There's a rumor floating around that Kim So Eun might be cast in this drama. If true, I just became a lot more interested in it.

I hope so she was the best thing in Empress and was great in Boy's ,she probably needs to redeem herself after that daytime drama with screeching Doonie Ba .

Yu Dong Yoon, the writer of Age of Warriors and King and I, has been pulled off.
The writer position has been replaced with Kim Seondeok, a rookie writer whose only drama was the 1 episode sageuk Lingering Affection in 2011. Lingering Affection was a fictional sageuk about two lovers in Joseon dynasty.
However, it is also possible for Yu Dong Yoon to co-script with Kim Seondeok.

^This doesn't sound good at all.
I just noticed something. I'm probably over-reading this, but Gwanggaeto, Muyeol and Yi Soonshin are national heroes of Korea (though in the case of Muyeol, Kim Yushin did most of the work but you get the idea). Three of them had writers who were inexperienced in historical dramas, IYSS doing it first (and we all know what ended up happening), and I still don't understand the director's reasoning for it (Kim Myung min on the other hand was quite a gamble); they seem to be doing something similar in regards to this. Probably because rookie screenwriters don't cost alot (that sounded pretty bad)

Casting news :
Park Sol Mi has been pulled off.
Park Joo Mi will be playing QSD.
Seon Jua will be playing young Deokman.
Here's an interesting fact about about Shilla.
Sapsarees, one of the Korean native dogs, were thought to have an ability fo fight off evil spirits throughout Korean history.
Sapsarees became the symbol of Shilla royal family for this reason, so the owning of Sapsarees as pets were banned to non-royal family members. Non-royal family members that had Sapsarees were the aristocrats that got special permissions by becoming very close to the royal family. These people often walked around with their Sapsarees to show off their relationship with the royal family.
Kim Yushin also owned a Sapsaree and he always took his Sapsaree to every war he was in.
It would be interesting if this drama actually shows Kim Yushin with his Sapsaree lol.
Shillans also had monkeys as pets.

Hi Truth Not to overwork you but it would be so great if you could provide some more historical translations to the actual events ,it would be nothing short of awesome . Park Sol Mi is not good news but Joo Mi is well ok could have been better ,she does not have the charisma that Sol Mi and Lee Yo Won have .
Take it back Joo Mi is an excellent choice sorry i was confused this is a major step up brilliant choice .
