to be Deokman in disguise.
Seori (1; identified 2) - Buddhist high priestess in the royal shrine in the capital. Acts as MC for royal ceremonies. Announced in Ep2 as "Her Eminence the Sorceress." Dies in Ep25; commits suicide by poison offered by Mishil as punishment for disobedience.
Samwol (12) - One of the serving-women at the Hwarang building; Jukbang flirted with her.
Sadaham (13) - Mishil's first love, seen only in flashback in Ep13. In Ep27 we learn that he somehow saved a younger Wolchun's life during the Shilla/Gaya conflict.
Wolchun (13) - An older monk first encountered at Dalchun Chapel, on Mount Yeoam. Has scientific knowledge, at least as far as astronomy. In Ep27 we learn that he's a native Gayan. In Ep29 is brought into the government to oversee construction of the Chumsung Observatory.
Chosun (identified 21, first seen much earlier) - Princess Cheonmyeong's primary attendant. After Cheonmyeong's death and by Ep30 she becomes Deokman's attendant.
Bangso (21) - A spy in Seolwon's employ, who has infiltrated Seohyeon's staff and gained their confidence. Bolts from his cover in Ep36 (with his family, we're told) after stealing an incriminating tax document from Seohyeon's house.
Sulmae (27, possibly seen earlier) - A priestess at the royal shrine.
Yeom Jong (36) - A merchant or trader; first seen meeting with Munno, aiding him in completing the Geographical Survey of the Three Kingdoms. Responsible for arranging Munno's murder in ep37. In Ep52 is part of the Royal Inspectorate, holding the rank of daedaegam (regiment chief). Murdered by Bidam in Ep62.
Boryang (37) - Daughter of Bojong. Marries Chunchu in Ep41.
Yeongmo (37; identified 44) - Daughter of Hajong. Marries Yushin in Ep37.
Wang Yun's father (44) - Goes with Jujin (Piltan's father) to visit Deokman in Ep44. Killed by Bojong in Ep46, at Mishil's command, during a Council of Nobles meeting.
Gicheon (likely 45; identified 46) - One of Yeom Jong's subordinates who apparently was in the rescue squad that helped Deokman escape but was captured inside the West Gate.
Bonggi (52) - One of the farmers from the northern Angang Fortress region who was given land and tools by Deokman; named local Chief of Farmland Reclamation by QSD in Ep52.
Ildo, Ilson (59) - Two men among many who showed up in answer to Yeom Jong's call for workers (turned out to be for mercenaries).
Hansu, Jeongtak, Gangso (59) - Employees of the Inspectorate, proven trustworthy in their task assigned by Bidam.
Lord Yeongjin (61) - A noble from (presumably) one of the outlying areas who arrives at Myeonghwalsan Fortress to offer his loyalty to Bidam.
GAYANS AND OTHER NON-SHILLANS
Cartan (3) - A Roman trader befriended by Deokman.
Lord Yang (3; identified 4) - A local feudal lord in Xinjiang Province, China.
Seolji (6) - First seen in Ep6 as leader of a Gayan refugee camp. Next seen in Ep25 as a leader of the Bokya, a Gayan nationalist resistance group. In Ep33 he's named a Hwarang by Seohyeon and shows up dressed in a Dragon Flower uniform. Promoted to sergeant in Ep38. In Ep52 we learn he has the rank of daedaegam (regiment chief).
Goo Pae (10) - Baekje military commander.
Jang (14) - A Chinese merchant, familiar with Shilla from past visits; arranges for the new Chinese almanac to be brought to Mishil by Hasha the Indian merchant.
Hasha (14) - An Indian merchant; brings the new Chinese almanac to Mishil.
Wolya (25) - Eldest son of Crown Prince Wolgwang of the former Gayan state Dae. Leader of the Bokya, a Gayan nationalist resistance group. In Ep33 he's named a Hwarang by Seohyeon and shows up dressed in a Dragon Flower uniform. In Ep38 is promoted to trainee instructor, reporting to Alcheon. In Ep40 Seokpum reports to Chilsuk that Wolya is the son of General Chunju; this is either a mistake by Seokpum or a continuity error. In Ep52 is no longer a Hwarang; is seen riding next to Yushin, leading the army's return from a battlefield victory; is wearing a regular military uniform; and refers to himself as "a high officer in the Board of Military Affairs."
Changi, Jonggeum (52) - Privates in the Shillan army, arrested for being part of the Gaya restoration movement.
Doyeol (54) - Messenger in the Baekje army; in the Royal Guard Ministry. Killed in a Shillan ambush in Ep54.
Yoon Chung (54) - Lead general in Baekje army.
Gyebaek (54) - General in the Baekje army; seen as a younger man, not the overall commander he would become.
Geomil (54) - Shillan soldier guarding the Daeya Fortress north gate, acting as a spy for the Baekje army.
Gabaek (57) - "Commander" (appears to be a general or almost one) in the Baekje army.
Su Jiyan (58) - Tang envoy who leads a delgation to Shilla in Ep58.
